Tessetty had never been happier. When she had learned that an otherworlder was looking for a shape shifter, she had jumped at the chance to meet them. The clan leader was cautious however, and forbid her until the otherworlder was investigated. The clan leader met with and approved of the otherworlder whose name was Chuck. The leader even showed her a form Chuck liked, which she found fascinating. She was young and had never bonded even though the clan had been pushing her. No one was worth her time though. They all just demanded she change into what they wanted, which were the same old boring forms. She wanted something new, something different and when she saw the cat girl form she knew this was it.
Chuck had never forced her to change into anything and was always polite. He seemed happy to let her decide on her own, which she appreciated. She thought it was cute how he got surprised and flustered by her constantly changing her appearance into forms he found particularly attractive. Tessetty found him to be a kind, friendly person who was easy to talk to and also surprisingly brave for being so weak. She didn’t mind him being weak as shape shifters weren’t very strong either, and his memories showed he could face down those much stronger than himself with his unique weapons. What surprised her the most was that he didn’t seem at all repulsed by her true form and actually touched her. She had only shown her true body once before and they had been disgusted and demanded she turn back immediately. It had not been a pleasant experience, but Chuck was different. He had even given her a nickname which she was fond of.
Tessetty was also fascinated by the memories of his world. It was sometimes difficult to change into the forms, especially those from what he called TV. She liked a challenge though and quickly got used to it. It was hard to choose at times because the options seemed endless. She was also drawn to the music from Earth. Tessetty had never heard anything like it and after she had learned English she liked it even more since she could understand the lyrics. Chuck still had to explain a few of the phrases that she didn’t know the meaning of. Chuck said his world didn’t have magic but the fact that music was contained in the silvery discs seemed magical to her. He even wanted her to help teach him to read and write which she readily agreed.

His pickup was also amazing. She had been slowly getting used to going so fast and it was thrilling for her. Chuck even promised to teach her how to drive. She couldn’t imagine ever driving that fast herself but Tessetty was overjoyed when he told her and couldn’t wait to learn. She had quickly bonded with him and had no regrets. Chuck had been a little shy at first but she had taken the lead and never looked back. He seemed more confident now and more comfortable around her which Tessetty liked. She knew he enjoyed their love making as did she. It was a lot of fun trying out new forms with him. He had yet to find out that she wasn’t a very good cook but she thought he wouldn’t mind and it was something for her to work on.
As they neared Axtol, Chuck commented that something seemed to be wrong and she had to agree. The traffic on the road increased dramatically, all going away from Axtol. Tessetty told Chuck it looked like they were fleeing from the city which made him frown. There was no smoke from the city like it had been attacked or was on fire. He stopped the pickup and tried to wave someone down to see what was going on. The first few didn’t slow down but then one pulled over, seemingly recognizing him. They talked for a bit before Chuck came back and the wagon continued on its way. Chuck explained it was one of the shop keepers he had done business with who told him people were fleeing the city because of an expected monster attack.
