Chapter 5 - Scene 3

Chapter 5 - Scene 3

Scene 3 - Monstrous talent

Sitting in a semi-circle around their master, the seven youths sat in the same manner as he did as they closed their eyes to attune themselves to the world qi.

Nena slowly fell into a trance enabling her to feel the energy, ‘The air suddenly got easier to breathe. What is this sensation?’

The world qi of her elements surrounded her, covering her in a warm blanket and making her feel like she was floating in the air as light as a feather. As she was instructed by Master Mo, Nena used the one by three breathing method to build up world qi inside her body. The world qi entered her in small waves, building up within her dantian in her bottom half.

A steady stream of energy filled every nook and cranny within her dantain. Soon enough five hours had passed in a blink of an eye before she felt as if she hit a bottleneck of some sort.  If she wanted to she could break through with ease, but for now, she resisted the urge to break into the first realm.

Their master had warned them that if they had a feeling of breaking, though, they must suppress the urge and create the stablest foundation they could. The twelve stages of Heavenly Body Refinement was extremely important and had to be gone through with care since it would decide your future cultivation progress.

Nena sat there, begrudgingly absorbing vast amounts of world qi like a mini vortex, consuming everything around her with only matter remaining unchanged. Master Mo watched on as he controlled the levels of World Qi in the room and had disbelief show on his face when he sensed that Nena had reached her bottleneck and achieved the peak of energy before entering the first rank.

‘As expected of a heaven-defying quad soul, she didn’t even need to search for World qi before it surrounded her. It swims around her eagerly, as if it would be more than happy to follow her commands. Heaven knows what would happen if she ever awakens. Although the others have only just started reaching the mid-half stage, their improvement is also shocking to the extent that if Nena wasn’t here, any one of them would be classified as the highest talent of their generation!

Although they are a little bit inferior to their sister, the rest are monsters in their own right. After all, if they awaken they will most likely…  Within my eyes their souls would have a 90% chance to mutate, gaining a third element if they awaken. Even the oldest has a great chance of awakening a third element. My intuition never lies to me!’

After ten hours had passed the seven exited the room feeling as if their bodies were filled with the vigor of dragons and the ferocity of tigers!

Master Mo nodded with praise, “Mhmm very good, you have all reached the bottleneck of the first rank. Now refine the energy you have gained into the purest form you can, then gather world qi again and repeat the process until you fully fill your dantain with the purest of energy. I will not allow you to break though otherwise.”

Master Mo called Skinny over and told him to bring them all to the dining room. With a bow, the skinny robed man led the seven siblings away from their master.

Master Mo then mused to himself, ‘I wonder what surprises the other two will bring me?

With such thoughts going through his mind, Master Mo began walking to the west wing. What he saw when he entered made him start panting, his eyes open widely and caused his mind to reel.

His daughter Marley was just as stunned as he, but she had been watching for a while now so naturally, she was the first to speak, “Father you picked up some true monsters. Just look at that. The domes are leaking magical energy, I wonder what sort of spell they will learn from the old gods?”

Master Mo shook himself out of his daze and replied, “Who knows. Only the God and the person receiving truly knows what gift they will get. Heck, their souls might mutate because of the blessing. All we can do is wait.”
