Scene 2 - Splitting up

In the morning, Marley came walking through the halls, leading an entourage of black-robed men and women towards the sibling’s room. Loudly opening the door, Marley gazed around at the still snoring siblings. Despite them sleeping all the way till noon, their bodies were actually getting refined by the energy they absorbed the other day.

Before they left, Master Mo told them that tomorrow would be their rest day since their bodies needed to slowly attune with the world qi in order to have a stronger base. After breaking through the Heavenly body refinement stage, one would not have to worry about any damages in training for long periods of time until hunger and thirst set in.

Today the siblings could explore the ship to their heart's content, which is why a dozen or so black-robed men and women were following behind Marley: to be their guides as they walked around.

Slightly tilting her head, Marley wondered why all the girls were sleeping together, but she didn’t ask any questions and awoke the siblings from their slumber, “Wake up my cute juniors! Your escorts have arrived and you’ve five minutes to get dressed or your elder sister is going to beat your bottoms black and blue!”

Saren was the first one to get dressed and exit the room, his eyes borderline cold, “Where are Elder brother Vince and Elder sister Rune? Why didn’t they return last night?”

Marley gave a chuckle as she petted Saren's head, “Oh what a worry wart my dear junior brother is. Don't worry, they are cultivating inside the west wing and if you wish to see them you can. Although it’ll take two days for them to exit, so you'll have to wait outside or waste time in the library in the meantime.”

Saren thought for a moment, tempted to go straight to the library, but choose to first see how his elder brother and sister were doing, “I wish to see where they are before I head off to the Library.”

Marley nodded gently and gestured to her side, “These two will be your guides, use them how you see fit but be warned that their cultivation bases are higher than yours. They can easily beat some sense into you, so treat them well!”

Saren gave a few words of warning to his siblings, asking them to not get into trouble, then he turned around and quickly left, led by the black robed man and woman.

Marley watched him fade into the distance before facing the remaining siblings and gave them a big smile, Marley placed her hand under her chin, “Now… Where do my other cute juniors wish to go?”

Ren showed a serious glint in his eye, making Marley tense up slightly, ‘What could be so serious? It’s as if he’s putting his life on the line!’

Bowing deeply, Ren asked in a loud and serious manner that made the room grow heavy, “I wish to visit the wine distillery that brother Fatty mentioned when we were drinking fine wine, senior-apprentice sister!”  

Marley listened seriously to her junior, only to cuff him upside the head and laugh it off, “That’s it? Why are you so serious in asking to visit the winery? These two will be your guides, so go on. I’m sure you and Elder Absinthe will be kindred spirits.”

Rubbing his head, Ren gave a boyish grin and chuckled as he walked together with the two escorts. Despite being hit by his senior apprentice sister, his thirst wouldn’t be extinguished easily, after all… There was fine wine to be had, just waiting to be tasted by him!

Len and Nena walked forward, and Len shyly beat around the bush so Nena had to say that they wanted to go up to the bridge, wishing to see the sky sea. The two walked away led by four escorts, with Nena excitedly skipping along while pulling on Len's hand.

The twins had a mischievous glint in their eyes that went unnoticed by Marley, “We’re heading to the kitchen for a snack!”

With their departure, Xue and Marley were left in the hallway with two silent escorts. An awkward silence filled the air between the two as Xue fidgeted with her hands, not knowing what to say to her senior apprentice sister.

Marley moved forward, grabbing Xue’s hands and staring directly into her eyes, “Whatcha thinking about, my cute junior? Come on, I’ll show you something that will make you happy!”

Ignoring the small protest Xue made, Marley dismissed the two escorts and dragged Xue down the hallway.
