Scene 3 - Vince? Eh?!

He pointed to Karrin, who coldly snorted, giving him a look, “I could have taken them all myself, I didn’t need you to save me! Also who the fuck are you?”

He let loose one an arrow, which brushed against her cheek, drawing a thin line of blood, “Oi, princess. I didn’t come to save you; I just want the points so don’t interfere with my prey! So sit there, look pretty, and stay silent. If you can even manage that much!”

How mouth was hung wide open as sweat trickled down her face. This shitty boy! She gritted her teeth; she was not in the condition to provoke him in her current state.

But the thought of tearing him limb from limb surfaced in her mind if she was given a chance she would kill this youth who dared to step on her pride! Continuing to gnash her teeth, she remained silently leaning on the wall, allowing the scene to unfold.

Saren gave a rare smile, and then turned his attention back to the four wincing youths, “Good! Now that that’s settled, you four want to keep your lives? Give me all your points all but one and your potions to boot! Or I shall cripple your third legs!”

The four covered their family jewels whimpering with fear, whilst they sent their talisman’s numbers 19, 13, 18, and 17 over to Saren and then gave them their bags as well. This raised his point value to 125, turning his tattoo to the color gold. To make sure they gave him all their points, he had them show their arms afterward.

None of them were lying, so with slight pity, Saren drew two tier-one potions from one of the bags; laughing, he threw them over to the four youths, “Fight for them.”

Turning his back on them, he started to leave when Karrin yelled at him. Anger settled in her eyes whilst exclaiming, “I’m going to pay you back tenfold for the humiliation you gave me!”

He didn’t care and kept on walking, he didn’t force the girl to give him anything for he felt the sense of danger coming from her. Something told him within his bones she was more trouble dead than alive.

Saren rose his hand up and stuck his pinky out, which meant flipping her the bird in their culture. He walked a few meters before seeing something odd... that was Vince?

“Vince!”, Saren yelled with joy! It was a pain traveling alone, but now that his brother was right in front of him he’d have someone to take with him! Behind Vince were two little girls that were dressed like they were from the jungle. All three held a large egg within each of their hands, and after a few moments of no response, he wondered why Vince and the other two were running towards him.

Then the ground started to quake and rumble before he saw them. Monsters… Monsters in all shapes and sizes rounded the corner; extreme anger filled the eyes of the many. They stampeded after his brother and the two girls next to him. Vince then finally noticed in his exhausted vision his younger brother, he was happy to see him safe which then turned into fearfulness.

‘Never mind that’, shaking his random thoughts away he roared, “STOP STANDING THERE LIKE A SIX ARMED SLOTH AND FUCKING RUN SAREN!”, Shaken from his stupor, Saren didn’t give it another thought and ran, ran for his very life.

He headed back into the room he just left to see that the girl was still standing there in shock, ‘Guess no one had ever given her the pinky’ he thought. Turning his head, he saw that the four youths were still struggling over the two potions, unfortunately, they had wounded each other greatly and wouldn’t be able to run away from the upcoming storm. Paying no heed to those about to die, he kept sprinting, as time was running out.

The girl's face turned red with anger as he got closer, “How dare you come bac...”

Saren ran past her, then turned back, despite remembering his bad feeling, he started to pull her away, ‘Why am I thinking of saving her? Whatever, Mom always said: never leave a lady in distress, unless that lady is trying to kill you.’

Stunned by his act, even Karrin didn’t know how to react, he tried to drag her, but she didn’t want to bulge. Pulling her hand away from him, she tried to stab him by pulling out her knife from her vest, only for it to be knocked away by his swift movements.

Furious, he pressed her against the wall and forcefully turned her head to where he had just come from. Right in time to see Vince and the jungle girls running for their dear life, followed by the hoard of monsters behind them.

Then he turned her face towards his, he said in a calm voice that sounded bone-chilling, “See, princess? If you don’t want to get eaten, princess, then I suggest you… FUCKING RUN!!!”

He grabbed her hand once again and pulled, this time without resistance they ran hand in hand. It didn’t take long for Vince and the girls to catch up to them; it came as no surprise since Karrin was still exhausted from her previous run. The four youths had tried to run away, but they were wounded from fighting each other, unable to run.

They screamed and howled in pain as the monster crushed and tore their bodies limb from limb or into meat paste. Soon, crunching sounds followed afterward; the monsters were eating their flesh and bones, whilst they were still alive. The five paled from the beastial roars and the sounds that came from behind them; with the ever-approaching monsters on their trail, they dared not look back.
