Healerguy needed a whole week to do tests and he finally let me go so I went to clear out some stores with Kyle.

Gittrian is such a nice city to buy stuff in. Greg said he'd be in Gittrian, should I visit? He would either be too busy or tell me to stop fooling around and continue whatever I'm supposed to do. I would probably say the exact same thing if Raishin would come and visit me.

The clowns spotted us and stepped out of their car. "What the! How did you guys get here before us!" We ran

“Stop lying! You must have taken the teleporter!" Sure, let's go with that, Kyle do you still need anything?

Kyle looked at a list he made. The list had 2 items on it... "Uhh, I forgot to complete my list, let's hop by the apothecary to see if they have what I need."

"Hey assholes stop ignoring us!" So annoying, do you want to disappear?

"Hah, try if you can, we're higher ranked than you."

I opened a vial. "Hmm smells like its gonna rain, hey wait, Agnis are you insane?!" He gave me permission, maybe he too will evolve into something ugly. Kyle persuaded me to not assassinate them in broad daylight. You got lucky, you owe your life to Toxic Donkey, Toxic Donkey is your master now.

The clowns walked away.

"I still haven't forgiven you for that." Kyle... Toxic Donkey said with a frown on his face. I didn't come up with the idea but I’ll happily take responsibility for this one, I wish it was my idea.

"Then whose idea, was it?" There she is! Let's hide though, she's annoying.

"The vice president's daughter? I think she's nice." Give up Toxic Donkey she's like 22, too old for you.

"I heard that! I'm 20, not 22!" Still daddy's girl.

"Stop that! I'm sure you guys hang out with your parents too all the time." Daddy's girl said as she approached us. She seemed to be ding groceries.

Toxic Donkey raised an eyebrow. "My parents are dead…" Mine have been missing for over 10 years…

"Oh, ehh, I'm sorry."

"Treasure your father it will be too late after he's gone, come Agnis before the apothecary runs out of our stuff!" Daddy's girl seemed lost in thought and we got our stuff from the apothecary.

"That's all I think, ready when you are. Are you sure it's ok to not say bye to Thalia?" She's busy, we already said goodbye a week ago.

"You really suck at this do you? Go say bye to her! I will be waiting at the west gate." Kyle walked off. He didn't have his donkey onesie on today.

I would be alone again after today; it feels so weird. I didn't want it to end on one side but we all have our stuff we want to achieve so staying together wouldn’t work.

I wonder if something would happen with Raishin and Greg too. If that happens, what will I do? I've asked these questions before but I don't have any answers. I am good at ignoring my emotions at certain points.

I reached the area in the Adventurer’s Association that had duels and spar and spotted Thalia. It was weird to see her with so much clothing on her. She was working hard.

She was having a 3v3 and the Crimson Eagle from their team got knocked out. Normally this would be a game over if it has a Grumpy Blowfish as all the party's damage disappears but she was owning the opponents. They probably didn't expect her to hit that hard. She seemed to have gotten some inspiration from my [Waterfall].

It was very rough because it's difficult to change magic into forms that deviate from their original form but it was recognizable as my [Waterfall]. It might be sloppy but its power was real and her opponents noticed that. I decided to watch a bit and leave. She turned the fight from a 2v3 into a 2v2. There is no way they will lose now. I turned around.

"Can you please wait?" It was the Crimson Eagle that got knocked out. "You're Agnis right?" Yeah.

The crowd cheered as they had won.

"Go to her" I nodded and went into the duel area. Thalia saw me enter, her face lit up and she ran at me. That was wonderful. I came to say goodbye.

"I know that I said I would be busy and I didn't expect you to say bye but I'm happy you did. I will get S rank!" I know you will. Hey it was fun hanging out with you and I apologize for being difficult.

"I'm difficult too, it will work out somehow. Can I get a hug before you leave?" I decided that this wasn't the time to act awkward so I pulled her in and embraced her. The next time I see you I want to see that Alluring Desertflower role name.

"Easy, thank you." I let her go. Be well.

I left, waved and scolded myself in my head. Why am I so awkward?! I made myself cringe. If Kyle was here, he'd surely say something about it and rightfully so.

