86 : Painting

Xu Yue let out a satisfied smile as she admired the now completed painting in front of her.

Compared to her usual paintings, the canvas she had used for this one was much larger, in fact, it was the largest serious painting Xu Yue had ever created.

Even though the canvas was several meters tall, an entire mountain only took one or two brushes to create, the number of mountains that were depicted in the painting was immense, but even though that was the case, every single part of the painting, down to the smallest one had it's own life in it.

If you looked at the smallest, most insignificant mountain in the painting, you would be able to feel it's uniqueness.

In a single brush, Xu Yue managed to combine the entire history of a mountain, this was only possible because of one reason.

Whilst she was painting, Xu Yue was also diving each and every mountain, as they were not that important, every single divination took only a moment, letting Xu Yue be able to paint without needing to stop.

"This is my masterpiece," mumbled Xu Yue under her breath as she looked at the Heaven and Earth in front of her.

At that moment, even though she did not go into enlightenment, Xu Yue's understanding of the dao of Heaven and Earth began growing at a fast pace.

A slightly shocked expression appeared on Xu Yue's face at this time, ignoring everything else, she began sending spiritual Qi into the painting.

Feeling the spiritual Qi disappear into the painting, Xu Yue immediately sent her spiritual sense into it.

"Finally," mumbled Xu Yue as she looked at the extremely chaotic dimension in front of her.

"It's a bit small though," thought Xu Yue as she examined the several meters large dimension.

Sadly, Xu Yue did not dare sent anything into it, not to mention life, if anything other than Spiritual Qi was sent into it, the extremely fragile space would send it flying through Space-Time, as such, this painting did not provide much actual help to Xu Yue.

As Xu Yue wanted to send this painting into her Spatial Ring, Xu Yue suddenly felt a small connection with it.

Suddenly, it was if a lightning bolt had struck Xu Yue.

"This is it!" said Xu Yue, completely amazed.

A surprised look appeared on Ming Yun's face seeing this, she did not understand what about this painting could make her senior sister so surprised.

Uncaring of what Ming Yun was thinking, Xu Yue immediately sat Crosslegged and began feeling her karmic connections.

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it.

This time, compared to before, another connection had appeared, after looking at the connection for a mere moment, Xu Yue knew that this treasure had an extremely deep connection with her.

Even compared to Xu Yue's family, this connection actually dwarfed them, nothing, not even if Xu Yue wanted to, could she sever it.

As this was happening, a transformation began taking place in the painting, even though the dimension inside remained the same, the outside of the painting had completely transformed.

The mountains from before had completely transformed into a chaotic mess, but even so, a thick Heaven and Earth aura could be felt if one got close to the painting, but still this was not any Heaven and Earth aura, this was the aura of Xu Yue's Dao.

"This painting will follow my Dao," mumbled Xu Yue under her breath.

If Xu Yue's Heaven and Earth dao, pursued order, the painting would be orderly, if she pursued Chaos, the painting would be Chaotic, of course, the painting would not have much effect until her comprehension of the Dao further increased.

Without waiting, Xu Yue quickly took out the piece of Heaven and Earth origin from her Spatial Ring and threw it into the painting.

A few moments after that, the Heaven and Earth origin was quickly assimilated into the dimension, causing a small flow of Spiritual Energy to begin, even though it was insignificant, over the course of countless years, even without Xu Yue's help, a stable dimension may be born there.

Of course, Xu Yue did not plan on waiting that long.

A smile appeared on Xu Yue's face as she once again took a look at the painting.

After looking at the painting for a moment, Ming Yun suddenly looked at Xu Yue with an inquiring gaze.

"This is my treasure," said Xu Yue, causing Ming Yun's mouth to slightly open before closing.

"Congratulation's to Senior Sister for obtaining a Dao Treasure," said Ming Yun as she slightly bowed.

Dao Treasures, as the name implies, are treasures formed by a Dao, they could either be formed by the natural creation of a world, or if the cultivator has fate, by someone's Dao.

A Cultivator using his own Dao to create such a treasure is something extremely rare and can not be replicated, not even the most powerful immortal can create it without great Fate.

As Xu Yue looked at the painting once more, it suddenly moved towards her appearing next to Xu Yue.

This time, another smile appeared on Xu Yue's face, but compared to the last one something was completely different about it.

Looking at the smile on Xu Yue's face, Ming Yun was entirely fascinated, her eyes were completely glued on Xu Yue's face.

Feeling the fragile soul inside of the painting and her connection to it, a weird feeling swelled inside of Xu Yue.

Unconsciously, a small tendril extended from Xu Yue's soul onto the fragile life form, as a small hand formed on the tendril Xu Yue couldn't help but rub the soul of the life form.

"M-mother," said an extremely weak voice filled with immaturity.

As she heard this, a shocked expression appeared on Xu Yue's face but slowly, it was replaced by a gentle look.

After that, Xu Yue unhesitantly took out a small token from her Spatial Ring and crushed it, causing, a shadow to appear behind her.

"Send her to my mother," said Xu Yue while pointing at the painting while giving the shadow a small jade slip.

The shadow was slightly confused on why the young miss referred to a painting as her but it still obeyed.

"Make sure there is not a scratch on her when she arrives on sect," said Xu Yue while looking directly at the shadow, before giving it another jade slip.

"Read it," said Xu Yue before looking at the painting with a small smile on her face.

Unlike Ming Yun who was slightly drooling right now, the shadow did not have time to admire the beautiful scene, his mind being taken by the endless types of torture being shown in the jade slip, all of which would be used on him if the painting was damaged.
