Chapter 204 - The Beginning of War

The Immortal Willow Tree who was at the Thousand Mountain Valley focused its attention on a specific direction.

Coming from the east, it could feel the presence of thousands of people heading towards the Thousand Mountain Valley speedily. It could also feel that majority of the Sacred Kings in the World of Terra were among those thousands of people.

'Annoying ants,' it thought to itself in disdain.

Though the Immortal Willow Tree was sure that they wouldn't be able to defeat him despite their superior numbers, it didn't really want to engage in a fight with them as it was trying to preserve its strength for the stronger enemies that would surely come to fight over the treasure with it.

After all, if an immortal like him could come to the World of Terra which was supposedly off-limits to people with cultivation realm over the Sacred King Realm, there was no reason that other people with cultivation realm surpassing the Sacred King Realm also couldn't come over.

What was more was that there was still the one who stopped his leaves when he tried getting rid of some insects in the past, roaming around the Thousand Mountain Valley freely.

'I suppose I should get rid of them now and take them out by surprise,' it thought to itself as hundreds of its leaves fell off its body and flew to the air. Then with a mental command, the hundreds of leaves flew speedily towards the east.

...

The Law God Sect's sect master who was inside the leading ship frowned.

Their formations embedded inside their ships responsible for detecting spiritual arts inside a hundred-kilometer radius were giving off warnings like crazy.

'Could it be that the immortal already noticed us?' he thought to himself as his frown deepened.

They weren't even at the Thousand Mountain Valley yet, in fact, they were still quite far away from it. They couldn't even see that place even from their current position which was high up in the sky almost at the level of the clouds which showed just far they were from reaching their intended destination.

"Sect Master, what do we do?" one of his people asked with a terrified voice when he saw how their formations were acting. It was blinking with a bright, red light every second while giving off loud sounds, indicating the level of danger they were currently in.

"Relay my orders to the other ships. Assemble in a wedge formation and activate all the defensive formations inside their ships. Aside from that, tell them to put up all the defensive formations they have in their arsenal and focus it at the front," the sect master calmly said.

In that situation, it wouldn't do well if their leader was going to panic. It would only make the others fall into chaos if he was that incompetent.

"Understood."

A few minutes after relaying his orders, the other ships followed his command. All the flying ships quickly formed a triangular formation with the Law God Sect's ship leading the tip of the triangle and put up defensive formations at the front.

"Grandmaster Yi Shi, if you may," the sect master said as he looked at the frail and skinny old man who was sitting at his side with his eyes closed the whole time. Among all of the people inside the ship, the old man was truly the only one who was calm even more so than the sect master himself.

"It's been a while since I've let loose so I might be a bit rusty," said Grandmaster Yi Shi as he stood up from his seat and stretched his body.

The sect master looked at the back of his thirteenth generation predecessor and took a deep breath.

Though the old man looked skinny and frail, his back was stout. He was oozing with great power as he slowly walked towards the deck of the flying ship. After getting into the deck, Grandmaster Yi Shi flew outside the ship, his frail body standing in front, leading all the ships behind him.

A few minutes later, everyone behind him could see hundreds of unknown objects coming towards them speedily. Upon a closer inspection, they all noticed that they were leaves and each of those leaves contained power that was far greater than anything they had ever felt before.

'This is an immortal's power!' they thought to themselves with fear and trepidation.

While the others behind him were sacred, Grandmaster Yi Shi remained calm even in the face of those hundreds of leaves.

Grandmaster Yi Shi opened his empty eyes as he focused his empty gaze towards the leaves.

All of the leaves abruptly halted in mid-air, completely stopping in its tracks as if its time had been paused.

"Shatter."

All hundreds of leaves immediately broke into pieces and slowly fell down from the sky.

The people in the ships were shocked and amazed at what just happened. They looked at Grandmaster Yi Shi's back with great respect and fear.

The old man actually managed to stop those leaves which probably came from the immortal all in his lonesome.

Grandmaster Yi Shi stood still for a few seconds before he went back inside the Law God Sect's ship. After landing on the ship, he coughed out blood violently while his empty eyes were dripping with blood.

"Grandmaster, are you okay?" the sect master came to his assistance and asked worriedly.

"I am fine," Grandmaster Yi Shi said, waving off the sect master's concerns. "Haaah, how weak I've become... If I just had my Divine Eyes, a mere immortal wouldn't be of any threat to me..."

The sect master went silent as he listened to the old man speak.

He was aware that Grandmaster Yi Shi had some of his underlings send some people over to the Jin Empire for the Divine Eyes. He was probably planning on stealing the current generation's Divine Eyes for himself to regain his lost powers.

Though Grandmaster Yi Shi's power was a huge asset to the Law God Sect, the sect master didn't want Grandmaster Yi Shi getting his hands of the current generation's Divine Eyes. Grandmaster Yi Shi's influence over the Law God Sect was already big as it was, if he had the Divine Eyes, his influence would only grow and the sect master would've lost some of his authority.

He couldn't allow that to happen.

Grandmaster Yi Shi must die in the Thousand Mountain Valley along with the immortal.