I left the Adventurer’s Association and headed to the west gate. Kyle was waiting 'edgy assassin' style, leaning with his back to the wall and playing with a dagger. Just say it…

"You blew it didn't you?" I nodded and we headed out. We didn't exchange any words.

We got far enough and I carried him to Texiha.

Kyle spoke when we neared Texiha. "Are we ever going to see you again?" Why wouldn't you?

"Just thinking, all these things you go through, even the things that happened in the short time I travelled with you. It is all quite crazy. You are not going to die somewhere all alone and leave us behind, are you?" Getting sentimental, eh? Don't worry I will be fine. We arrived at Texiha and we walked toward the Adventurer’s Association. I dumped all his stuff that I had stored in the room he got.

"Hey, if you ever need help just put in a request. " I would like to say the same but I'm a busy fox.

Kyle disappeared and I went to the outskirts of the town. A strange feeling of loneliness came over me. I steeled myself. Just 1 year and 4 months left till I finish everything I planned. After that almost 10 months before we would meet up. Did we fail at math? We said 3 years but we will meet up at Ted's 5th death anniversary so that makes it almost 4 years. Raishin is gonna mess this up, won't he? I headed back home and floated around in the basin.

Another full moon. A very strong tug and it forced my tails out and they turned silver. I stared at the moon and it was as if it was trying to talk to me. I was curious what this was about so I just let everything happen. A filter appeared. [Moontalk]? What is this? I used it and it felt like I made a connection with it. It was like the moon was some kind of library. Anything that happened under the moonlight was stored. Any race linked to the moon seems to be able to connect like this. I looked for answers. My race isn't particularly linked to the moon. Frost magic is related to the moon? That's a first. Silver foxes are always proficient in frost magic and thus linked to the moon.

The gods were also specifically targeting frost using ninetails. Does this have anything to do with this? Does that mean I'm not bound to the 9t duties? But if so, what is my duty, then? Because if I'm not a 9t, I’m something even more rare. But my mom is a 9t. Not silver but gold so what does this mean? Is this something that jumps generations? Was gramps a silver fox? He was. How does he produce a golden fox? Was granny gold? No granny was a phoenix.

Aagh! What's going on with my family?! Life couldn't leave me alone eh, I almost started to feel comfy and now this. Wait. I don't know anything about my father. Maybe if he was silver then it might have done something. But my mom was surprised to find out that I had an affinity for frost and had never seen it before. So… no silver fox dad… I'm stuck. I decided to sleep and ignore the problem until it goes away.

The next day, I went to hunt for materials found in the jungle. Chopping some trees, collecting random herbs storing some water just in case. Nothing was safe. I don't know what stuff I will need so I want to have as much stuff as possible. Am I a hoarder? Maybe but I have near infinite space at my disposal and I keep it neat and catalogued, kinda, I do throw some things in but it's on an organized pile! Yoo Vinny!

“Oh, not with your girlfriend this time?” We split up, do you have any broken-off fangs and claws or something, some scales would work too.

Vinny abruptly stopped what he was doing. “You split up? What happened?” Different goals, now do you have those?

“Yes, but I want you to elaborate, you are not doing something reckless again are you?” Ugh, you guys care too much. She needs to focus and I’m a distraction, that basically sums it up.

“Hmm, you are a distraction indeed, I don't fully buy it but that's acceptable for now. I have some of the items you requested, what do you need them for?” I’m entering the last chapter of my training in 4 months or so and I’m going to be blacksmithing and creating weapons and become less shit with a sword.

“Is there anything you can’t do?” There is a lot I can't do, that's why I need your help. I prefer to ask for broken claws and scales than hunting down problematic dragons. I shouldn't have turned that asshole into a pile of ash if I knew this would happen, all I got were some bones.

“Hmm I have some but I assume you don't just need parts for jungle dragons. There are actually some belligerent fire dragons in the mountains nearby that have been annoying us lately. I wouldn't mind if you use them for missing parts.” I assume they are 2-winged dragons, do you know of any no winged or 4 winged dragons?

“Actually, I don't, I only know of no winged dragons from you, and all I know from 4 winged dragons is that they live in very extreme conditions or are domesticated.” Well, I've been in some magma chambers and didn't see any, I think that's pretty extreme.

“I guess if you are unable to find them, they must be really rare.” Hey, come on!

