Scene 1 - Gemini
Day eight came off as a chaotic mess for the masses as teams started to turn on one another for points. Killing ran rampant for fear of fighting bosses and those that already had started fervently, using any means possible to avoid the insane tests.
But such a sudden act of thievery had started well before the test in one unlikely place several hours before.
...
Several hours ago the twins and Drake had set up camp in a safe room to eat some food and relax after getting a good haul. The three had around five hundred points each saved up. With this amount, they stood a pretty good chance of passing the second exam with ease.
Today was Drake’s turn to cook the food to which he brought out a cube from his pocket and pulled out a pan and a heater to boil some water. Throwing some cut up potatoes, carrots, and meat he had decided to cook some stew for the three of them to eat.
While they waited to eat they sat cross-legged and started to gather qi around them to refill their reserves. They were fighting tooth and nail with some beast previously and were pretty drained so it was the best time to regain their energy.
Seeing this Drake smiled warmly seeing the twins trust him so much, ‘Idiots. Finally after cooking dinner for you ungrateful bastards every day is going to pay off!’
With the soup finished he got his plan into action. Filling up two bowls with stew and he secretly opened his cube up and took out a small potion bottle and poured the contents inside. While he did this he made sure his back was towards the twins, as he poured the sleeping potion inside of it.
The clear mixture blended into with the soup, not changing the smell or taste in the slightest. Finished with the deed Drake turned around putting on a smile, “Hey guys the food is done, come eat!”
Waking up from their cultivation the twins stood up and went over to him. Grabbing the bowl from him they started digging into the soup with a spoon.
Seeing them finish their soup with no hesitation Drake laughed inwardly, but kept his smiling expression, “Slow down and enjoy the soup! There is plenty more where that came from!”
“Seconds!”
“Another one!”
With their bowls held out the twins asked for another serving not giving a single thanks made a vein pop out of Drake’s head, ‘These little shits, just wait for that potion to take effect!’
It took the fourth bowl of stew for Drake to see his sleeping potion start to take effect on the twins. Their eyes becoming heavy he knew soon it would be the time to strike!
“It seems you guys have gotten tired after fighting the whole day. How about you get some sleep and I’ll get first watch and wake you up when it’s your turn. How does that sound?”

His eyes half closed Sol shook his head up and down with a goofy smile,“Un that sounds… wonderful…”
Luna shook her head in agreement and pulled out her sleeping back and cuddled inside after putting her head on her pillow she promptly went to sleep.
Sol followed her lead and went to sleep in his own sleeping bag, seeing this Drake inwardly was full of laughter, ‘Fools your point are mine! Thanks for serving your purpose as tools!
Betrayed
Back to the current time long after the announcement of the 2nd exam was made, the pot of stew had cooled to room temperature.
Rubbing her eyes Luna woke up crawling out of her sleeping bag. Since she was second shift she guessed Drake fell asleep on his watch and forgot to wake her.
Scanning the room her eyes started to grow wider and wider in bewilderment as she checked the room. Alas no matter where she looked Drake was nowhere in sight.
Feeling the sense of foreboding she glanced at her arm, ‘He didn’t… He wouldn’t betray us!’
Pulling up her sleeve her fears were answered as a dull golden glow of 100 points lay bare. More than four hundred points had been removed. The emotions of betrayal, shock, and anger filled her body all at once making Luna's eyes twitch in anger.
Venom, hatred, murderous intent started filling her veins as she dug her hands into the moss tearing it up. Around this time Sol woke up with a yawn cleaning the droll off his face and noticed his sister's angry expression.
“What happened sis? Did you we-”
“I haven’t wet the bed in a year you fool! No! Drake stole our talismans! Look at your arm and you will see the truth!”
Sol eyes grew wide like his sister and became instantly awake; wiggled out of his sleeping bag and checked the number of talismans on his arm. It was as his sister told him Drake had taken their points and made out like a bandit.
But unlike his sister, he was calm about being stolen from. Seeing how her brother reacted Luna yelled at him, “Why do you look so calm! Our ally betrayed us! He stole our points and ran away!”
Sol got out of his sleeping bag and started to stretch, “So? Yah he stole our points, but he left us enough points to pass. He could have done much worse like stealing all out points or even dragging us outside and killing us. Ever since we started cultivating we’ve never fallen so deeply into sleep, he must have drugged us sister and it would have easy for him to do it.”
Seething in anger Luna’s right eye twitched with fury, “And that’s the reason you’re so composed?!”
“Yep. I mean we have about a week left to get more point we can make about the same amount of points so no biggie.”
With her brother acting you calm and collected Luna didn’t know what to do with her anger and snorted looking away, “Whatever! But if we see him again he’s going to get a beating! You can count on that!”
With a smile, Sol nodded his head, “That we can agree on. Well, let’s head out and gain some points after all the bosses will be coming soon in a few hours we need at least a point for each of us to pay them.’
While the two were conversing a charming manly voice came from the safe room doorway. “Do you think they mean us, little brother?”
Turning their heads to the new voice Sol and Luna saw two figures standing in the way one tall, the other short with the short one playing with a card in his hand. If you looked closely you could see a tower with the symbol of Gemini imprinted on it. The rest of the picture was depicting some sort of ancient battlefield that seemed murky and bleak full of bodies.
Readying their weapons for a fight Luna expressed her contempt, “Who are you!”
The short one’s eyes tilted his head in bewilderment and point at himself then his elder brother, “Us? We’re Gemini the necromancer brothers!”
