Suddenly, Xu Yue's eyes moved, staring into the distance.
Although usually, the Dao did not have any shape, at this moment, Xu Yue felt as though she could see her own Boundless Sword Dao with her own eyes.
Cracked
To Xu Yue's horror, beneath the surface, her Dao, which seemed extremely normal, had begun cracking.
After staring at her Dao for a few minutes, though, the look of horror on Xu Yue's face disappeared, as she breathed a sigh of relief before closing her eyes.
"The sword is suitable for me, but, right now, it's only holding me back," mumbled Xu Yue as she stared at her Dao with her eyes still closed, now aware of what had happened.
The moment Xu Yue had comprehended her existence, she had subconsciously realized the fact that her Dao was a 'Sword Dao' was holding her back.
As such, now having become infinitely more powerful, Xu Yue's own existence had begun taking action, and began breaking Xu Yue's Dao apart from the Sword Dao itself.
This also tied into the fact that Xu Yue felt as though her Dao Tree had begun feeling somewhat weird to her, as if it had changed.
This was caused by Xu Yue's subconscious rejection of her own Dao, which she now deemed flawed.
'What sort of person am I?' asked herself, Xu Yue as she continued staring at her Dao.
After asking this question, Xu Yue no longer thought, as she turned to the thing which knew herself best, her subconscious.
Unlike before, Xu Yue did not try to think about the question, but rather, she let her subconscious mind, as well as her existence, answer the question.
After a few moments, Xu Yue's aura began to subtly change, becoming more and more unreasonable as a faint smile appeared on her face.
Hypocritical
Unreasonable
Someone who could not tolerate anyone being above her.
This was who Xu Yue truly was, someone who could be indifferent to the world, scoffing at those who troubled themselves with it, whilst also indulging in worldly desires herself.
Some might consider Xu Yue's mentality as having gone above the mortal world, but deep inside, Xu Yue knew that this was not true, she was just Hypocritical.
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
But who could judge her? After all, Xu Yue was better, and more powerful than most cultivators, and if she wasn't already so, then she would just become more and more powerful, eventually getting her revenge on those who had tried to judge her.
If most cultivators had realized that they were like this, they would try to change themselves and become better.
But as Xu Yue realized it, the faint smile on her face increased in size.
At the same time, the enormous tree as well as the huge Dao fruit which stood inside of Xu Yue began withering, as with the help of her conscious mind, her existence finally managed to completely overwhelm her Dao, cracking it into two pieces.
Abandon the dregs,
Abandon everything that's holding you back,
Let you become everything,
As these thoughts swirled inside of her mind, Xu Yue's Dao split into two parts, her Sword Dao, which had been almost destroyed by her existence, as well as her new, much purer 'Boundless Dao'.
After the 'Sword Dao' and 'Boundless Dao' finally separated, a weird silence took over Xu Yue mind.
This silence was then broken, as after stabilizing as Xu Yue's Dao, the 'Boundless Dao' took action.
'Sword Dao'
'Heaven and Earth Painting Dao'
'Dao of Fate'
After noticing these intruders in its territory, the 'Boundless Dao' which had just stabilized took action.
She needed only one Dao, everything else was unnecessary, this was something that Xu Yue knew, as such the 'Boundless Dao', now being controlled by Xu Yue's subconscious mind, took action.
In only a fraction of a moment, the unreasonable Dao had completely enveloped the other three Daos being completely in synch with Xu Yue's personality.
After a few moments, the 'Boundless Dao' began absorbing the other three Daos, using them as nourishment for itself.
At the same time, dark clouds suddenly began gathering above the Origin Sword Sect.
...
The moment clouds began gathering above the Origin Sword Sect, the Heavenly Dao, who had been searching for the person who had spied on it, turned its attention over there.
As the enormous eye stared at the clouds, which had an extremely familiar aura emanating from them, its pupil couldn't help but slightly dilate as it turned its attention to the cultivator which was currently being targetted by them.
Of course, the Heavenly Dao did not interfere, as, although it could manage those that had crossed the barrier between Mortal and Immortal, it had no authority to interfere it their tribulations.
This was a matter that was left to the Grand Dao to handle.
...
The moment Xu Yue had comprehended existence, something had changed within her, something even more subtle, which she had yet to recognize.
Even though her lifespan had not even changed, being only a few million years, much shorter than that of Tree Spirits for example.
Xu Yue had become different from them, as the moment she had managed to comprehend her existence, in the eyes of the Grand Dao, she was no longer a Mortal, and was under its jurisdiction.
Without any warning, a bolt of lightning that could annihilate most Dao Saints from existence suddenly struck Xu Yue.
Thankfully though, in the entirety of existence, there was probably no being better at controlling its strength than the Grand Dao, as such, even though such a powerful blow had struck Xu Yue, no damage had been done to her surroundings.
Of course, thanks to her power, Xu Yue was also not harmed by the attack.
But before Xu Yue could do anything else, another bolt of lightning, this one several times stronger than the previous one, suddenly struck her.
And another one.
And another one.
Before Xu Yue could even react, the bolts of lightning grew in power at an exponential speed, becoming more powerful than she could handle in the blink of an eye.
Thankfully though, it did not seem that the Grand Dao had wanted to kill Xu Yue, as the bolts soon stopped, leaving only a rather baffled Xu Yue now standing still, feeling rather shocked.
