Chuck was sweating profusely, waiting for what the king was going to say. “My daughter would like to have tea with you.” The king pronounced. “Huh?” Chuck said, dumbstruck. “You see, she is something of a book worm and loves the stories about otherworlders so has been wanting to meet one.” The king continued, glancing to the queen. Chuck noticed a young dragon, a little taller than him, peeking out from behind the queen’s throne with blue scales like her mother. “Oh, I would be honored to have tea with the princess.” Chuck said bowing, relieved that was all it was. The princess smiled before disappearing behind the queen again. “Wonderful, I hope you continue to enjoy your time in the capital and our kingdom.” The king said, dismissing them.
Chuck thought they would be taken back to the carriage but it appeared the tea party would start immediately. They were led out a different door and into a huge garden area. Flowers and shrubs were arranged in intricate patterns with paths running everywhere. It was all very beautiful and Tess looked to be in heaven. A gazebo sat off to the side which seemed to be their destination. They were seated and soon the princess arrived with the queen. “Thank you again for humoring my daughter otherworlder. My name is Ixz and this is the first princess Lyz.” The queen said gesturing at Lyz who still seemed to be shy. “It’s an honor to meet you. You can just call me Chuck.” Chuck said, standing up and bowing. He was embarrassed that he didn’t know their names already and it occurred to him that he still didn’t know the kings name. He would have to ask Tess later.
They said their daughter was the one interested in otherworlders but the queen asked just as many questions about Earth as her daughter. Chuck didn’t mind though, and Tess was learning things about Earth as well. He guessed images from his memories only let her know so much. Chuck thought the royals seemed nice enough and the princess was adorable and got over her shyness pretty quickly. Well, adorable for a dragon anyway. The tea was good too but soon enough the tea party came to an end. The princess was sad to see them go and the queen told them they could come visit anytime. Chuck wasn’t sure if he would take her up on the offer since the royals still made him nervous. Being friends with the leaders of the kingdom could come in handy someday though, and it was kind of fun talking to the queen and princess. They acted like regular people and weren’t stuck up or snobbish.

As they were riding back to the guild, Chuck had another question that had been on his mind. “Tess, why are demon kin called demon kin? Where did the name come from? Is there a demon lord?” Chuck asked, turning to face her. “I’ve never heard of a demon lord but legends say an otherworldler named all the races long ago.” Tess replied, holding his hand. “Really, huh, that’s interesting. By the way, do dragons exist? The royal family kind of look like dragons to me.” Chuck continued, squeezing her hand back. “They are demon kin called dragonoids but there are no dragons like in your memories.” She replied smiling. “Oh, I figured they would be lizard kin instead of demon kin.” Chuck said scratching his head. “Also, it’s a little embarrassing, but I never learned the kings name.” Chuck said awkwardly. “Ha, ha, his name is Kyzoz. He is actually a relative of Kizx.” Tess said laughing.
They arrived back at the guild and decided to go get something to eat. Chuck locked his reward money inside his truck’s toolbox for now. He had no idea how much it was, but it felt like a lot. Tess took them to a nearby restaurant and they ate while discussing what to do the next day. Chuck felt he had accomplished everything he set out to do in the capital and wanted to head back to Axtol. He was kind of worried about Raz and Maz and didn’t want to be gone too long. “I should have asked this earlier, but do you have any problems living in Axtol? I have a house there and took in a couple beast kin kids who are working for me. I know you will be away from your clan but we can come back to visit from time to time.” Chuck asked nervously. “We are bonded now so where you go, I go. I’ve never been to Axtol but I’ve heard it’s nice. Besides, I’m looking forward to riding in your pickup.” She replied, smiling mischievously. “Do you have anything you want to bring with you? There is plenty of room in the truck.” Chuck continued, relaxing. “I don’t have much, but I’ll pack and meet you at the guild tomorrow. I can’t wait to see your house.” She said excitedly.
