Chapter 162 - The Man Behind the Fourth Prince

The fourth prince was currently taking a sip of his tea on the balcony of his mansion accompanied by his beautiful servants.

When he saw Yun Yi enter the mansion from the balcony, he let out a smile as he placed his cup on the table. He looked at his beautiful servant and said, “Bring him here.”

“As you wish, Your Highness,” was what the servant said before leaving to get Yun Yi.

“Well, well, Yun Yi… I wonder what kind of news did you bring to me this time? Hopefully, it’s something good,” the fourth prince muttered to himself as he patiently waited for Yun Yi to arrive on the balcony.

The last time Yun Yi came to the fourth prince’s mansion was to inform him of Yun Ling leaving to the mountains with his seven students and his daughter to train. As for which mountain, Yun Yi didn’t know since Yun Ling didn’t tell him which mountain they went to.

Now, the fourth prince was pleased with the news that Yun Yi had brought with him.

“You’re telling me that you’ve finally dealt with the woman who was always around Yun Ling’s daughter? The woman that he brought with him in the banquet?” the fourth prince asked with a bright look on his face.

“Yes, Your Highness,” Yun Yi said. “I also made sure that anyone wouldn’t find out that there was something wrong with her either.”

The fourth prince laughed.

“Haha, good, good! That’s good! As expected of the man that I thought highly of!” the fourth prince said happily. “Servants! What are you standing around for? Pour some tea to Yun Yi here.”

“Forgive us, Your Highness,” the servants monotonously said before serving Yun Yi.

“Actually, Your Highness… Yun Ling almost caught me at the last second,” Yun Yi added which made the fourth prince froze. “He is starting to have some suspicions on me. When he found me in the room, he inspected Yue Dongmei to see if I had done anything to her. However, after inspecting Yue Dongmei with his Divine Eyes, even he didn’t find anything wrong.”

The fourth prince calmed down when Yun Yi had finished speaking.

“You almost made me worried there, Yun Yi,” the fourth prince admitted. “So Yun Ling is finally suspecting you, huh? Do you think he knows that you’re working under me now?”

“I’m not sure but I won’t be surprised if he does know,” Yun Yi responded. “Also, if I do anything that will make him suspect me even more, he will certainly finally take action against me. I suggest that we lay low for a while since he’s on full alert against us now.”

The fourth prince nodded at him.

“Oh well… let’s do that. I have already decided when to make a move against Yun Ling and it wouldn’t happen anytime soon so you can finally take a rest,” the fourth prince said. “For now, just act as my eyes inside the clan. After all, that wretched clan master of yours tightened the security around the Yun Clan after he noticed one of my people spying on your clan.”

“I understand, Your Highness,” Yun Yi said and bowed at him.

“I am very pleased with your performance so far, Yun Yi,” the fourth prince said appreciatively. “Soon, I will introduce you to my patron who had been supporting me from behind the scenes. Like me, he also thought highly of you. He wants to meet you himself.”

Yun Yi’s eyes narrowed at that.

The fourth prince’s patron!

As the least remarkable son of the emperor, the fourth prince was supposed to be the one with the least wealth and the weakest authority. However, it was probably because of that patron of his that the fourth prince could give him resources that the other princes couldn’t. It was also most likely thanks to his patron that the fourth prince could order around five experts at the Four Transformation realm to assassinate Yun Ling while performing the task that the emperor gave him for the Golden Dragon Election.

Though in the end, Yun Ling and those experts didn’t encounter each other because Yun Ling was in the Thousand Mountain Valley whereas the five Four Transformation realm experts were waiting at the border of the empire for Yun Ling.

“I’m flattered, Your Highness.”

“You should leave now. Yun Ling would probably get more suspicious if you stay here any longer.”

“I will then. Thanks a lot, Your Highness,” Yun Yi added before leaving.

When Yun Yi had finally left, the fourth prince asked with a smile on his face, “So how was he? Was he to your liking?”

“Hohoho, indeed he was,” a hunchback old man said as he slowly went over to the fourth prince’s side. Behind him, a person was standing in the darkness the whole time.

“I’m glad that you appreciate him just as well as I do,” the fourth prince said. “Actually, though I thought highly of him, I didn’t think he would win against Yun Ling in the finals.”

The hunchback old man sighed as he said with a smile, “Young and powerful… young and powerful. Watching those youngsters fight in the Golden Dragon Election… it made this old man reminisce the old days. I’m so envious I wanted to kill them. I want to cut off their limbs and slowly torture them to their death. Ah, imagine how good it will feel to have their blood flow down my body.”

The fourth prince almost let out a shiver as he looked at the old man in front of him. Luckily, he held out in the end.

Truth be told, he felt quite uncomfortable in his presence because he knew just how messed up he was. However, for the sake of his ambitions, he didn’t mind dealing with him.

“Do you think Yun Yi can be trusted?” the fourth prince changed the topic. He didn’t want him continuing to talk about how he wanted to torture someone or something.

“This old man doesn’t know,” the hunchback old man said. “To make sure of his true intentions, I would have to talk to him myself for a few times.”

The fourth prince nodded at him.

“As you have ordered, I already told him that he will be meeting you soon. When are you free so I can finally arrange for the two of you to meet each other?”

The hunchback old man smiled and said, “I will be available next weekend.”

“I see… I’ll arrange it then,” the fourth prince said. “Still, you’re only free this weekend. That’s five days from now. I guess it isn’t easy being the Grand Chancellor, huh? Grand Chancellor Zheng Yi? Or should I say, Core Formation Slayer? Which title do you prefer the most?”

Zheng Yi had a wicked grin on his face.

“Call this old man whatever you want.”
