Scene 3 - Useless!
Diana's group grew tense once again check in their surroundings readying their weapons. Even Jayce straightened up his attitude keeping his eyes open staring at every shadow to death.
Seeing this Diana knew that hunting anymore right now was useless with everyone jumping at shadows in her group so she gave the call.
“We’ve hunted enough for today let's take a break and rest for a time let's set up camp at that intersection!”
The group sighed as their muscles relaxed slightly nodding in approval along with murmurs of agreement. Using nearby beast corpses as a makeshift wall a small fire was lit in the middle to be used for cooking.
Despite being a labyrinth the ventilation system inside was done well enough to cook without fear of suffocation. The group sat down together with some acting as guard duty while Jayce and Strawberry took over cooking duties.
Surprisingly even though Jayce spent most of his time on the battlefield his cooking skills were pretty good. While the stew was being cooked Diana took it upon herself to take first shift guard duty to set an example.
Garundi also went up for guard duty his large frame a silent mountain watching over the hallways. In camp, the remaining seven youths sat down and relaxed drinking from their bottles of water while making jokes.
An average looking girl with a spiral ponytail spoke up concern within her eyes,”Do you think we'll run into a boss? Do you think they'll be strong? What do you think Luke?”
The boy named Luke snacking on a candy bar look up at a spiral girl and laughed, “Don't worry Jwaul the chances of us running into 1 of the 12 is pretty low. Heck, we might not even run into 1 of them for the rest of the examination!”
At this point in time, Jayce’s wooden spoon handle broke from the ladle making his eyes narrow.
'What a bad omen… just had to open his mouth, I should sow his mouth shut.’
Jayce's fears of bad luck were realized almost instantly as a playful figure appeared in the middle of the group passing by the guards with ease.
The man wore strange clothing smiling away he announced to the surprised group, “Hello newbies! Ready to play a game?”
His words made Jayce's skin crawl as sweat formed on his back. He instinctively knew that this person was 1 of the 12 bosses.

Appearing like a phantom the handsome man with weird eyes reached out to a nearby youth and grabbed his shoulder. When he made contact in a shocking turn of events the youth disappeared body turned into pixels of wight light and flowing straight into his pocket.
The group around Libra became scared silly at their compounds sudden disappearance that they jumped away in fright, but not before he could capture another two. At this point, the remaining ten youths were ordered by Diana who had quickly taken notice of the intruder to surround him.
She was furious over her group lack of guard allowing for three of their comrades into being captured, holding her greatsword at the ready Diana coldly snorted, “You dare barge into the middle of my team and expect we’ll be easy prey ‘boss’? In your dreams!”
Hands in his pockets Libra laughed, “As expected of a warrior princess, your type always tries this method of gathering contestants under your banner to pass the exams. But what you don’t know is. That method is shit.”
“What do you know!”
“Right Diana has helped us get this far!”
Diana smiled at her comrade's responses and felt her morale improve greatly; seeing her response Libra sneered at her naivety, “Foolish princess you dare treat the path of cultivation like the mortal world? Heh, let me crush your idiot dreams of gathering the weak in the world of the strong! Come warrior princess show me what a group of weaklings can do to me a 9th HBR expert!”
Diana growling could be heard through her teeth, “Five-five formation! Frontline charge backline cover their openings!”
The group split off into two different parties with Diana leading the front line while Jayce took the blackline. Seeing five foes charge at him at the same time Libra kept his hands in his pockets and his head held high, “Useless. How Useless!”
“We’ll see about that!”
Pricing with her greatsword at his waist, Garundi smashed from above with his massive fists, while the three other contestants slashed from the other directions. While that was happening the ranged party took aim and reading to fire at a moments notice.
Faced with this formation even an ordinary 9th HBR expert could be heavily injured, but Libra wasn’t an ordinary expert with a smile on his face he reached out and caught Diana’s blade with a single hand.
As soon as she touched it began to turn into particles, resolute she let go of her sword watching it disappear she charged at him with her bare hands only to face a kick to the gut from Libra. Being blasted away Libra turned his gaze at Garundi sending a fist in turn back at him.
When they met Libra was forced back a step as Garundi turned into particles of light. At this point in time, the three other contestants decisively struck Libra’s torso. They expected blood to flow but Libra’s gambeson took the force of blow leaving not leaving a single wound.
Despite being hit by their swords and spears Libra shrugged it off and reached out his hand to one of the close contestants and laughed, “Your weapons league isn’t high enough too wound me should have aimed for my he--”
Strawberry arrow flew through that air aimed at Libra’s head that it caught him off guard it was too close for him to dodge! Strawberry raised her head in arrogance, ‘This is what you get for picking on big sister and brother die!’
Only she was too shy to say it she looked at Jayce for a head pat only too see his eyes full of shock at Libra’s direction. Turning her head in bewilderment Libra’s head was tilted it back with an arrow sticking out of his head or so Strawberry thought.
Only to see his head slowly raise up to see an arrow caught in his mouth using his teeth, spitting out the arrowhead a vein head appeared forehead. A chilling smile on his lips made Strawberry shiver with fear as turned his head at her direction, “I haven’t had demi-rabbit stew before I wonder how it tastes?”
