320 : Conflict

Originally, Xiao Yue had expected that her conflict with the first two groups of humans that she had encountered to have been just a coincidence, and that she would soon encounter someone who she could reason with.

But as she stared at the hundreds of bloody corpses in front of her, Xiao Yue couldn't help but feel furious at the humans of this world.

"What the hell is wrong with them? This is the fifth group of human's I've encountered and all of them are hostile, could it be that I'm not cute?" mumbled Xiao Yue with a frown on her face.

For some reason, Xiao Yue couldn't help but suspect that her mothers had played some hand in landing her in this situation, although she was unaware of how.

Although Xiao Yue was unaware of this fact right now, she was totally right about her hunch, and her mothers really played a part on her current situation, but even so, Xiao Yue truly did not believe that all humans would be hostile to her, continued on her journey.

...

As she looked at her daughter, who was currently slaughtering another group of humans, Hulli Jing couldn't help but turn her attention onto Xu Yue.

"Are you sure sending her into this world is a good idea?" asked Hulli Jing, wondering if it was necessary for Xu Yue to send her daughter into a world so hostile to non-humans.

"Allowing her to fight is a much better option than letting her be tricked by some deceitful people, she'll even gain some combat experience this was, she's my daughter, I'm sure she'll do fine in this place," said Xu Yue with a smile on her face.

Hearing Xu Yue's words, Hulli Jing still did not fully believe the latter, but even so, she turned her attention onto Xiao Yue.

...

Some time later,

As she stared at the bloodied wolf in front of her, who was standing over the corpses of a group of humans and speaking to her, Xiao Yue fell into silence.

"Sister, I'm not sure about your species, but you must've been born in this place not too long ago, am I right?" asked the bloodied wolf as he stared at the ignorant being in front of him, causing Xiao Yue to confidently lie and nod.

"That's right."

"Quite a pity, your parent's must have died in the invasion to leave you behind all alone like this," said the wolf.

"The Invasion?"

"Let me explain, although I don't know much about what happened at the upper levels, I know the gist of what you need to know."

"A long time ago, my species, alongside you and other species of beasts lived in the Myriad Beast World, but after eons of use, the resources of the Myriad Beast World are getting quite low, so we invaded this place," said the wolf, causing Xiao Yue to slightly frown.

"Do you know anything else?"

"No."

"Not even how we got here?"

"No, why would I care about that? I'm just here to kill and plunder," said the wolf as he looked at Xiao Yue with a confused look on his face.

"Then why are the humans so hostile?"

"We're here to kill them all, why wouldn't they be hostile?" asked the wolf, once again confused.

"Don't worry little sister, although you're young you already look very strong, I'm sure that the humans won't be able to do much to you as long as you target the weak settlements," continued the wolf as he approached Xiao Yue.

Hearing the words of the wolf, Xiao Yue felt as though she had been scammed.

"Thank you for the help," said Xiao Yue as she looked at the wolf, a thankful smile on her face.

"Don't worry, It's a senior's job to help quite juniors," said the wolf as he nodded his head.

A few moments later, the wolf walked away, leaving Xiao Yue behind to stare at the bloodbath the two had caused not too long ago.

After that, Xiao Yue then continued on her way.

...

If Wu Jing and Xu Chao were aware of where their daughter had sent their granddaughter to, both of them would be utterly furious, and would try to get her back immediately.

Sadly, though, the couple was completely unaware of what their daughter was up to, even though they were currently thinking about her.

"So she really isn't interested?" asked Wu Jing as she looked at Xu Chao, causing him to nod.

"I've asked Xu Yue this dozens of times, she isn't interested in the position of Sect Master, nor is she interested in becoming the Matriarch of the Clan," said Xu Chao with a somewhat sad look on his face.

Hearing that, Wu Jing couldn't help but fall into thought.

"So do you have in mind then?" asked Wu Jing as she sat down.

"I've already got someone in mind for the position of Clan Leader, but I'm completely uncertain of who could be Sect Master," said Xu Chao as he waved his hand, causing the image of a teen to appear on his hand.

Although this was merely an image, Wu Jing was able to quickly see the personality of clan member that Xu Chao had chosen, temperate, stable, not arrogant.

"Even If he's not very competent, he won't cause much trouble..." mumbled Wu Jing as she nodded her head, seemingly approving of Xu Chao's choice.

After all, someone mediocre was much better than some arrogant fool, at least in the position of Patriarch.

...

The change in leadership that was about to take place within the Origin Sword Sect was not the only one that was taking place at the moment, as at the same time, as if in synch, similar changes began taking place within the other Major Powers.

From the Yin-Yang Tempe, Holy Land of the Five Elements, and even more minor powers like the Heaven-Scrying Tempo, the older generation began retreating, making room for their disciples, as well as new, hidden geniuses that had emerged in the past few years.
