A week had passed since Raishin had broken up. He was quite sad and disappointed on the day it happened but he was back to his cheerful self the day after. I hope he is properly dealing with it and not pushing those feelings into a corner.
Greg still hasn’t returned. I hope he is ok… Elliana is worried sick; he only was supposed to be away for 3 days. Elliana tried to go out and look for him multiple times but she had been stopped every time. Raishin and I had tried too of course so now Elliana and Raishin are also under house arrest. The three of us all can’t leave. Isn’t that wonderful?
The elven elders are being slow as fuck in formulating a plan and assembling a team to go and retrieve him. Normally it wouldn’t be a problem for me to break out but… I looked at the 2 elven elders sitting in my living room who were continuously casting some elven magic on me to keep me calm and severely slow down my magical processes.
I am having difficulties interrupting most of them because this elven magic is very different. I did got some good interrupts in which is why there are 2 elders here now instead of one. What a pain in the ass.
“I would never have thought that it would be this challenging to keep a spirit fox under control”
“We are lucky he is still young. 3 of our deception experts are making sure we are not interacting with an illusion.”
These elves are a pain in the ass. I interrupted 3 more casts and the elders got on edge. I hope Raishin has better luck but I assume that he is easier to restrain. I looked at where Raishin’s house was.
It seems they had succeeded in putting Raishin to sleep. I sighed as I expected this but I had hoped that he might have found a way to not get put to sleep. I interrupted another skill that tried to put me to sleep.
My gaze shifted to Elliana’s house. Oh what do we have here. She escaped. Byron is going nuts. Hehe serves him well. Let’s see where is she?
I found her after 3 minutes. She had already escaped the village and went south. I don’t think they can catch her now unless they get serious. It feels strange but I will entrust Greg to Elliana. There is nothing I can do at the moment.
Hey old farts, I know you mean well but this imprisonment!
“We don’t care, we can’t have you go off and get yourself targeted and killed.”
Then let Raishin and Elliana go!
“The human world is perilous, you know that even better than we do!” I hate it when people are right and I can’t retort to that.
Ok fine. I guess I will work on this spirit vessel then. Are you guys sure you’re not hiding anything from me? I could use anything doesn’t matter how small in making this near impossibility.
The elder that had been staring at my fruit bowl for a while answered. “Why would we hide anything from you? We will benefit greatly if you succeed.”
Yes and out of experience that is not enough reason to not hide anything. So let me ask you, why did nobody tell me about the small hut and ancient building not too far from here?
Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
“That! How do you know about that!” I pointed at my light orange eyes with purple-striped pupils.
Did you forget who I am?
“Ugh. It looks so intimidating. I suppose we should have expected that. None of the documents we found there were of any use so we felt there was no need to bring up irrelevant information.”
So that’s the story you're going with eh? Fine have it your way.
They were alarmed when I took the anatomical map out of my dimensional pocket. What I am going to do is combine Azu’s hard work and Rignef’s hard work. I feel like I have to ask her permission to use her research like this. But would I be able to stick around long enough to find her and do such? I don’t know when these dizzy spells are going to get worse.
I hope she will forgive me. Just as I had learned how to document my findings and progress in Witchaven, I started to note down anything that had happened so far. The location of Rignef’s mansion. What I know from him, Isi’s story, and what I remember from her spirit vessel. I then wrote about Boshi town, my meeting with Azu and what I knew about Azu.
I paused for a bit. Should I include myself in this? Rignef mentioned that I might be an important element in this. I kept writing about what I knew about Azu and my tail started writing something else. It started to write about my life. It will eventually tie Rignef’s and Azu’s work together.
It started from the day of the attack on Hourai, then the events of Boshi town and anything that had happened to us. But this isn't important now. I had finished with the background information. I introduced the problem, the two pieces of research I would use, and some info about the researchers that made this possible.
The elders were quiet. I noticed that they were looking over my shoulder.
“Where did you learn how to write like this?”
Witchaven
“Isn't that the city of the witches? Aren't you a man?”
Heh, you should have seen their reaction when they found out!
“Right, you are a spirit fox, this does fall within your behavior…”
“Don’t let us distract you we’re quite interested.”
Well, that’s all for now. While I am quite adept at mana runes and magic circles I know nothing about spirit vessels so I need to study that.
“I’m sorry we wish we had more information…” The elder said as he took a banana from my fruit bowl.
Oh, that’s fine, I already found it!
“What? How! I’m intrigued, can you show us?”
Sorry, I can’t. it’s in here.
I tapped on my head, went to sit on the couch, and leaned backward.
I do have the research material archived but that doesn’t mean that I ‘know’ what’s in it. I can just easily access it. I will probably have to understand this if I want to progress so being able to access the information isn't enough. I will have to understand it. Now lets see what Rignef had found out.
