70 - Clan and Storytelling

Chuck’s head was spinning from the number of cute cat girls in front of him. They were all different colors and were of course all cute. Tess noticed him staring and hugged his arm possessively. A black cat girl strode up to him and greeted him as well. “Otherworlder, we wanted to give you a hero’s welcome since news of your exploits has traveled far and wide.” From the voice, he could tell it was the head of the clan.

Chuck bowed respectfully and offered his own greeting. “It is good to see you again. I’m glad I finally got to see where Tess grew up. I’m really not much of a hero though and Tess helped me out a lot.” The clan leader then led them on a tour of the compound and Tess showed him her old room. It was small but comfortable looking.

There was one box left of her belongings so Chuck directed R2 to bring it with them. Before they left, they had a meal with all the clan members. They were all still in their cat girl forms which was very distracting for him. Chuck promised in his heart to come back to visit as often as possible.

Tess seemed to have fun during the visit and showed off several different forms to her clan friends who were duly impressed. Chuck noticed a few of the clan members giving him seductive glances. He wasn’t a harem protagonist though so one sexy shapeshifter was more than enough for him. Tess noticed the glances as well and wrapped him up in her long snake tail protectively.

Finally they said goodbye as it was starting to get dark and returned to the inn. When they got inside, the receptionist gave Chuck a letter that had arrived for him. It was fancy paper and had the royal crest so Chuck was a little worried to open it. Tess saw his hesitation and took it out of his hands. She quickly opened it and started reading.

Tess smiled happily and said they were invited to another tea party by the first princess. Lyz must have heard they were back in the city. He did promise the princess that they would have another tea party with her. It was certainly better than getting roped into a mission from the king and he wouldn’t mind seeing the dragon princess again. Tess was also thrilled to have another tea party.

The tea party was to be held two days later. Chuck had packed dress clothes just in case, so they didn’t need to do much to prepare. The day arrived and a royal carriage was sent for them. It looked to be the same magical carriage as last time. Tess had decided to be a blonde elf girl again since that is how the princess knew her.

Once they arrived at the castle, they were escorted to the garden gazebo where Lyz was waiting for them. Her mother, the queen, wasn’t with her this time. Chuck and Tess bowed respectfully before sitting down, which made Lyz smile. She didn’t waste any time in getting Chuck and Tess to tell her all their latest adventures that happened since she had seen them last.

Lyz listened to them in rapt attention. Usually Chuck didn’t like talking about himself that much but for some reason he rather enjoyed telling stories to the young princess. Tess looked to be having fun as well and he had to correct her from embellishing the story too much.

He was just finishing the story when an official came over and apologized for interrupting. The official told them an urgent matter had come up and the king requested his presence. Chuck frowned, glanced at Tess and swore under his breath. He knew it was only a matter of time before he got caught up in something and it looked like that time had come.
