"Mortal, what did you say?" the god asked with a dangerous tone.

"You heard me," Yun Ling responded fearlessly. "You are worthless as a god. Even mortals have more use than someone like you. Someone with power yet refuses to do something when he can change many things just by simply helping."

Snow Fang looked at his young master worriedly.

'Young Master, I think you shouldn't antagonize him too much,' he advised telepathically.

At the side, the woman shared the same sentiment as Snow Fang and also looked at Yun Ling worriedly, though they really didn't know that since her face was covered.

While the others were worried, the handsome man was hoping for something else. He hoped for Yun Ling to get killed by the god so deep in his mind, he was encouraging him to offend the god even more.

Normally, Yun Ling would have agreed with Snow Fang and definitely wouldn't do that to someone who far outclassed him, however, he was far too angry to care. What the god said made his blood boil which was clouding his judgment.

"I owe nothing to you, mortals. Why should I help you? What do I gain from it?" the god asked, trying to keep his temper in check lest he killed Yun Ling and break his promise with his teacher.

Yun Ling looked at him emotionlessly.

Then without saying anything, a pair of purple wings appeared on his back before he flew towards the asteroids.

"Where are you going?"

Yun Ling still didn't say anything. Instead, he sped up towards the asteroids.

"Are you perhaps trying to destroy those asteroids all by yourself? Give up, mortal. There's nothing you can do."

Still not saying any word, he sped up even more.

The god narrowed his eyes.

"There's no way a puny mortal like you can destroy those asteroids on your own. You're lucky if you can destroy some of them but tens of thousands? You are going to die—" the god's eyes widened when finally realized what Yun Ling was planning. "Bastard, are you trying to die?!"

Yun Ling scoffed before going towards the asteroids at full speed.

Snow Fang and the woman who was confused at what he was going to do at first were also surprised upon hearing the god's words.

'So that's it!' Snow Fang thought. 'Young Master is gambling whether the god will save him or not because of his promise to his teacher! But will the god really save him?'

It was a gamble because they didn't know whether the god would really save him or not.

The woman gritted her teeth. She didn't know of the god's promise to his teacher so in her eyes, Yun Ling was being foolish for risking his life unnecessarily.

Only the handsome man was happy for the action that Yun Ling took.

'That's right! Go kill yourself! You're dead now! Do you really think that the god will save you? You two looked like you hate each other's guts! There's no way the god will help you, Divine Being or not!' he thought.

However, contrary to what the handsome man and woman were thinking, they heard the god speak.

"Bastard! Come back right here right now!" the god called out to Yun Ling.

The two looked at the god with some confusion.

Why was he telling Yun Ling to come back? They thought he wouldn't care whether Yun Ling died or not. Could it be they were mistaken?

Seeing that Yun Ling wasn't listening to him, black, liquid-like wings appeared on the god's back as he followed after Yun Ling.

Snow Fang sighed in relief. It looked like the god really honored his promise to his teacher to keep Yun Ling safe.

A purple armor appeared all over Yun Ling's body as he got near the closest asteroid. He was about to destroy the asteroid with his most destructive supreme art when suddenly, the asteroid in front of him got consumed by a liquid-like substance before disappearing into nothingness.

Yun Ling looked at the god who was just behind him, looking very angry.

"How dare you use me?!"

"But you were the one who decided to save me. I didn't ask you to do that. That was all your choice. Completely voluntary on your part. That's why don't say that I used you," Yun Ling said coldly.

The god scoffed before deciding to destroy the other asteroids.

Yun Ling might try to risk his life again if he didn't destroy those things. Though he was confident that he could stop Yun Ling from moving any further, he was afraid that Yun Ling would do a more direct approach and really try to kill himself if he tried to stop him.

He didn't like it but he had no choice but to do it. All just to keep his words to his teacher.

One by one, the asteroids in the sky were consumed by a black, liquid substance that came out from the god's body.

"You owe me for this, Mortal. And a debt with a god is something that you can—!"

Whatever the god was going to say, he wasn't able to finish it since he literally disappeared from his spot.

Yun Ling didn't know where the god had gone to.

While the god was able to destroy the majority of the asteroids, there were still a hundred asteroids descending to the Thousand Mountain Valley with great speed.

The god frowned when he found himself in a completely different place.

"So I was teleported..." he said to himself before his eyes fell upon a certain someone. "I take it you were the one who took me into this place, God of Light?"

Said God of Light responded simply, "You have grown weaker, God of Shadow. As you are now, you are no match for me."

"Perhaps," the god said. "But you're going to suffer badly even while I'm weakened."
