"Xiaxia's grandfather, huh? He's a sect master?" Yun Ling muttered to himself with his eyes glinting in cold light.
Thanks to Yue Dongmei, he now knew how Yun Xia's grandfather used to treat her back in their home. Yun Ling was so angry upon knowing it that his entire body had gone cold. He was filled with silent rage as he thought of the pleasant things he was going to do when he encountered Yun Xia's maternal grandfather.
Yue Dongmei nodded.
"We are from the Spirit Sect in the Ethereal Realm. It is one of the biggest sects there," Yue Dongmei said.
"The sect master of the Spirit Sect..." Yun Ling muttered to himself before coldly saying, "I would love to meet that guy.
Even though the Spirit Sect's sect master was his daughter's maternal grandfather, he wasn't going to show him any mercy because of what he had done to his daughter. Because of that guy, Yun Xia's life was miserable in that sect.
Yue Dongmei gave him a disapproving look.
"I know that you are angry at him... I am too. I wanted nothing more than to beat some sense to him for my mistress and my young miss' sake," Yue Dongmei said bitterly. "But he's not the sect master for nothing. He is too strong. As you are now, you are nothing to him."
Yue Dongmei had already lost count on how many times she wanted to make a move on the sect master because of his treatment of her mistress and her young miss but she held herself back. It was because nothing good would come out from it.
If she tried to fight him, she would only lose miserably. She might even get dismissed from her post or worse, get killed. What she had to do was to endure and remain strong so she could remain at her mistress and her young miss' side and take care of them. If she was replaced with someone else by the sect master, her young miss' life would only be more miserable.
Yun Ling exhaled deeply.
What Yue Dongmei said, how could he not know that? He couldn't even beat a sect master in their world, how much more a sect master in the Ethereal Realm? If a sect master was that easy to defeat to begin with, they wouldn't have become a sect master.
That was why no matter how angry he was right now, he had to endure and wait until he got stronger. Strong enough to defeat Yun Xia's grandfather.
"You said you were an inner court disciple... what was your cultivation realm before coming here? I can see that you're only in the Four Transformation Realm right now. Surely, their requirements for their disciple there must be much higher than it is here, right?" Yun Ling asked and change their topic.

In the World of Terra, if a disciple reached the Spirit Awakening Realm before the age of thirty, they would become an outer court disciple if they joined a sect; if they reached the Core Formation Realm within the same time frame, they would be promoted as inner court disciples; Four Transformation Realm and they would become core disciples.
That was how it was in most sects of the world. As for the Law God Sect, they were much stricter.
In the Law God Sect, one must be at the Core Formation Realm to become a core disciple; for an inner court disciple, Four Transformations Realm; as for becoming core disciples, at least late stage of the Four Transformation Realm.
If the Law God Sect had that kind of requirement, the requirements in the higher realm must surely be stricter than the lower realm.
"I was in the middle stage of the Mortal Lord Realm before coming here," Yue Dongmei said. "I damaged my cultivation realm and went back a single realm so we can travel to this world much easier."

"People from Ethereal Realm cannot come here using The Gate, however, we have a treasure in our sect that has the same function as The Gate. We came here through that treasure. The sect master temporarily lent it to my mistress because of her mission in this world..."
"To travel to this world using that treasure, we used up a lot of resources we have. What's more is that the higher the cultivation realm of the individual using that treasure, the greater the resources we have to use," Yue Dongmei said. "Because we came to this world without the sect master's knowledge, he wasn't able to provide resources for us to use for that treasure. Not that he would give us if he knew... if we told him, he would've put us under surveillance. That was why I willingly let myself fall back into the Four Transformation Realm to reduce the number of resources we have to use because the resources we have weren't enough for me to travel with my original cultivation realm. If I could, I would've abolished my cultivation realm altogether to save more but I didn't. If I did, I wouldn't be able to protect the young miss anymore."
Yun Ling looked at Yue Dongmei admirably. Not many people could do what she had done. To willingly go back one realm after people tried so hard to ascend to the next realm... they were people worthy of his respect just like the monk in the Great Buddhist Monastery who let himself fall down to the Fate Dominion Realm from the Sacred King Realm just so he could stay back and protect the monastery while Tathagata and the others were away.
"Can you tell me how I and your mistress met? No matter how hard I thought about it, I just couldn't remember sleeping with someone from Ethereal Realm," Yun Ling said.
"That's something I cannot answer. If you want to know, you should ask my mistress," Yue Dongmei said. "She's currently in the Thousand Mountain Valley. If you have more questions, you can go ask her personally. However, I don't advise you to go to that place. The Thousand Mountain Valley is too dangerous right now because of the Heavenly Grand Treasure there."
"Thousand Mountain Valley, huh?" Yun Ling muttered as he furrowed his brows. "Very well, I shall go to the Thousand Mountain Valley."
After saying that, Yun Ling stood up from his seat and walked towards the door.
"Where are you going?" Yue Dongmei asked.
"To get permission from my daughter," Yun Ling answered with a smile.
Though he had promised Yun Xia that he wouldn't go anymore, circumstances had changed. He had to go there and talk to Yun Xia's mother personally. He imagined that it wouldn't be hard to convince Yun Xia since he was going there to meet with her beloved mama.
