“Yun Yi… what is the meaning of this?” Yun Ling coldly asked without any emotion on his face.
Standing in front of him was the fourth prince looking at him smugly accompanied by some unknown person. Then, behind him was Yun Yi himself who had led him into that place.
They were currently in some abandoned building in the far most part of the capital where Yun Yi had brought him into under the command of the fourth prince.
“It’s nice to see you, Yun Ling. I’m sure you never thought that a day like this would come ever, did you?” the fourth prince said haughtily. He couldn’t help but be pleased with himself. After months of planning, he finally had Yun Ling under his grasp.
However, Yun Ling actually didn’t pay any attention to him.
“So you’ve completely switched over to the fourth prince’s side, huh… Yun Yi?” Yun Ling said, completely ignoring the fourth prince in favor of Yun Yi. “Can I take this as you, betraying us?”
Yun Yi merely smiled at him.
“You can take it however you want, Young Master,” Yun Yi said pleasantly. “But it’s exactly as you see it. As you can see, I’m now on the fourth prince’s side.”
“Is this really what you want, Yun Yi?”
“It doesn’t matter what I want…” Yun Yi started. “What matters is that I’ve finally brought you down.”
“With this pathetic thing’s help?” Yun Ling said as he gestured towards the fourth prince.
A vein bulged on the fourth prince’s temple as he glared at Yun Ling hatefully.
“After ignoring me, you’re now badmouthing me? Do you realize your position right now, Yun Ling?” the fourth prince hissed out through gritted teeth.
Yun Ling seemed to be amused at what the fourth prince said.
“My position? What position? I don’t understand what you mean, Fourth Prince.”
“Currently, your life is in my hands. That’s what I mean, Yun Ling,” the fourth prince said.
“Really? With just you, Yun Yi, and that guy over there? Do you really think you can kill me?”
“What do you think, Young Master?” Yun Yi smiled as he took out his sword.
Yun Ling was also about to take out his sword when suddenly, he felt numb all over his body.
His eyes widened as he looked at Yun Yi.

“What did you do?” he asked as he felt his strength gradually leaving his body.
Yun Yi didn’t have any reaction as he answered his question.
“While I was leading you to this place earlier, I used a scentless perfume that also acts as a poison. I made you inhale it while you were following me,” Yun Yi said showing the bottle of the said perfume in his hand. “It’s a slow-acting poison. It only shows its effect after a certain amount of time.”
Yun Ling smirked.
“Bastard… you got me again, Yun Yi.”
“Don’t hate me for this, Young Master,” Yun Yi said as he raised his sword and then, pierced it towards Yun Ling’s chest.
“Ugh—!”
…
Yun Ling woke up from his sleep while sweating all over his body.
Suddenly, his face flinched when he felt an extreme headache seconds after waking up. He sat up on the bed while he grabbed his head with his hands.
‘Another dream that I couldn’t remember again,’ he thought to himself painfully.
In the past month, he had been experiencing dreams after dreams that he couldn’t remember. He felt that they were extremely important dreams yet he couldn’t recall a single one of them. Then after he got woken up by those dreams, he would suddenly experience extreme headaches that made him want to punch somebody.
A few minutes later, his headache had slowly subsided.
When his headache had gone away, Yun Ling let out a sigh.
Finally! He could finally relax after enduring that pain for several minutes. Yun Ling couldn’t help but be amused a bit by his situation. He was a cultivator and as a cultivator, his pain tolerance was higher than others. However, he actually had a headache that gave him that much pain. It was really strange.
‘I guess I should have our physician check me up.’
He decided that was the best course of action to take. He was going to have it checked as soon as possible in case there was something in his head. It wouldn’t be funny if he had some kind of brain damage or something.
After thinking that, he got up from his bed. There were still four hours to go before the sun rises so it was still dark outside. However, he felt that he could no longer go back to sleep anymore after what had transpired so he decided he would just go out and get some fresh air and cultivate or something.
Before leaving his room though, he made sure to check on his daughter and see if she was sleeping comfortably. Seeing that Yun Xia’s blanket had almost fallen to the ground, he grabbed it and placed it properly on her so she wouldn’t feel cold. After that, he finally went out.
He went towards their courtyard and sat cross-legged in the center. Then, he took a deep breath and began gathering spiritual energy from his surroundings.
The cold midnight air strangely made him feel comfortable. With each breath he took, he felt his brain being cooled down. He felt really calm at that moment and slowly found himself in an extremely good mood.
Unknown to him, the rate at which he was gathering spiritual energy from his surroundings had increased by more than twice his regular speed and it was still increasing with each passing second. Then, the spiritual energy in his surroundings suddenly lit up as it went towards him.
In the courtyard, millions of extremely tiny light orbs that could be seen flying around the surroundings were being sucked by Yun Ling’s body.
Yun Zhan, Yun Wei, and the other Sacred Kings in the clan were disturbed when they felt a strange activity in the courtyard. All of them immediately went outside to check things out, only to see Yun Ling and that peculiar sight.
“This is…” Yun Zhan muttered to himself as he looked at Yun Ling being surrounded by millions of tiny light orbs.
“He’s breaking through,” Yun Wei silently said while suppressing the shock in his heart.
