Yun Zhan, Yun Wei, Li Jing, Ye Lin, and the new servants of the Yun Clan were patiently waiting outside the clan compound.
They had just received word that Yun Ling and the children were coming home from their month and a half training in the mountains. When Yun Ling informed Yun Zhan about it, Yun Zhan ordered someone to tell the family of Yun Ling’s students that their children were coming home along with Yun Ling this time.
“Oh… they are here,” Yun Zhan said when he saw a carriage being drawn by warhorses heading their way.
He knew that the ones inside that carriage were Yun Ling and the rest since he felt the familiar spiritual energy inside which was his son’s spiritual energy. He was all too familiar with it so he was able to recognize it instantly even without actively trying to feel his spiritual energy.
“Hmm, I wonder how far my adorable great-granddaughter had gotten in her training in the mountains with Ling’er? Surely, she must be at the Foundation Establishment Realm now by, right?” Yun Wei mused to himself.
“Of course she is. But even if she isn’t, what are you gonna do? Are you going to be disappointed in your great-granddaughter?” Ye Lin asked with a sharp tone.
Yun Wei sweated a bit and quickly answered, “What are you talking about? Do you think that I’m that kind of person? She is my adorable great-granddaughter! I will always be proud of her no matter what!”
Ye Lin rolled her eyes at her husband and didn’t bother saying anything back to him anymore.
A minute later, the carriage arrived and stopped right in front of them.
Yun Wei came in front of the carriage since he wanted to be the first one to greet and be greeted by his granddaughter. He was about to open the door to assist Yun Ling and the others when suddenly—!
The door was flung open, hitting Yun Wei right at his face. Then a little figure speedily ran out from the carriage right after that.
“Grandma! Great-grandma!” Yun Xia excitedly shouted out as she ran towards Li Jing and Ye Lin’s arms.
“Xia’er!” the two women said one after another as they met the little girl with open arms.
At the side, Yun Wei crouched down gloomily while trying to draw something on the ground as he muttered repeatedly, “My great-granddaughter hates me. My great-granddaughter hates me…”
Yun Zhan looked down on his father with cold eyes like he was looking at pathetic trash that was just wasting space and oxygen in the world. He avoided him as he came towards where his granddaughter was.

“Xia’er, how have you been?” Yun Zhan did a 180 and asked with a caring look on his face. The expression he had on him right now was completely different from the one on his face when he was looking at his father.
“Grandpa! Yun Xia is fine! Yun Xia is finally a real cultivator!” Yun Xia said proudly.
“Oh?” Yun Zhan, Yun Wei, Li Jing, and Ye Lin’s faces brightened up.
“Does that mean you’ve finally stepped into the Foundation Establishment realm, Xia’er?” Li Jing asked in amazement.
“Yup!”
“Amazing! As expected of my great-granddaughter! Come here and hug great-grandma,” Ye Lin dotingly said as she hugged the little girl. Yun Xia also hugged her in return.
While they were busy with Yun Xia, the rest of Yun Ling’s students were also being doted upon by their parents.
“Mom, stop that. I’m fine. Master has been nothing but kind to us,” one of his students said.
“Then what is this bump in your head? Where did you get this?” his mother strictly asked.
“Eh, that…”
“Mother, father… from now on, your son is finally a real cultivator. I’m now on the Foundation Establishment realm!”
“That’s my boy!”
“Mama, papa…”
Yun Ling smiled as he looked at his students and their parents’ interactions. He liked their relationships. Families should be like that. They should love and support each other no matter what because in the end, all they had was each other when it matters the most.
He was aware that not every family could be like that though. There were some families that instead of helping each other up, would help drag each other down. Some families didn’t want to see their family do better than they could. There were some families that would harm each other for various reasons they have.
As someone who had been raised by the Yun Clan’s philosophy, Yun Ling disliked that kind of family the most. That was why he appreciated the family that his students have.
“It would seem that you hadn’t broken through the Fate Dominion Realm yet…” Yun Zhan said as he came beside Yun Ling.
Yun Ling smiled wryly at him.
“Why are you asking? You just saw me yesterday…” Yun Ling said.
“Yes, I may have. But we hadn’t seen each other earlier. Who knows, you might have broken through the Fate Dominion realm during that time when you least expected it,” Yun Zhan responded as he shrugged his shoulders.
“Well… as you can see indeed, I haven’t broken through the next realm yet,” Yun Ling admitted with a sigh. “I feel like it is within my reach and at the same time, so far away.”
“Don’t expect it to be easy. The Fate Dominion realm is the realm where you take your fate into your own hands. It is no way easy even if you are a Divine Being,” Yun Zhan lectured giving Yun Ling a pause for thought.
For every living being in the universe, they all had their fate written for them.
Even a newborn baby… the moment they were born… no, even before they were born… they already had their life decided for them.
Some people were born only being allowed to live for twenty years… some, forty years… some had a lifespan of sixty years… all of that was part of their fate.
Some had a great destiny ahead of them. Some unfortunate ones didn’t.
Some were born destined to be king while some weren’t.
Those were their fates.
All of those things could be found written inside one of the Twelve Heavenly Grand Treasures of the universe, the Heavenly Grand Treasure known as:
The Book of Fate.
It was only by breaking through the Fate Dominion Realm that one could erase their name and their fate from the Book of Fate, grabbing their own fate by their own hands.
