160 : Chase

160 : Chase

Just as she was happily sleeping once more, Hulli Jing suddenly opened her eyes as she felt a gaze wander on her for a few moments.

Looking at Xu Yue, who was being bathed in white light coming down from the heaven's a cautious look appeared on the little fox's face, and after a few minutes of thinking she suddenly disappeared.

But even so, It seemed as though Ming Yun was utterly blind, as she did not manage to notice this disappearance.

...

As she looked through the white light in front of her, Xu Yue seemingly saw everything at once and nothing at all, causing a confused expression to appear on her face.

Looking at the nothingness in front of her, Xu Yue finally felt something.

Suddenly, Xu Yue stretched out her left hand and just after moving it forward a little bit, Xu Yue's left hand suddenly disappeared, being annihilated.

Merely a moment later, Xu Yue woke up from the trance, with her left hand still being there, but even though what she saw was not actually real, Xu Yue still stared at the thing in front of her.

With the help of the illusion, Xu Yue finally saw it, and knew what the scene in front of her was.

A single infinitely small point, yet boundless at the same time, it was as if all of reality was fully engulfed by that single point, and as soon as Xu Yue were to touch that point she would be crushed into oblivion by the endless weight of reality.

But even though everything inside of Xu Yue screamed for her to not look at it any longer, Xu Yue was not afraid, knowing that this was only a scene shown to her by the Heavenly Dao.

Suddenly, Xu Yue found herself surrounded by an endless amount of Daos, but even so, Xu Yue could only sense a tiny bit, this being the true reward for passing the tribulation.

Of course, at this time Xu Yue did not know just how generous the Heavenly Dao was at this moment, nor did she know how much energy it wasted by doing this, but she would not have cared either way, as Xu Yue sank herself into the Dao.

...

Several years later,

As Ming Yun stared at her senior sister, she couldn't help but feel that something was wrong.

Looking at the majestic tree that replaced her senior sister, Ming Yun couldn't help but become entranced with it, over ten meters tall, this tree seemed quite a bit different than other oak trees, as an empty half-meter hole stood at the heart of the tree waiting to be filled.

But even though the tree did not yet seem complete, It still made Ming Yun want to worship it.

Suddenly, and without any warning, the tree disappeared, and only a fraction of a moment later, Xu Yue disappeared.

"This is really weird," mumbled Xu Yue as she looked at the world around her, Xu Yue's spiritual sense, which was already unimaginably huge, now spread over an even larger area, as the number of living beings in her vision reached an endless number.

Suddenly, Xu Yue frowned as she looked behind Ming Yun.

"It's gone," mumbled Xu Yue as she looked at the empty cushion with a weird expression on her face, causing Ming Yun to look backward and also notice the disappearance of the little fox.

"Wait for me here," said Xu Yue before suddenly, a spontaneous hole in space appeared behind her, causing Xu Yue to disappear and then reappear in a snowy forest.

"It was here," mumbled Xu Yue as another hole appeared behind her, and once again transported her to another location.

From a forest, to a hill, to a mountain peak, each with an enormous distance between them, but in only a few moments Xu Yue traveled to them, on the tails of a little fox.

Suddenly, just as Xu Yue appeared in a small mortal village, she noticed two flashes of white light in front of her, while someone else might have been confused by the scene, Xu Yue knew what those were.

"Two tails," mumbled Xu Yue as she once again teleported to another location.

...

As she once again teleported from the scene, Hulli Jing's fur stood straight as she, for a brief moment felt an extremely familiar aura just behind her.

"So fast," mumbled Hulli Jing, amazed at both the speed at which Xu Yue completed her breakthrough and the speed at which she was traveling.

"She's really catching up to me," thought Hulli Jing before deciding on a new plan, now that raw speed was no longer able to overpower the latter.

...

Looking at the serene scene in front of her, a confused expression appeared on Xu Yue's face, that was replaced by a smile a few moments later.

"This illusion is really powerful, she somehow even managed to trick me for a few moments, this little fox really shouldn't be underestimated," mumbled Xu Yue as she threw the rock in her hands to a specific tree, causing the formation around her to shatter, but suddenly, Xu Yue once again picked up the rock.

Looking at the large boulder in the distance, Xu Yue once again threw a rock at it, causing another hidden illusionary formation to shatter.

Just when things seemed to be over, Xu Yue once again picked up the rock and looked at the scene around her.

"There's another illusion," mumbled Xu Yue simply laying the rock on the ground in front of her, causing the reality around her to shatter.

"Much better," mumbled Xu Yue as she held her head up using her hands and stared at the little rock in front of her.

After a few minutes, the rock then turned into a little fox, causing Xu Yue to smile.

"You really are too cute," mumbled Xu Yue as she used her nails to scratch the fox behind it's ears, but even though this was extremely enjoyable for it, an inexplicable anger seemed to rise up in the fox.
