248 : Dao

Looking at the ruins that surrounded him, Li Fengfeng took a step forward, a red light flashing in his eyes.

Over the past seventy years, Xia Jingfei had begun hunting down weak Taoist Sects, annihilating them from existence without any care in the world.

"She's up to no good right now" mumbled Li Fengfeng as he looked at the surrounding corpses, which had quickly shriveled up.

Although with his cultivation, Li Fengfeng could technically help someone revive, he was utterly helpless against the people in front of him.

Not only had their bodies been completely devoured, but the same could be said for their soul, and unbeknownst to Li Fengfeng, a small part of their existence, making them a completely lost cause.

A moment later, Li Fengfeng suddenly disappeared, traveling to the ruins of another sect, one destroyed by Xia Jingfei some time ago.

A few minutes later.

As he stared at the ruins for a few moments, Li Fengfeng's eyes suddenly widened, causing him to suddenly fly to a nearby building as fast as he could possibly manage.

Sadly, even this was not enough, as the building then exploded, sending blood, organs, and body parts flying.

Although the explosion was relatively weak, and could not damage Li Fengfeng in the slightest, as he looked at the body parts, which had been alive just a few moments prior, Li Fengfeng couldn't help but grit his teeth.

Even though Li Fengfeng searched the sect rather thoroughly using his spiritual sense, he did not expect that there was anything in there that could escape his eyes, causing this disaster.

Suddenly, a voice resounded from the remains of the building.

"Daoist Li, this is only the result of your own actions," said Xia Jingfei, causing Li Fengfeng's eyebrows to slightly twitch.

But even so, Li Fengfeng did not do anything, as he knew that Xia Jingfei was, in fact, not here.

At this moment in a hidden location, Xia Jingfei, who had ditched the conservative robe, and had returned to her usual revealing outfit, suddenly opened her eyes, and slightly giggled.

"It seems as though he really liked my surprise," mumbled Xia Jingfei with a faint smile on her face, before closing her eyes a few moments later.

...

Unaware of the things that were happening in the outside world, at this moment, Xu Yue stood cross-legged, twigs growing out of her arms.

At the same time, roots that started on Xu Yue's feet dug deep into the ground under the surprised eyes of a little white fox.

Unlike Xu Yanmei and Xu Xiaoqing who enjoyed staying outside, Xu Huan like being next to her mother, and didn't seem to want to leave her side.

Although at first, Xu Yue was slightly distracted by the eyes of the fox, after some years, she had become accustomed to them, and could easily focus on deepening her understanding of other Daos

In the past seventy years, under the excited eyes of Xu Huan, Xu Yue practiced countless techniques from all Daos

From extremely powerful Dao's, like Water and Wood, to the weakest Dao's in existence, Xu Yue had comprehended hundreds of techniques for each of them.

But although this was the case, Xu Yue could still continue comprehending techniques for millions of years without having to stop at any single moment, as there were more than enough techniques for her to enjoy.

At the same time, no matter how powerful a single technique was, it could not compare to the Dao itself, which was unbelievably huge.

Perhaps this was the reason why most people, other than some maniacs, preferred to go outside and comprehend the Dao by seeing the outside world, as it could help them obtain insights that mere techniques would need eons to match.

But this did not mean that techniques were useless, rather, they were incredibly useful to Xu Yue, who could quickly comprehend them and gain an understanding of the Dao, no matter how tiny.

For example, although Xu Yue had comprehended over a hundred techniques relating to the Wood Dao, with every single new technique she comprehended, her understanding of this Dao would increase, something which she could not say would be true if she went to the outside world.

Suddenly, Xu Yue opened her eyes, which were now green, causing them to suddenly revert to their normal color, as the branches and leaves on her body suddenly began falling off.

As she stared at her clenched hand, a faint smile couldn't help but appear on Xu Yue's face.

"As expected, this method is more useful to me than going to the outside world," mumbled Xu Yue as she looked at her Sea of Consciousness, as well as at the Dao Tree in its center.

Although Xu Yue's understanding of each individual Dao was next to nothing in comparison to her understanding of the Sword Dao, or the Dao of Fate, it still brought a rather significant increase in strength to Xu Yue, especially after so little time had passed.

In only seventy years, the height of Xu Yue's Dao Tree increased by over sixty Li.

Of course, her new understanding of existence, as well as the fact that seventy years ago, Xu Yue hadn't fully absorbed the power of her previous Dao's also played a big part in this.

Suddenly, Xu Yue stretched out her hands, catching the tiny little fox which had jumped towards her.

Looking at Xu Huan, who was obediently staying in her hands, Xu Yue faintly smiled.

"Huan'er, did you get bored while mother was cultivating?" asked Xu Yue as she looked at the little fox, causing the latter to shake her head.

"I had a lot of fun watching Mother!!" said Xu Huan as she looked at Xu Yue, having seemingly been waiting for this question.

Hearing this, Xu Yue smiled once again.

"That's very good," mumbled Xu Yue as she breathed a slight sigh of relief, moving her nails through the soft fur of the silver fox.