“How many people do you know that jump into hurricanes and live to tell the tale or spend days underwater or chill out in magma chambers?” How would you train different elements then?

“I don't know, maybe observe what the humans do and copy that?” That! Hmmm, you have a point.

“Just wondering, don't you need metals and rocks for blacksmithing?” Normally yes but I'm trying to make something ancient and strong so it will certainly need unusual and exotic materials. Did you go through the armory in the time capsule?

“You know I can’t read all that…” Ah right, I will put my tails on translating some, it might interest you and also tell you about the dangers you could get into if you're careless around humans. There was armor made out of dragon scales and bones, don't end up as someone's armor.

“I am more concerned about what they will do with a spirit fox but I will keep that in mind.” Some extremely soft fabric that can both conduct magic well or block it. I have a mountain of fur that I could turn into that it’s just I don't know much about fabric, it just so happens that I turned the fabric country into a mess quite recently so I might have to delay that. Also… I found this book… it described the effects the blood of legendary and mythical beings can have… I will translate it to draconian because this needs to stay far from human eyes but we must be aware of this.

“That is very concerning yeah, I could use some more literature, I am slowly running out, probably a downside of longevity.”

I spent the rest of the day in Vinny’s lair translating some parts of the manual that made recommendations on what types of plants to get. Vinny had most of them but I needed 5 that he didn't have, he also asked me to bring a sample for him if I found them. “The name of this plant bothers me, as far as I know, it doesn't exist, does it go by another name nowadays? Dewdrop… “ Any idea here it might grow based off its name?

“Well, most get named by humans so either the name is very specific or doesn't make sense at all. Pineapple… it's not an apple and it doesn’t even look or taste like apples either! How does that make sense?” ” Fair point, so this either looks like a dewdrop, grows where dew is common, or is completely misleading.

“Do any of the texts that you have archived talk about it?” Hmm, let’s see. I put my tails to work to find if there was something. Oh… how nostalgic.

“You found something?” Dewdrops are also known as mistflower. I know where mistflowers grow. I could also get some ores from there.

“Hmm east side of the Umbra mountain range and near where it splits off into the Lucidus mountain range. Or more to the northeast side along the Lucidus mountain range but that’s quite close to witch territory.” Exactly! That’s where we started out, Boshi Town. and is that where the witches live? I never knew.

“Yeah, their second largest city, Witchaven is near, I wouldn't recommend going there but since you love trouble, I'm just going to assume that you will end up there sooner or later.” Well, I’m interested in the witch place but not now, can you write down the location of the other 4 plants and a general description of what they look like? I will go do some mining near the basin later, see if there are some cool rocks or metals there, and head out later this week.

“Ok, I will be visiting the time capsule again so I will be gone in 3 days for an undetermined amount of time” Vinny wrote the important details down and we talked a bit. The dragons didn't seem to want to participate in helping Vinny check up on any other jungle or forest than their own. All were obsessed with their selfish goals. Like eating the most fruit or lazing around all day. Most kept at least the jungle in order. Playing pranks on you guys was an eye-opener, wasn't it?

“Hmm, well we realized it must have been you but you can never be sure, if more humans like Kyle appear it might get troublesome so I guess it’s good to keep us awake.” I won't be pulling any more pranks after I get all my stuff so if anything, weird happens, it's not me.

“Are you moving countries?” Probably, it is very beneficial to stay relatively close to Gittrian if I want to do blacksmithing.

“I should visit it too, I heard it’s very welcoming to non-humans.” Yeah, it is, we were walking around in funny onesies but only got funny looks when we actually did something weird.

“I will put it on my agenda, that is probably the best place to learn about humans. I’m slowly becoming tired of how the dragons act here, I can only imagine how it is for those who weren't raised by dragons.” Good luck, humans have their problems too I just have found more reasonable humans than dragons.

I went back home and prepared for some diving. I had equipment for mining but it was old and since I didn't bother learning earth leylines I needed mining tools. It seemed to have gone missing as I had lent it all to Raishin and never got it back. This is a problem. I can create holes easily but I will destroy whatever useful it might contain. I don't know any mining town besides Boshi town. Do I really have to go there? I still need mistflowers. I guess going there wouldn't hurt. I will laze around a bit and then head over to Boshi town.
