After the Law God Sect's supreme commander and the old man came to an agreement, the old man relayed their new, temporary alliance to the people under his command.
While they were doing that, the sect master came towards his supreme commander's side and warned him, "Be careful of that man."
There was no need for the sect master to elaborate more on that. The supreme commander knew perfectly what he meant.
As the most powerful sect in the world, their information network was vast. Very few things rarely get past their notice.
The fact that he didn't recognize anyone among those hundreds of people was a good enough indication that they weren't from their world.
If they weren't able to recognize one or two... or maybe a dozen of them, that was fine and understandable since no matter how great their information gathering was, it was unavoidable for there to be some slip-ups.
But not recognizing a single person out of a hundred?
That just didn't make sense...
That was why the supreme commander thought that these people definitely came from other worlds.
During the meeting with the Sacred Kings a week ago, they briefly discussed the situation in the New Dawn Country. They knew that there were a lot of people from the other world coming into their planet using the Gate and that the leader of the New Dawn Country was fighting those people away.
They wanted to send reinforcements there but unfortunately, the formation that surrounded the entirety of the New Dawn Country's territory prevented them from going inside. To get in, they would have to send at least a dozen Sacred Kings to break the formation from outside. That was something they couldn't afford.
With them, about to go to war with the immortal, they need all Sacred Kings they could get to in their ranks. They couldn't spare anyone to go and assist the New Dawn Country especially since they couldn't enter it as long as the formation was there.
Besides, the immortal was a much bigger threat than them. Alone, the immortal could conquer their world as long as it put its mind to it. Those people, however, were just like them. They would have to bring in a massive army if they wanted to do that but even if they really wanted to conquer their world, they couldn't afford it.
It was because they would have to go through the Gate. And the Gate was... quite expensive. Normal people couldn't afford to use it at all. Only those wealthy ones with too much money to spare could.

There were too many attempts of conquest from the other worlds in the past but they all gave up in the end. It was too expensive.
It was the same for them. They also planned on going to other worlds in the past to wage war on them. The result was, they didn't proceed with their plan since it was way too expensive. Traveling to other world was already expensive as it was, add into that going back to their world after waging war on that world...
It truly just wasn't worth it.
Though their presence in their world was worrying especially in these times, it wasn't as worrying as the immortal who could single-handedly take them all out if they weren't careful. Heck, even if they were careful, there was no guarantee that they could win against it.
"I will, Sect Master," he said.
They might be in an alliance but it was a fragile one that could break any moment especially if they finally defeated the immortal. He was fine with that though. They were just using each other. As long as the other hadn't outlived their use, they wouldn't make a move against the other.
...
"Lord... should we really team up with these people?" one of the old man's subordinates asked.
The old man nodded.
"It is worrying. When we were stuck in the New Dawn Country, we received news of an immortal's presence in the Thousand Mountain Valley where the treasure is. If it is just us, we will surely have a hard time against the immortal who most likely came here for the treasure too. That is why we must team up with them to avoid as many casualties to our side as possible," the old man answered. "My mission is not only to get the treasure but also to bring as much of you younglings as I can back to our world."
"Lord..."
"Anyway, this alliance has a lot of benefits to our side. With our alliance with them, the various races from other worlds will have second thoughts on attacking us since we are currently with the people from the World of Terra," the old man explained.
No matter how confident those people were of their own abilities, they wouldn't willingly fight two forces on their own. The people from the World of Terra might only be Sacred Kings but their number was vast since they were in their territory. They would easily lose to the Sacred Kings even if their cultivation realm was a bit higher than theirs.
"Tell the others to not antagonize them since we're allies for now."
"Right away."
...
After the supreme commander talked to the sect master and the old man to his people, the two met up and discussed strategies with each other, all the while their subordinates were keeping off the Willow Tree Saplings from them.
As for the eight, humongous branches, they didn't move. It merely stood tall in the distance, observing the newcomers on the battlefield while sending waves and waves of Willow Tree Saplings to test them.
When the two were done discussing their strategies, the old man looked at the branches and had a wry smile.
"Those branches... it isn't taking us seriously at all. It is confident that we won't be able to do anything against it."
"And its confidence isn't unfounded. We've already eliminated hundreds of thousands of its saplings and destroyed some of its branches yet I can see no end to it. I don't know how many branches it still has. Hundreds? Thousands? Tens of thousands? Hundreds of thousands? Maybe it can even regenerate its destroyed branches."
The old man listened to his words and frowned.
Even though he was just a realm below an immortal, the distance between them was so great that it wasn't funny anymore.
With a sigh, he said, "Let's go and destroy those eight branches first and then find the immortal later."
"I agree."
