The woman crossed her arms in front of her just in time as a fire boulder hit her, launching her to the back as the fire boulder broke upon impact.
Her feet skidded on the ground, trying to balance herself as she sent a glare to the handsome man through her veiled hat.
"What is the meaning of this?" she asked with an icy voice that would've made any other person go cold if they heard it,
Sadly, the handsome man in front of her wasn't one to be affected with that for he had long since gotten accustomed to her frosty voice.
"You know exactly what's the meaning of this," the handsome man said with an easy-going smile. "But I'll say it anyway. I want to make you and this treasure mine. Even if I have to use force to do that. Both of you are going to be my possessions and there is nothing you can do about it."
The woman looked at him coldly.
"Even if you defeat me, I will never submit to you."
The handsome man licked his lips.
"That's fine with me. I enjoy the challenge of breaking a strong-willed woman like you the most," he said with a sinister voice.
The floor around the woman suddenly turned into ice as a blue staff made of ice materialized in her hand.
She pointed the tip of her staff to the man.
The man smiled at that.
"This will be the first time the two of us will fight each other seriously."
"And this will be the last," the woman coldly said, a cold mist appearing all over the place which originated from the woman's staff. It showed just how cold the staff was to make the floor freeze and the air misty.
The man scoffed.
"Come at me."
...
The god stopped in his tracks as he dropped Yun Ling and Snow Fang on the ground.
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
The reason why he stopped was due to the strong barrier that was blocking their way to the Heavenly Grand Treasure.
"This is quite a big formation. I believe whoever did this set this up for months. There's just no way a mortal can create a big formation like this in a matter of days or weeks," the god muttered with narrowed eyes. "What's more... there's also that formation above."
After he finished speaking, he looked up the sky to see a large formation that spanned over the entirety of the Thousand Mountain Valley.
Rumbles of lightning could be heard above from those formations.
An amused smile appeared on his face.
"Whoever did this sure thought this through, however, something like this won't be able to stop me for long. Even if it can stop me, there's no way they'll get the treasure. It's not something anybody can just take. They might even lose their life if they aren't careful."
On the ground, Snow Fang and Yun Ling didn't register his words since they were both busy with something else. Snow Fang was incredibly worried about Yun Ling, and Yun Ling...
He was in too much pain to listen.
Since the pillar of light appeared, his eyes hut but now, they were hurting even more as they got closer to the pillar of light. He felt miserable. His head was hurting while his ears were ringing painfully. The pain in his eyes was affecting the other parts of his body. His ears and head were hurting and his body felt incredibly weak.
It was taking his all just to stop himself from plucking his eyes out to save himself from his misery.
The god seemed to be unconcerned regarding his condition as he completely ignored Yun Ling while focusing all his attention on the barrier before him.
After looking at the barrier for a few minutes, he cocked his fist back and then punched the barrier, making the ground around them shake while the barrier flickered with blue light for a few seconds.
The formations in the sky suddenly targeted the god as dozens of lightning bolts descended upon him after he punched the barrier.
The god merely looked at the lightning with disinterest before flicking the lightning bolts away with the back of his hand.
For the god, that kind of lightning would only tickle him. It was practically a joke in his eyes.
However, for those who weren't a god, that lightning was incredibly dangerous as it could kill a Sacred King instantly if they got hit by just a single bolt of lightning.
Snow Fang looked at the god in wariness. He could see that his young master's pain was worsening as they got closer to the Heavenly Grand Treasure so based on that logic, they would just have to go far away from the Heavenly Grand Treasure to lessen the pain or make it stop.
He doubted that the god would allow them though... escaping also wasn't an option since the god was far stronger and probably, much faster than them.
...
Inside the barrier, the two frowned when the barrier started flickering like crazy for a few seconds.
That wasn't supposed to happen. Even if it was the Immortal Willow Tree attacking their barrier, it wouldn't be able to make the barrier flicker like that. The fact that it did meant that there was something out there attacking their barrier with a power stronger than that of an immortal.
It was a worrying thought.
They had to finish their fight as soon as possible before their barrier got destroyed by whoever it was that was attacking it.
