Chapter 203 - Time For War

Law God Sect

World of Terra

After the Sacred Kings held their meeting inside the stadium, they immediately relayed most of the important key points to their companions.

The Jin Empire Emperor gathered his men and told them the possible strategies they were going to take along with Yu Yinyi at the side. When the emperor was done speaking, he let Yu Yinyi take in the reigns.

"I will be dividing all of the Sacred Kings here into three groups; one group will be placed at the frontline along with the groups from the other sects and empires; the other group will be placed at the middle; while the last group will serve as a rearguard and also provide assistance to those at the middle and at the frontline with long-ranged attacks when needed," Yu Yinyi said after a careful discussion with the emperor.

The emperor didn't really have a problem dividing their forces since it was also what was decided in the meeting earlier. Each faction would have to send out a group of Sacred Kings that would be placed at the frontline to spearhead the attack; another group at the middle; and another group that would be assigned in the rear. With that in mind, what he and Yu Yinyi discussed more was who was going to be in those groups.

It took them a few hours before they decided on who was going to each group.

Yu Yinyi started distributing each family in the empire to a group. For example, the head of the Luo Family was placed at the group that was going to be assigned at the middle while the strongest in their clan was placed at the group for the frontline. As for the weaker Sacred Kings, they were in the group meant for the rear.

There was quite some resistance in the distribution especially the Sacred Kings who were placed in the frontline, however, upon hearing that Yu Yinyi himself was also going to the frontline, they no longer voiced out their dissatisfactions.

Eventually, Yu Yinyi looked in the direction of the Yun Clan and said, "Senior Yun Wei, you will be going to the frontline with me."

Yun Wei didn't show any reaction at that. He just let out a nod while the expression on his face remained as serious as ever.

As for Yun Zhan and Yun Cang, they both gave their father a worried glance.

"Yun Zhan and Yun Cang, the both of you are going to be placed at the middle," Yu Yinyi said.

Yun Zhan let out a sigh. If he could, he would rather exchange positions with his father. He would like it more if he was in the front while his father was in the middle. Yun Cang was also worried for his father. He felt the same as Yun Zhan.

After assigning a position to Yun Zhan and Yun Cang, Yu Yinyi's gaze went towards the other Sacred Kings in the Yun Clan.

Two more of the Yun Clan's Sacred Kings were placed at the frontline along with Yun Wei. That would make it a total of three Sacred Kings from the Yun Clan alone being placed in the frontline. Then, some were placed at the middle group while most of the Yun Clan's Sacred Kings were placed in the group that was going to be assigned in the rear.

When Yu Yinyi was done assigning the Sacred Kings into a group, he turned his attention on the top ten of the Golden Dragon Election minus one since Yun Ling wasn't there.

"All of you will be assigned at the rear," Yu Yinyi said. "We don't really expect you to do anything since the best among you guys are only at the Mortal Lord Realm. Your job is to stay safe and observe the war. This is merely to broaden your horizons and let you see what war is first-hand. Do you understand?"

"Yes, Sir!"

"Now then, let's talk about the various formations that we might have to employ in the war. Memorize it first. Later, we will go out and practice these formations until we are all familiar with it," Yu Yinyi said. "This is not too different from the usual formations that we use in our empire so this would be easy."

...

"Yun Zhan, where is your son?" the emperor asked after their meeting was done. The rest of the Sacred Kings had already left except for Yun Zhan since he made him stay behind.

Yun Zhan looked at the emperor and sighed.

"Your Majesty, my son went to the Great Buddhist Monastery. He told me he would come here with the monks. I already asked Tathagata about him but... it would seem Yun Ling didn't come with them. Instead, he remained in the Great Buddhist Monastery."

The emperor frowned.

"We will speak about this once again after the war. For now, you are dismissed," he said as he waved his hand.

Yun Zhan paid his respects for the last time before leaving.

...

While the emperor was talking to Yun Zhan, Yu Yinyi was talking to Yun Yi, Yu Shan, and the crown prince regarding the commotion that they had caused outside the stadium.

With a smile, Yun Yi defended himself, "I can't help it. They came looking for a fight so I gave them one."

Yu Yinyi gave him a deep look.

"The witnesses said that you were the first one to strike."

"A fight was inevitable so I might as well strike first to get an advantage."

Yu Yinyi stared at him speechlessly for a few seconds before looking at the other two.

"How about you two? Why did you fight the Law God Sect's core disciples?"

"Father, one of them was going to sneak attack Yun Yi here. We did what was right and stopped him," Yu Shan said

"If he didn't try to attack Yun Yi, we wouldn't have made a move," the crown prince added.

Yu Yinyi rolled his eyes at them but there was nothing he could do since it was all in the past.

"Forget it. His Majesty will deal with you three later," Yu Yinyi said. "We're done here. You can now leave."

...

And so, a week had passed.

In that single week, the entire Law God Sect was silent and tense as they prepared for the war against the immortal. Although everyone had different affiliations, they were all cooperating with each other for the upcoming war that they were going to participate in.

"What a sight," Yu Shan said in awe as he looked at the hundreds of huge flying ships around him, flying towards the Thousand Mountain Valley in unison.

It was finally time to go to the Thousand Mountain Valley and start the war.
