105 : Insignificant

105 : Insignificant

The number of living beings alive in existence was absolutely unnumerable, even in the most uninhabitable of places, life somehow manages to survive.

Even inside of small minor worlds, trillions of living beings manage to thrive as they fight for dominance over the environment.

In the countless different worlds, humans were the only species with three very specific qualities.

As some would argue, even though humans would usually do stupid things, they could sometimes be quite smart, this, alongside the fact that humans sometimes outbreed rats and can somehow manage to survive nearly anywhere led to the situation in today's world.

Everywhere you go, even in some dark cave hundreds or even thousands of Li beneath the ground, you would be able to somehow find humans.

Xu Yue had known about this for a long time, but it was only when she could begin seeing a larger area with her improved spiritual sense did she truly realize the true magnitude of this.

"That's, a lot," mumbled Xu Yue as countless humans entered her gaze, sending her spiritual sense underground, Xu Yue once again saw tens of thousands of different caves inside of the range of her spiritual sense, the smallest of which housed hundreds of millions of humans.

Even as she sent her spiritual sense deeper and deeper into the ground and the conditions became worse and worse, she would still sometimes see humans, living their lives.

She also saw several human cultivators from these caves, trying to find their way up top and finally see the Sun for the first time.

"They really are quite pitiful, not being of use to anyone," mumbled Xu Yue as she looked at the mortals living underground.

Perhaps, an extremely long time ago, their ancestors had fled underground as to escape their shackles, sadly the very earth that had shielded them had become their very prison.

Of course, if a powerful cultivator truly wanted to free these people, they would be able to do so, but sadly mortals are the cheapest resource available, as long as they are not fully exterminated, in merely a few hundred years their numbers would have returned to normal.

Having gotten bored of looking at the earth, Xu Yue looked up at the sky, based on what she knew, the sun she was seeing right now was merely a projection, as the true sun is orbiting around the entire three thousand regions, powering these many fake suns.

But even so, Xu Yue began focusing her spiritual sense upwards as she began flying into the sky, swiftly rising above the clouds.

Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.

Ten days later,

Looking at the still endless sky above her, Xu Yue silently retracted her spiritual sense as she began floating down.

"As expected, I can't reach it yet with my speed," mumbled Xu Yue as she put seeing the barrier that separated the world from the void on her own, without the help of someone else, of course, Xu Yue could do it if she wanted to, but wasting so much time was not something she was interested in doing.

Ten days later,

As she was traveling down at a fast speed, Xu Yue slowly looked at the world below her as it entered her sights, billions of people being merely small dots in her vision, all of them below her.

Looking at this scene, Xu Yue suddenly stopped flying downwards.

"I guess seeing the world is better than staying inside all day," mumbled Xu Yue as she took out a canvas from her spatial ring and began painting.

Unlike usual, what was being painted on the canvas did not match the scene below Xu Yue, but still Xu Yue became more and more engrossed in the painting process, even though she did not reach enlightenment.

As she continued painting a tyrannical aura, sometimes erupted from Xu Yue, sending tremors throughout the sky, causing brilliant lights to appear in the sky.

Countless living beings kowtowed towards Xu Yue as she sat up on a humongous golden throne, looking at the ant-like worshipers before her.

The moment this painting was finished, Xu Yue took an insignificant step, her Dao heart shifting more and more from being Unrestrained towards being Tyrannical, the progress she had made by comprehending Buddist sutras and Taoist scriptures seemed to have been entirely reverted.

After a few minutes, Xu Yue slowly returned to normal, but even so a tiny amount of her previous aura still remained etched into her bones.

"This is not good," mumbled Xu Yue as she looked at the painting before her, biting her lip, Xu Yue decided against destroying the painting.

"It's just a painting," Xu Yue told herself as she put it into her spatial ring, carefully as to not damage it.

After that, Xu Yue continued traveling downward towards the sect, as she looked towards the living beings before her, a small amount of Xu Yue's indifference had disappeared, being replaced by something else completely.

Sometimes of time later,

As Xu Yue sat crosslegged, meditating, her now completely chained down luck Dragon was approached by a much smaller Dragon.

An enormous amount of force appeared in the small Dragons' jaws as it bit into one of the chains that restricted Xu Yue's luck.

After that, the small Dragon tried approaching Xu Yue's luck Dragon, but sadly, a mysterious force pushed it away.

Unwilling to bow down, an enormously powerful roar erupted from the small dragon, not only causing the chains that restricted Xu Yue to crack, but also sending her luck dragon flying away by the anger of the small dragon.

After looking at the magnificent chained-down dragon, the small dragon slowly began disappearing, as if it had not existed at all.

Inside of an unknown location,

"A pity," said an ancient voice as the small dragon appeared in a white void.

Several ancient beings appeared around the dragon, causing it to slightly lower its head.

As the dragon fell into sadness, it felt a smooth palm touch its head, opening its eyes, the dragon looked at the androgynous figure before him with horror in its eyes.

"Don't worry little dragon, us insignificant beings shouldn't worry," said the androgynous figure as the dragon tried to figure out who was before it.
