Half an hour later, Yun Ling stood up from his seat as he went towards Snow Fang who was keeping an eye on his students.
“Snow Fang,” he called out as he came over.
“Yes, Young Master?” Snow Fang asked as he turned his attention from the students to Yun Ling.
“I’m going back to the capital. Do not let your eyes off of them,” Yun Ling said.
“Understood,” Snow Fang responded.
During the past three days, Yun Ling would regularly return to the Yun Clan thrice a day: once in the morning; once in the afternoon; and once in the evening. It was so he could visit Yue Dongmei and see how she was doing. Yun Ling felt responsible for her so even though they were going away to train, he still made sure to come to visit her.
Aside from feeling responsible, it was also part of his agreement with his daughter, Yun Xia. The little girl originally wanted to stay at Yue Dongmei’s side until she got better but since her father was going to train her, she made Yun Ling promise to regularly visit Yue Dongmei.
After talking to Snow Fang, Yun Ling called his students out, “I’m going away for a bit so you guys better behave while I’m away and focus on cultivating, okay? If I hear from Snow Fang here that someone is slacking off, there will be some punishment. Do you understand?”
“Yes, Young Master!”
“Papa, stay safe!” Yun Xia said.
Yun Ling smiled at that.
“Well then, I’m off.”
…
Inside Yue Dongmei’s room, the woman that Yun Ling had assigned to take care of Yue Dongmei heard someone knock on the door.
She immediately went over to open the door the moment she heard that.
“Ah, Young Master Yun Yi! What are you doing here?” she asked in surprise upon seeing Yun Yi.
Yun Yi smiled at her.
“The last time Young Master came here, he told me to watch over her and stay guard in case something happens. I only came here just now because I had to do some errands for the Clan Master then but now that I’m done with that, I’m finally free to come here,” Yun Yi said with a natural face.
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
“I see. Come in then, Young Master Yun Yi,” the woman said as she stepped aside and let Yun Yi inside.
“Ah, that’s right,” Yun Yi exclaimed as he dug something out of his pocket.
“What is it, Young Master Yun Yi?” she asked while raising a brow at him.
“Young Master told me to give this to you. He wants you to buy everything written in here,” he said as he handed her a piece of paper with the names of spiritual herbs written on it.
The woman received the paper and read everything inside.
“And here’s the money,” he added and gave her a pouch full of spirit stones. “The change is yours.”
The woman checked the spirit stones.
She recognized some spiritual herbs that were written on the paper while there were some that she didn’t know of. However, judging from the number of spirit stones that Yun Yi had given to her and the price of the spiritual herbs that she knew of, she estimated that there would still be hundreds of spirit stones left after buying everything on the list.
“I’ll be heading off then,” the woman said as she bowed to him. She didn’t have second thoughts of leaving Yue Dongmei since Yun Yi was there. She didn’t know him all that much but she knew just how much Yun Ling and the clan master trusted him. Moreover, since Yun Ling told him to come over and guard Yue Dongmei, she could be at ease doing the errand that Yun Ling had given to her through Yun Yi.
Yun Yi watched her while she was leaving. When he was finally sure that the woman had finally left, he closed the door and locked it.
He walked straight to where Yue Dongmei was and stood over just beside her bed. He had a cold expression on his face as he looked at Yue Dongmei with an icy gaze.
The beautiful woman before him was a threat to his, and the fourth prince’s plan. The fourth prince wanted to make a move against Yun Xia but it wasn’t easy to do so with Yue Dongmei always staying at her side. He had been waiting for the opportunity to deal with her for a while already that was why he was pleased when Yue Dongmei suffered a backlash.
Still, she might be unconscious now but he didn’t know when she would wake up. It would be detrimental to their plan if she wakes up sooner than they expected. That was why if he could, it was much better to deal with her now to avoid future annoyances.
And when Yue Dongmei was finally gone, the fourth prince could finally make a move on Yun Xia to deal a blow to Yun Ling.
Yun Yi took out a knife that he had been hiding under his robe the whole time.
…
Yun Ling knocked on the door to Yue Dongmei’s room.
Though the mountain was quite far away from the capital even if it was the nearest one, it only took him a few minutes from there to arrive in their clan.
Suddenly, he let out a frown.
It was taking the servant long to open the door.
Just as he was about to force the door open, Yun Yi opened the door from the inside.
“Yun Yi? What are you doing here?” Yun Ling asked when he saw his cousin there instead of the servant that he assigned to watch over Yue Dongmei.
“Nothing, Young Master. I heard that she suffered a backlash from going against the oath she made. I simply came here to inspect her and study how the backlash was affecting her body. I’m quite interested with how the people in the upper realm make their oaths and the punishment that goes with it if they happen to break it,” Yun Yi said smoothly.
“Is that so?” Yun Ling asked with a cold look on his face. “Where’s the servant that was taking care of her?”
“I sent her away to do some errands.”
