204 : Self

Hearing the words of the artifact spirit, Hao Xifeng nodded, before placing her hand on Xu Yue's forehead.

Then, only a moment later, both Hao Xifeng and Xu Yue disappeared, leaving only a pagoda floating in the air.

Several minutes then passed in peace, but after those few peacefull minutes passed, the pagoda began shaking.

At first, the pagoda lightly shook, but soon after, the shaking began escalating, as the artifact spirit of the pagoda once again appeared outside.

The moment the artifact spirit appeared outside, he turned his eyes in the direction that, Xu Yu and Hao Xifeng had fled in, before breathing a sigh of relief.

'They should have enough time to return to the sect before he catches up with them,' thought the artifact spirit as he then turned his attention to the inside of the pagoda, where originally, the remains of the little boy's body were suppressed.

But at this moment, the body of the little boy had seemingly managed to regenerate itself even under the harsh suppression of the pagoda, as at this moment, the little boy had over half of his body, including his head back.

Even at this moment, both the body and the power of the little boy were still regenerating.

Suddenly, a horrified look appeared on the face of the little boy, as something seemingly changed inside of him.

But sadly for the little boy, he suddenly returned to his previous self, as the memories of what had just happened were erased from his mind.

Without any warning, the entire huge pagoda suddenly started shaking, as a seemingly angry look appeared on the little boy's face.

Seeing this, the frown on the face of the artifact spirit increased, as he then waved his hand before suddenly disappearing alongside the pagoda, leaving the little boy behind.

...

While the artifact spirit of the pagoda was suppressing the little boy, Hao Xifeng had already managed to bring Xu Yue back to the Origin Sword Sect.

The moment Hao Xifeng and Xu Yue entered the sect, a young woman appeared before them.

"I will leave her in your care, senior Deng, I need to go back to the battlefield," said Hao Xifeng before suddenly disappearing, leaving Xu Yue alone with the young woman.

Seeing that Hao Xifeng was so eager to go back to the battlefield, Deng Huiling couldn't help but let out a soft sigh.

"Little Hao is still as vigorous as ever," mumbled Deng Huiling as her spiritual sense suddenly swept over Xu Yue, making sure that the latter was recovering properly.

Then, a moment after that, Deng Huiling suddenly raised her head, staring outside of the sect, at the small figure that was floating in mid-air.

In a mere moment, Deng Huiling appeared above the sect, floating in mid-air as she stood face to-face with the figure, only having several Li in between them.

But even though Deng Huiling was standing face to face with a being with the power of a True Immortal, no particular expression could be seen on her face.

"Little guy, how about you come to big sister to have a chat, I will welcome you with open arms," said Deng Huiling as she stared at the little boy, safely talking to him from inside of the range of the Origin Sword Sect's formations.

For many years, Deng Huiling has been the one to control the Origin Sword Sect's formations, as such, although she wasn't particularly skilled in formations, being only a Rank 8 Formation master she knew them like the back of her hand, and could easily control them.

Although this being had the strength of a True Immortal, one must not underestimate the Origin Sword Sect's accumulation, although they did not have a True Immortal that focused on formations, and as such, did not have formations as powerful as those in the Mountain and Formation Regions, they still had over a dozen defensive and offensive immortal formations.

Hearing Deng Huiling's words, the little boy frowned before shaking his head, although he had considered standing outside of the Origin Sword Sect, trying to prevent any disciples from entering or leaving, he did not do so.

After all, if he was underestimating the Origin Sword Sect, he might have to suffer quite a bit.

Only a moment later, the little boy disappeared, leaving Deng Huiling floating in the air alone.

...

As the little boy flew in silence, a someone depressed expression could not help but appear on his face.

'Do not worry, I just wanted you to make an attempt, I did not think it would be that easy to kill her,' said a monotonous voice, resounding directly in the mind of the little boy.

'After all, although she is not that strong right now, someone interfered to stop you from killing her,' said the monotonous voice, causing the little boy to suddenly stop in mid-air, as some question's swirled inside of his mind.

Why did he decide to toy with his target?

After all, the little boy was someone who liked to quickly accomplish his tasks before leaving the scene as fast as possible.

Why did he allow his target to launch an attack?

Why did he not sense the sneak attack that he would have usually easily sensed?

...

At this moment, in another location, two figures sat in front of one another.

One of them, the Second, who looked nearly identical to Xu Yue was taking in a sip of tea, while the Third, who looked even more beautiful, sat in front of her, seemingly dozing off.

Suddenly, a tiny ball of light appeared in front of the Third, before suddenly sinking into her forehead.

"It looks like you were right, the person that interfered really tried to kill her," said the Third, leaving no uncertainty in her voice when she said the word 'her', as the Second knew exactly who she was referring to.

"It's a good think that you interfered, otherwise something bad may have happened, and we would have to once again wait a long time for an opportunity like this," said the Second, breathing a sigh of relief.

Hearing that, the Third couldn't help but snicker.

"Do you have no confidence in your own self?" asked the Third as she looked at the Second, who looked identical to Xu Yue.
