That night they ate the fish they caught and enjoyed the night sky. Chuck asked if they were all stars or if some were planets but they didn’t know what he was talking about. They had brought two tents that were big enough for two people each, but it was a nice night so Tess and Chuck decided to sleep in the back of the pickup. She shared his sleeping bag again which he thoroughly enjoyed. Everyone slept in and after breakfast they did some more fishing and then swam after they caught their full. Tess turned into a classic mermaid while they were swimming and was quite fast in the water. Raz and Maz were surprisingly good swimmers as well but they did grow up next to a river so Chuck should have expected it. He was definitely the weakest link and wasn’t that great in the water. Tess even had to help him after the current started taking him downstream. After they dried off, she turned into a busty dryad of some sort with green skin and green, leafy hair. Her endless transformations never ceased to amaze him.
For lunch they ate some of the food Maz had made, which was delicious as always. Then he let Maz and Tess listen to music while he regaled them with stories about Earth and answered their questions about the bands they were listening to. It was then time to load up and head home before it got dark. It had been a fun and relaxing time and everyone seemed to enjoy it. They had an uneventful drive and the guards welcomed them back to Axtol. The next day Chuck wanted to see about getting a garage built and a gun holster made. He had plenty of money now from the king’s reward which he hadn’t even gotten around to counting yet. Maybe Tess and the siblings could handle it. That night he asked Tess if there was anything she wanted to do but she just wanted to be with him.

They slept well and after breakfast Chuck took the heavy bag of coins out of the tool box. Raz and Maz gasped when he dumped it out on the kitchen table. Appropriately sized furniture would be another item on the list or maybe he should see about some of the magical size altering chairs. Tess looked like a bunny girl today with white, fuzzy rabbit ears and a fluffy white tail. She helped count the money with Raz and Maz while Chuck made a shopping list. The money should last them quite a while but he wanted a way to earn money as well. They all went with him to go shopping after the money was safely put away. Most stores were back open again so it wasn’t hard to find all they needed.
Chuck worked with a builder to figure out what he wanted for a garage. It would have a pair of doors in the front that would swing back and that could be locked. It would be big enough for his truck plus some extra storage room. The builder said it would take two weeks to build so Chuck agreed and put down a deposit. They then found the equivalent of a leather worker and discussed what he wanted for a holster. Chuck showed him the gun and they worked out the dimensions. The holster would be done in a couple days. After that they went to a furniture store and Chuck inquired about magical chairs like he had seen previously. Evidently they worked with the alchemy guild to make them and although expensive, Chuck thought he could afford it. He ordered a few and was told they would be delivered to his house when they were done.
After he was done shopping, they found a restaurant to eat lunch in and then headed back home. Chuck was glad he had gotten all his business taken care of. His plan was to head to the alchemy guild tomorrow and discuss a few things he had been mulling over in his mind. He also wanted to know if the guild had any knowledge of his futuristic gun.
