Chapter 82 - Participants From Other Races

“This one should be more interesting than the first one,” Yun Ling said to himself as he looked at the moving image with the participants in it.

In this stage, the participants’ true abilities would be displayed. All of them would be forced to fight if they wanted to pass the second stage and there was nothing they could do about it.

In the first stage, a lot of the participants were able to pass without doing anything at all. After they found a card, they hid it until they were teleported out. There were only 1000 cards so the 2000 participants who weren’t able to find one had the hardest time in that stage. Not only did they have to guess which participant had a card, but there was also a risk that their guess was off the mark and would only be wasting their strength from fighting someone without a card. Even if their guess was right, the ensuing commotion of their fight to steal the card would attract more people without cards to them.

Thus, the people who were able to find a card first were the ones that got it the easiest.

“You’re right. The first one was quite dull,” Yu Shan said with a smile. Though there were some interesting fights in the first stage, there wasn’t a lot.

The crown prince didn’t say anything as he merely observed the participants in silence.

A tall handsome man with a pair of pointed ears frowned as he looked at his surroundings.

“My ability is a bit limited in this place,” he muttered to himself.

As a Nature Spirit, being far away from nature was a bit disadvantageous for him. In the first stage which was held inside a forest, he was at his strongest. However, in this city, he was a tad weaker.

“Nevertheless, I’ll still win.”

He closed his eyes and established a link with all the living creatures in the city bar the participants. All of the birds in the sky… the ants in the ground… all sorts of insects and animals in the city had now fallen under his control.

With these creatures under his control, he used them to spy on the other participants, intent on finding his target out.

Suddenly, he let out a smirk.

“Found you, number 108…”

Somewhere far away, Yun Yi frowned when he noticed someone’s eyes on him. He quickly looked behind but didn’t find anyone much to his disappointment. Then, he noticed a lizard eating some ants one by one which was walking in a line.

This text was taken from Royal Road. Help the author by reading the original version there.

Yun Yi narrowed his eyes at the lizard. That thing was giving him weird vibes. It was as if it was observing him very carefully.

“Hmph!”

He waved his hand, blasting the lizard into numerous pieces instantly.

‘Right, that guy is a Nature Spirit. It’s probably him,’ Yun Yi thought as he recalled the others who were able to pass the first stage with him at the same time. He was the only human among them since the rest were from different races. One was a Nature Spirit, the other one was a Titan, then an Atlantean, and a Supreme. Those were the four’s respective races.

The tall handsome man opened his eyes. His connection with the lizard was cut off by his target.

“He’s sharp. He’s probably someone not easy to deal with,” the tall handsome man mused to himself.

If his target turned out to be too troublesome, then he’d just give up on him and focus on the other weaker participants instead. It would not be worth it going all out in this stage when there were still three more stages ahead. If he overexerted himself, he would be too exhausted to continue to the other stages. That was something he must not allow to happen.

“I’ll have to check him out myself just to make sure.”

The three-headed six-armed man was about to give the last blow to his opponent when his opponent suddenly vanished right in front of him.

His fist hit nothing but thin air since his opponent disappeared, only leaving behind a card that had fallen on the ground.

“Oh…”

It would seem that his opponent was teleported back to the coliseum by the emperor. Well, that might have been a good thing for his opponent since he was able to save his life. Had the emperor been a second too late in teleporting him, his opponent would surely lose his life.

“Too bad, he got away,” his right head said in disappointment.

“That’s fine as well or else we might get disqualified for killing him,” his left head responded.

He picked up the card left behind by his opponent. This was the second card he got. He had to get three more cards to pass this round.

He didn’t even consider going after his target since it would be too much of a hassle to find them. There were more than 900 people in this city. Instead of finding a single person who had his target number, it would be much better to defeat five random guys instead and take their cards. That would be the fastest way to achieving victory.

A huge man who was as big as a small building slapped his opponent like a normal person would to a fly. Although he was big, he was by no means slow. He was much faster than most participants in the Golden Dragon Election. Not only that, he was the strongest too when speaking purely about physical strength.

“Too weak,” he said to his opponent who was buried in the ground.

His opponent couldn’t even speak. He didn’t know how many bones he had broken but he was sure that it was a lot. He couldn’t help but curse in his mind. Out of all people, why did he have to meet this guy? This Titan was too strong and he was too unlucky for encountering him. None of his attacks worked on him. It was like his body was made of a very sturdy rock. It didn’t even tickle him.

“D-Damn… it!” he managed to voice out before he was teleported back to the coliseum.

The Titan didn’t mind his opponent's words. He simply picked up his card and then walked away with his feet making a loud rumbling sound each step.

“As expected of our participants from the other races. They are far stronger than your average human,” Da Peng said with a wide smile.

‘Average human…’ the participants backstage couldn’t help but make a wry face. Normally, they were considered geniuses by many but in this place where there were many monstrous geniuses, they could only be considered average indeed when compared to them.
