198 : Anger

198 : Anger

As she stared at the endless abyss in front of her, a feeling that she had not felt in a very long time emerged in Xu Yue's mind.

Anger

Slowly but surely, the look of surprise on Xu Yue's face disappeared, being replaced by a cold expression on her face.

'Is there a reason she's so angry?' thought Xu Lanfeng as she turned her eyes to Xu Yue, as snowflakes began falling around her.

Although what had happened was quite unfortunate, and would have vast consequences on the entirety of the Three Thousand Regions, Xu Lanfeng did not expect Xu Yue to become so angry.

Suddenly, Xu Yue closed her eyes, standing still as Xu Lanfeng was still in deep thought.

After calming down for a few minutes, the anger on Xu Yue's face disappeared, leaving only some apprehension towards those that actually managed to do such a feat.

A few minutes, later, just as Xu Lanfeng was about to take Xu Yue out of her trance, the latter suddenly woke up, gripping the empty air in her fist, causing a smile to appear on her face.

...

In another location,

A group of five hooded figures flashed through the sky, traveling at extremely high speed, but even so, none of the cultivators on the ground or flying in the sky could detect them.

Suddenly, the eyes of one of the five cultivator's widened, feeling a karmic thread suddenly form between himself and another being.

After trying to figure out who that being was for a fraction of a moment, the cultivator gave up, turning to the karmic thread itself.

The moment he figured out why the karmic thread was created, a horrified look appeared on the face of the cultivator.

"I destroyed a place it slightly enjoyed traveling?" mumbled the cultivator, knowing that this karmic thread could not have naturally formed, as the connection was far too insignificant.

"Did something happen?" asked the leading cultivator, but before the other cultivator could respond, they all suddenly stopped mid in the air for no apparent reason.

Unlike the other cultivators, who could not see the reason they were unable to move, the cultivator who had sensed this karmic thread knew the reason very well, and could even see it.

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

But sadly, the cultivator could not say anything, as the karmic thread that was restraining them suddenly sliced through their body and soul, instantly killing all five cultivators.

Similar scenes took place all throughout the three thousand regions, as hidden cultivators began dying in droves, as a silent reaper sealed their fate.

Of course, there were those that resisted the attack.

...

Looking at the destroyed sect below him, Yi Ting scanned through the ruins one final time, searching for any living beings remaining, when suddenly, he felt a karmic thread form, linking him to someone else.

As the thread was just about to fully form, Yi Ting suddenly crushed it, using the entirety of his Major Trancendace cultivation base.

But sadly, it was too late, as a small space crack formed behind him, prompting Yi Ting to suddenly begin flying away the fastest he could.

Without warning, Ye Ting suddenly stopped, as thoughts began swirling inside of his mind.

"Why would I run away from myself?" mumbled Ye Ting as he suddenly stopped transforming his body, revealing it's true form.

Unbeknownst to him, at this moment, the very being known as Ye Ting began to slowly stop existing, as fate itself began changing, making it so that Ye Ting never even existed, being only the incarnation of another being.

By this time, a person suddenly stepped out of it.

As she gazed at her incarnation, all of it's memories suddenly flashed through Xu Yue's eyes, allowing her to learn everything she needed to.

A moment later, Xu Yue stopped wasting the power of the Dao of Fate on this person, causing the incarnation to suddenly transform back into Ye Ting.

Before Ye Ting could do anything, Xu Yue once again began forcefully reading his memories, but this time, once she reached a particular section, both Ye Ting's body and soul exploded, so as to prevent someone else from learning what was hidden in it.

'As expected, this technique can avoid traps hidden inside of a cultivator's memory,' thought Xu Yue as a small smile appeared on her face.

A moment later, Xu Yue disappeared.

...

"Thankfully the mission went without any problems," mumbled Zheng Xin as he turned to his teammates after walking through a formation.

"Yea, that's good," said Duan Ying as he stepped through the formation as well, slightly turning his gaze toward his childhood friend, Xu Yue.

After a few more moments, the group of three stepped through five other formations, before reaching the entrance to a cave, walking into it and then disappearing.

The moment Xu Yue walked through the teleportation formation, a sword suddenly slashed toward her neck at an incredible speed.

Even Zheng Xin and Duan Ying, Major Trancendance cultivators with incredibly robust foundations exploded as soon as the sword passed by them.

Although the sword did not really target them, they simply couldn't bear it's incredible power being near them.

A fraction of a moment later, as the sword continued stabbing toward Xu Yue, both of their bodies were suddenly absorbed by it, causing it's speed to increase even further.

Without any warning, the sword suddenly stopped stabbing at Xu Yue's neck, as both the hand, as well as the left side of the body of it's user suddenly disappear.

Before the attacker could react to the destruction of half of his body, the remaining half of his body was suddenly cut in half, as Xu Yue restrained the power of her sword, so as to not kill her target.

Suddenly, Xu Yue disappeared from the spot she was just standing in, appearing behind a middle-aged man that was not far away and then stabbing at his neck.

Sadly for her, the moment Xu Yue appeared behind the middle-aged man, he disappeared as well, appearing right behind her.
