Both Yun Ling and Snow Fang were shaken by the god's revelation.
The boy that was with them the whole time when they entered the Thousand Mountain Valley was the creator of the cultivation system? Who would've ever thought of that?
For thousands of years, historians, philosophers, cultivators, and many others were curious...
Who created the cultivation system?
How was it created?
For what purpose was it created?
With these questions in mind, they painstakingly searched for an answer.
Some dedicated their entire lives to find out the truth, only to fail. The cultivation system had existed for millions, if not, billions of years already. If there was someone who knew about the cultivation system, they would've already been forgotten, lost in time since long ago. There wasn't even any relic in their world that could give them clue to the creation of the cultivation system.
They didn't have any definite answer but they did come up with numerous theories.
Some said that the cultivation system had always existed. It was just there since the beginning of time. No one created it for it had always existed.
Some said that gods of old pitied the mortals and introduced them to the cultivation system so they could stand up on their own feet and not rely on the gods any longer.
Some said that the cultivation system was created by one of the Twelve Heavenly Grand Treasure, the treasure that could change the laws of the universe.
Then, there were also some that said that the cultivation system was created by a mortal to become a god.
There were still many more theories regarding the cultivation system but the ones above were the ones the theories that nearly everyone knew. Out of all these theories, however, the last one was the one that people disregarded the most.
The mysterious and heaven-defying cultivation system, being created by a mortal? Anyone who heard of that theory would scoff at it. They didn't believe that a mortal was capable of creating such a mysterious system. The most acceptable reason why the cultivation system existed was that it existed since the beginning of time, the same time or even before the creation of the universe.
Now, they learned that the cultivation system was actually created by the boy who was just with a while ago. And all of this came from the words of a god.

Yun Ling didn't really trust this god much but he found it unlikely that he was lying. First and foremost, he saw first-hand just how much he respected that boy with all his being. Next, what would he even gain from lying to them like that?
"Is what you said... true?" Yun Ling asked. Though he thought the god wasn't lying, he was asking just to make sure while observing the god carefully with his Divine Eyes.
"It's up to you whether you believe it or not, however, you must pay more respect to Teacher next time, mortal," the god said with a scoff.
Yun Ling narrowed his eyes. The god didn't show any unnatural expression on his face so judging from that, it was safe to assume that he wasn't lying. However, that wasn't enough. Perhaps, he was just good at keeping a straight face while lying.
"Young Master, is he telling the truth?"
"I don't know, Snow Fang. He didn't seem to be lying but... I just can't trust him," Yun Ling responded to Snow Fang's question.
He then let out a frown.
He decided to ask that boy whether the god's words were true or not the next time they met.
"Hm? There's a slight distortion in the space over there," the god said as he looked at the battlefield from his current position. "Hmm, interesting. Those beings are coming here as well."
"Those beings?"
"You'll find out soon."

The leaders of their own respective army talked to each other through their Divine Senses all while evading the branches that was chasing them. They tried to gather together but they couldn't because of the branches so they settled on just doing that.
"The best time to attack the immortal is right now but do not let down your guard. The immortal is by no means defenseless. If you get careless, it will cost you your life," the sect master of the Law God Sect warned the others.
"Damn these things! These branches are too troublesome!"
The war deity let out a sigh.
"Everyone, someone must go and attack the immortal while the rest will provide assistance to them and not let any of its branches near them. We can't just allow this to continue. We can still dodge them for now but if this continues, we will run out of spiritual energy sooner and we will be easy picking for it. Does anyone want to volunteer?"
"Easy to say but who is going to go and attack the immortal? The one who will do so will be at so much risk that I doubt anyone is going to volunteer."
"Yeah, I saw that human's attempt earlier but he was nearly killed. Going near the immortal is almost suicide."
The war deity sighed once again. This was what he was worried about. He didn't know if anyone would volunteer or not. Someone must volunteer or else, they would be forced to continue this stalemate.
However, since no one was going to volunteer, he had no choice but to do it.
He would be the one to attack the immortal while the rest would provide him assistance. All so they could make progress.
"Since no one is volunteering I guess I—"
"I'll do it."
"..."
"..."
They were a bit surprised when the leader of the supremes volunteered.
"I have already fought the immortal before and survived. I'm the one with the best chance of survival compared to you all," the supreme said proudly. "Besides, I want to beat that shitty immortal myself."
"I volunteer too."
This time, they heard the titans' leader speak.
"I'm volunteering so our chances of defeating the immortal will increase."
"... Suit yourself," the supreme said.
The war deity nodded.
"Here's the plan."
