Chapter 168 - Lightning Tribulation!

Chapter 168 - Lightning Tribulation!

“What’s going on here?” Yun Cang said after arriving at Yun Zhan and Yun Wei’s side.

But before the two could answer, he saw his nephew crazily absorbing the millions of extremely tiny light orbs in his surroundings speedily. Those tiny light orbs were the physical manifestation of the spiritual energy in the surroundings and they were all being sucked by Yun Ling’s body.

“He’s breaking through?” Yun Cang exclaimed.

He was familiar with that phenomenon. After all, he too had once gone through that exact thing. However, judging from what he had seen, the way Yun Ling was breaking through was different from normal.

Normally, there would only be thousands if not, tens of thousands of light orbs manifesting and being absorbed in their body. His nephew, on the other hand, had millions! And it was still increasing! When he had arrived, he estimated there were around five million tiny light orbs but now, it was more than twice that amount!

Yun Cang wasn’t the only one who was shocked at this. Even Yun Zhan, Yun Wei, and the Sacred Kings who were disturbed by Yun Ling’s breakthrough were speechless. Never had they seen someone breakthrough in such a remarkably unique and eye-catching way.

After a few minutes, the entire Yun Clan was filled with hundreds of millions of tiny light orbs that extended far beyond the clan’s territory.

By now, even the emperor and all the Sacred Kings in the capital had taken notice of the anomaly in the Yun Clan and went outside to observe.

The emperor’s eyes brightened when he saw the billions of tiny light orbs around the Yun Clan from his balcony.

“This is… Yun Ling’s breaking through? So this is how a Divine Being breaks through to the Fate Dominion Realm, huh?” the emperor muttered to himself. He then looked at the sky above the Yun Clan and saw an incredibly dense cloud forming over.

“Your Majesty,” Yu Yinyi called out as he appeared behind the emperor.

He was actually resting in the Yu Clan when he felt the tremendous amount of spiritual energy being gathered around in the Yun Clan. He immediately came to the emperor’s side since he was more than sure that the emperor had noticed it too.

“You’re here,” the emperor stated. “Good timing… this is an opportunity that could only be seen a few times every ten thousand years… a Divine Being’s ascension to the Fate Dominion Realm that is.”

“I know…” Yun Yinyi said. “In the Yun Clan, Yun Zhan’s son was the only one at the late stage of the Mortal Lord Realm. No one else but him could’ve caused this.”

The emperor smiled.

“Well, why don’t we watch and see how this goes?”

Yu Yinyi smiled back at him.

“Yeah.”

The crown prince was standing atop his flying sword above the palace. He was observing the phenomenon in the Yun Clan from his current position with a serious look on his face.

“That Yun Ling is slowly leaving us behind.”

The crown prince heard a familiar voice coming from behind him.

He turned back and saw Yu Shan standing on top of his flying sword.

“What are you doing here, Yu Shan?” he asked. They might be in the sky but they were still in the palace’s territory. Not just anyone could come there even if Yu Shan was the son of the unit commander of the empire.

“Father brought me here with him so the guards allowed me inside,” Yu Shan said with a shrug of his shoulder.

“Oh…” the crown prince nodded in understanding.

“Still… we can’t just let this be,” Yu Shan said as he directed his gaze at the Yun Clan. “I don’t want to be left behind by Yun Ling just like this. if we let this be, there will come a day that we can only just watch him from behind.”

“Yeah,” the crown prince agreed with him. “We must double our training— no, we must triple it or do even more than that so we can catch up to him.”

Yu Shan smirked at him.

“With how much of a monster our rival is… we’ll have to train to the brink of death to even get close to him,” Yu Shan said with a sigh. “Seriously, trying to catch up to someone like him is a pain. I’m starting to wonder why I still do it no matter how troublesome it is.”

“Because we’re rivals. We do not like to lose to each other,” the crown prince said with a smile. “I don’t know when our rivalry began but that has always been the case for the three of us.”

Yu Shan snorted at him.

“I hate how you’re right.”

By now, everyone in the Yun Clan and even the whole capital had woken up from the commotion.

They all went outside their homes as they looked in the direction of the Yun Clan where the billions of tiny light orbs had gathered.

Yun Zhan had a wry smile on his face as he looked at his son. The intensity of his son breaking through to the Fate Dominion Realm was almost as eye-catching, if not, just as eye-catching as the ascension of an individual to the Sacred King Realm.

Standing at his side, Yun Wei looked at the sky and muttered, “This is too many than usual.”

Everyone who heard him looked up and saw numerous bolts of lightning snaking around the sky in the capital.

Many of the hardened Sacred King’s couldn’t help but feel their throat go dry upon seeing that. When they broke through the Fate Dominion Realm themselves, there were only three bolts of lightning at most. Yun Ling’s, on the other hand, were too many to count.

The sky rumbled loudly, making everyone feel as though the capital had been under attack by foreign enemies. Many people in the capital were in awe and fear of seeing what was happening in the sky.

“It’s about to come.”

Right after Yun Zhan said that, a single streak of lightning instantly descended upon Yun Ling.

BOOM!

A loud explosion occurred, destroying most of Yun Ling’s surroundings in the courtyard.

Yun Zhan, Yun Wei, and the other Sacred Kings immediately put up defensive formations in the entire compound excluding the courtyard to protect it from the destruction of Yun Ling’s tribulation. They didn’t include the courtyard since it might attract even more tribulations and become much stronger if it sensed outside interference from them.
