As she approached the Dao Tree in front of her step by step, a faint smile appeared on Xu Yue's face.
Now that she was in her own sea of consciousness, Xu Yue could finally feel it, she could feel the power of her Dao cruising through her body, making her more and more powerful as time passed.
At the same time, she felt her consciousness clear up, as suddenly, her eyes widened, as she discovered something hidden deep inside of her mind, beyond where she had gone before.
Knowledge.
This is what was hidden inside Xu Yue's mind, knowledge about existence, as well as the path to immortality.
Perhaps this knowledge was always inside of Xu Yue, or perhaps this was placed here by someone, or the Grand Dao itself.
"So this is why ancestor didn't mention anything about how to use existence," mumbled Xu Yue as she stared at her hands.
At the same time, Spiritual Energy slowly but surely began appearing inside of Xu Yue, being refined by her body.
Unlike any other spiritual energy, this one did not come from the outside world, but rather from Xu Yue herself.
Though at this moment, Xu Yue did not pay much attention to the spiritual energy, as she continued staring at her hands.
Spotless, without any impurity, this is what Xu Yue's hands looked like, but as she looked deeper at them, Xu Yue saw something more, something she hadn't seen before.
Impurities
Although Xu Yue relied mostly on her own efforts, without using many treasures whilst refining her body, she was still not pure.
Even spiritual energy itself, which is the purest thing in existence to most cultivators, was not in any way free of impurities.
Perhaps if someone absorbed only spiritual energy, and didn't use anything else, not even the highest-rank spiritual stones, they may be able to remain completely without impurities to the eyes of the mortal world, but to become immortal, this was in no way enough.
Pure Body and Spirit
Golden Dao
Transcendent Self
Rank 1 Comprehension of Existence
These were the four things that were required to become a True Immortal.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
The first, and relatively most simple requirement was a 'Pure Body and Spirit' one completely free of the impurities of the Mortal World, unlike what one might first assume, in this context, 'Spirit' does not mean 'Soul', but rather Qi.
As Xu Yue did not use any treasures to increase her cultivation, as well as very few treasures that affected her body, she should be able to reach this state after enough time
What might be a slight bit more troublesome would be obtaining a 'Golden Dao', although Xu Yue's 'Boundless Dao' was extremely powerful, in fact this might make it even more difficult than usual for Xu Yue to achieve this, as in this case 'Golden' does not mean powerful, but rather perfect.
At this moment, Xu Yue was unaware of how one might obtain such a 'Golden Dao' as such she continued to the third requirement which only caused her to scratch her head even harder.
Unlike the 'Golden Dao', which specified it's meaning, the third requirement only said that becoming a True Immortal required a 'Transcendent Self', and did not have any other explanation attached to it.
As to what a 'Transcendent Self' meant, and how one might acquire it, Xu Yue had no idea at the moment.
After a few moments, Xu Yue once again moved her attention forward, to the next and final requirement.
A 'Rank 1 Comprehension of Existence'
Seeing this, Xu Yue turned her attention to the knowledge about existence which had emerged in her mind.
At the same time, a see-through liquid began emerging from Xu Yue's hands.
If a mortal were to obtain a single drop of this liquid, and drank it, their bodies would likely become as strong as True Awakening Cultivators.
At the same time, this liquid had an extremely captivating scent, which would enamour most cultivators to fight for it.
Of course, this Heaven and Earth Treasure was a drop of Impurity which had emerged from Xu Yue's hands.
The moment Xu Yue discovered the insane amount of impurities in her body, she immediately became disgusted and began trying to get rid of it.
Of course, as Xu Yue was already extremely pure, the impurity did not look like the impurities of normal cultivators in the slightest.
At the same time, as they were formerly part of Xu Yue's body, these impurities were deeply infused with the power of the Dao, which had transformed them into valuable treasures for cultivators to fight for.
Just as Xu Yue was about to destroy this impurity, a message from her ancestor suddenly appeared inside of her mind.
"Forget it, increasing the Foundation of the Sect is never a bad idea," mumbled Xu Yue as a bottle appeared below her hand, catching the drop of liquid into it.
After a moment, Xu Yue turned her attention back to herself, as well as her body.
Feeling the flow of spiritual energy that had originated from her Existence before flowing into her body, a faint smile appeared on Xu Yue's face.
Although her mastery of existence was extremely weak right now, being categorized as Rank 0 at the moment, Xu Yue still gained a few new abilities and methods to strengthen herself.
Firstly, Xu Yue gained the ability to control the spiritual energy which her Existence generated, being able to put it to good use, unlike Mortals, who let it leak out and become full of impurities.
This is the reason why Xu Yue had just begun expelling impurities, as the perfectly pure spiritual energy from her existence replaced the impurities in her body.
"If I want to use this method to reach a 'Pure Body and Spirit' it would take at least a few hundred million years," mumbled Xu Yue as she sensed the weak flow of spiritual energy coming from her Existence.
Secondly, Xu Yue could now infuse her existence into her body and soul, making them much more resilient and not so easily destroyed by normal attacks.
Most importantly, Xu Yue could now slowly but surely try to comprehend Existence even further, and no longer had to rely on chance.
