Chapter 24 - Scene 3 - Ice Tiger

Scene 3 - Ice Tiger

Vince yelled back to his little brother, “Don’t worry about me, little bro! I’ll be alright! So run and survive, I’ll see you after the test is done!”

That’s right; Vince knew it was selfish of him to only have himself burdened by this trial without Saren. He was even glad that the jungle girls understood his intentions. He had tried his best to take all the hardships of his siblings and shoulder it.

That was the only way he could think of, to atone for the sins on his hands that he had committed so long ago. To have Rune live a great and good life and to protect those around him, the best he could.

Such were his thoughts while fleeing from the swarm of unrelenting monsters. Left… Right… they tried their best to get away, only to have hope shattered in front of them. The path turned into a dead end for them, there was no escape…

With their back against the wall, the trio faced off against the swarm. If they were going to die, then they would die on their feet, fighting! If hope was gone they would make their own path for life!

Weirdly, the eggs detached from their hands as their thoughts pointed to this conclusion. With a wave of his hand, Vince collected the eggs into his bag of holding. Then he prepared his gravity magic, readying his axes to go all out!

Hesitant, the swarm of monsters stopped dead in their tracks, evidently fearful of crossing the 20 meters boundary. Vince had hope that his magic could get him out of this; determination filled every fiber of his being as he grinned viciously, looking like a demon.

The jungle sisters weren't any slower, flanking each side of Vince, spears in hand and ready to fight gloriously in battle. They gave off a savage grin on a much more profound level than even Saren.

Slowly, a large monster stepped out of the crowd; the rest of the monsters made a pathway. Clearly, it was the boss of this pack; it moved its massive frame with arrogance, as it was two meters wide and three meters tall. Its single eye was bloodshot, whilst hunger and anger filled its stance. The monster’s muscled body, full of power, moved heavily on its four legs.

It was a rare gray-ice tiger!

Wherever the tiger stepped forward, chilling icy air rushed out of his paws, dropping the temperature by ten degrees. The other monsters could barely contain themselves in rushing forward with their leader. With a huge roar from the tiger, the rest of the monsters quelled their voices and bowed their heads in fear.

Savagely, the ice tiger turned its big head, before locking its red eye onto Vince, making him feel the full brunt of the suffocating pressure. His face paled as he felt his built up courage fall to rock bottom levels.

The tiger turned out to be a rank six beast!

Vince's face fell, he knew he wasn't strong enough to kill or even wound this ice tiger. Still, he had to try; he would rather fight impossible odds just for the slight chance to see Rune once again!

He yelled, ready to lay his life on the line to fight, “Let's fight you big fucking furball!”

In response to clearly being offended, the tiger anger reached its apex as it ruthlessly rushed at Vince with powerful speed. The distance closed to three meters in a blink of an eye. By that time Vince had finished his original spell >>Axe Cannon<<; it must be noted at this time Vince’s naming sense sucked.

It was the same attack that he had used against Rune. By now he had doubled the power of the after refining his magical power to the third rank!

“Go! >>Axe Cannon<< Cleave away my Path!”

Creating a vortex of eight, Vince shot out his ninth axe in blinding speed towards the ice tiger. Sparks flew as the two attacks collided one axe and one claw. A boom followed which made Vince fly back into the wall coughing a mouthful of blood. The tiger flew back only six feet unscathed by Vince’s all-out attack; it had an arrogant expression glimmer in its eye, seeing this mere human unworthy of his time.

Both the jungle girls followed up in Vince's attack only to meet the same result as coughing up blood the two were sent back into the wall. Unwillingness filled Vince; he didn’t want it to end like this, he wanted to be by Rune’s side for forever.

The ice tiger stalked proudly forward step by step taking it’s time, playing with them as if they were his food. At this time Vince was about to voice out escape when he heard the creaking and groaning of the Labyrinth. He gave a devilish smile at the wary tiger when a wall came crashing down in front of them.

Vince laughed up some blood in joy as he could hear; the angry roar of the ice tiger fade off into the distance. He laugher sounded sinister finding great joy in how the poor kitty felt, which startled the jungle girls.

They thought he was mad! Who in their right mind would laugh at death! Oh, right they would… haha! The three of them laughed while treating their wounds by drinking tier 2 potions; they were pretty ruffed up just from that single attack.

When the three were done laughing the two girls requested; no, outright demanded the eggs from Vince. Naturally, he didn’t want to get on the bad side of these two sisters and pulled out the two eggs for them.

In hand, the girl’s immediately tried breaking the eggs with their spears with no luck. There was a complex formation set on eggs that would throw off their spears. They tried everything after that point; biting, hitting it with their fists, smashing it on the ground. Vince found it very comical what they were trying to do.

Enraged with tears in their eyes, the jungle girls threw the eggs at the wall in a desperate attempt to break them. Vince watched on as the two eggs bounced off the walls and smashed into the girl's foreheads. Landing on their butts, the eggs mockingly hung in the air floating around the girl’s heads; clearly pleased in their work or so the girls thought.
