Chapter 259

Suddenly, Yun Ling grimaced as he felt an intense, throbbing pain in the head.

He felt a strong sense of déjà vu like he had already been in this situation before. In an instant, he came up with a conclusion on his own why he felt that way.

In the past, there were times he felt that he had really important dreams but he couldn't remember anything about those dreams after waking up. Perhaps, his ability Divination had already been in effect back then but since he hadn't gained proper control over it, he couldn't remember.

He had no way of knowing for sure since he couldn't remember it but that was the most logical explanation he could think of.

In any case, that was irrelevant compared to the situation at hand.

An Ancient God was upon them with the power to end their world on its whim if to so wanted! And right now, the Ancient God's huge palm was descending upon them, threatening to wipe everything in the World of Terra out of existence!

Yun Ling gritted his teeth.

"What do we do now? How do we stop this thing then?! It is going to kill all of us! It is going to destroy this world!" Yun Ling spoke angrily through his Divine Sense.

There was no doubt about it. The huge palm had enough power to destroy everything. Even the Thousand Mountain Valley which was a pretty large territory was nothing to it. Even if the palm didn't crush everything in the world, the impact would've killed the others who weren't crushed. Few to none would probably survive.

The boy looked at him intently for a few seconds.

"We have no choice but to leave this world to survive," the boy said calmly. "I can make a portal right here. We shall leave to the Ethereal Realm to avoid the Ancient God's attack."

"Young Master," Snow Fang looked at Yun Ling as he softly called out.

Yun Ling stared at the boy with wide eyes.

What?

Was he telling him to leave this world and go to the Ethereal Realm just so they wouldn't be crushed by the Ancient God?

Then what about the others? What his clan? His students? Snow Fang's son? His family? His daughter? Would he be willing to leave them here just to save his own hide?

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

He wouldn't!

Yun Ling glared at the boy.

"Are you... telling me to escape?" Yun Ling spat out, ignoring the pain that he felt from speaking.

The boy nodded.

"If you want to live, that is the only way."

"Over my dead body," was what Yun Ling said before trying to force himself to stand up.

His entire body hurt. He couldn't even breathe properly. However, he endured it all. Even if the pain was a hundred times worse than that, he would still endure it.

As futile as it might be, he wouldn't go down without trying to fight back. It was at least much better than doing nothing.

Yun Ling didn't really care about the others but the thought of those he cared about... the thought of his daughter dying along with the rest...

If that really happened and he survived while they all died, he would most likely go down a dark path and become a demonic cultivator who cared for nothing but killing and destruction.

He would go insane.

He took a deep breath but he suddenly coughed out a mouthful of blood while clutching his chest.

"Young Master!" Snow Fang called out worriedly.

It was only at this moment that the woman finally arrived beside them. She was already tired after activating the seals in the Thousand Mountain Valley and then fighting her companion drained her even more of her strength that was why it took her a while to get to them.

After arriving, she found Yun Ling that was sweating profusely while looking like he was in great pain. She also saw his eyes transforming into his Divine Eyes while a purple armor slowly formed all over his body.

"What are you planning to do?" the boy asked.

The woman took notice of him and narrowed her eyes. The boy looked young but his voice... it was ancient. He certainly wasn't someone normal.

Yun Ling looked at the boy coldly.

"To do something."

"There's nothing you can do to stop that."

"You're right. But it is much better than doing nothing."

To Yun Ling's surprise, the boy smiled after hearing his response.

"I'm glad," the boy said. "The Divine Being of the Divine Eyes in this generation is much better than the previous ones. The previous Divine Beings would've taken my offer and leave this world to its demise if they were in your position. I can't blame them for thinking for themselves, after all, there's nothing they can do to salvage the situation if they were in your position. If they have the ability, perhaps, they wouldn't have to leave."

"What are you..."

"Still, it's good to see that you're not like the others."

Yun Ling frowned.

"That's because my family, and most especially, my daughter is here. I would rather die than escape and leave them here."

When he said those words, the woman looked at him intently.

'Zi Xia...'

The boy smiled.

"Those Divine Beings... do you think they don't have a family of their own too?" the boy said. "Their status had gone into their heads. As long as they survived, they don't care if anyone dies. That's because they view everyone who is not them, lower than them. Yes, they treat even their own families that."

Yun Ling frowned at him.

"So what is your point here? Why are you telling me this?"

The boy walked past him while saying, "I was testing you, and you passed it. I will save this world even if it costs me my life."
