Scene 2 - Qi Art
Carefully, Ren exited the room, making sure there were no other trip wires or traps before running right, towards the direction that the girl had taken. As luck would have it, Ren didn’t run into any other traps. He quickly caught up to see the back of the girl who had almost killed him!
Ren didn’t underestimate the girl anymore; he now kept his pace fast and even placed his hand on his sword hilt. The girl turned at the end of the wall to the right, by now Ren was twenty meters away from her. He was so caught up in catching her, he almost didn’t notice a very subtle string that flashed a small hint of blue from the wall’s light!
He was only a two steps way! Gritting his teeth, he managed to stop, just when the string started cutting into his jacket and faintly into his skin, making him bleed slightly. He stepped back slowly, looked around and found a lengthy sized vine, growing out of the wall, before cutting it off with his sword.
Picking it up, he slowly pressed it onto the string that was now revealed with his blood and it was cut with ease. Leaving a cut that even he was amazed by! It left a smooth mirror-like shine. He then imagined what it would be like if he kept going, then suddenly thought about how lucky he was! Another cold sweat dripped down his face.
Pulling out -Night Star- Ren’s eyes showed decisiveness as he slashed his blade downwards, onto the bloody string! This was the perfect test for his blade! With ease, the blade cut through the blood string and the two halves fell down. It made Ren happy that he now had a way to proceed without much risk of harming himself.
This was his sixth mistake; he got overconfident.
Without much effort, Ren cut the sharp strings while running with -Night star- in hand, to the best of his ability. Still, this girl’s craftiness was apparent to him; she had set up dozens upon dozens of sharp strings. Making Ren’s pursuit much harder on him, as wounds covered his entire body.
They were from the slightest touch from the sharp stings, even after cutting them! If he ran too fast, he would end up touching the strings either the bits that were falling or those that were stuck on the ceiling!

A few minutes passed by, as Ren finally managed to catch up to the girl again and was forty meters behind her this time! With a grin, Ren started running faster as he cut any string she had put behind her.
With a cool voice that was a little furious, the girl yelled back Ren, “You’re a persistent little bug, I’ll give you that. I, the great Karrin shall remember you, the insect that got on my nerves!”
Ren was stunned by her words and then yelled back, “I just want my backpack and a little revenge Karrin, come on! You know I’m going to catch you!”
Gritting her teeth, Karrin made a hand gesture and out of thin air one black and ten green balls appeared. With another flick of her wrist, a gooey string appeared and became attached to all the eleven balls, encasing them in an elongated cocoon. She wasn’t done as she took out a thirty odd knifes and stuck them near the black ball, that was in front, like teeth.
With eyes full of anger Karrin retorted coldly, “If you wanna die so badly bug, I shall oblige you!”
Karrin then bit her thumb and placed a strange mark on the gooey string, after which a roar followed as a blood-curdling screech came from the cocoon of string, knives, and balls! The mass of objects started to float in midair. At this moment in time, Ren had stopped running forward and kept his hand on -Night Star-, ready for anything!
Karrin had a vicious look in her eyes as she roared with fury, “Go, original Qi Art >>One eyed Leviathan<< Burn the world to ash!”
(Author's note: Yes another vulgar joke)
The giant ball transformed into a massive, flaming head of a beast. The beast had one eye as black as the night, with knives as teeth, gleaming blazing fury. Its giant flaming body filled the entire hallway, its mouth wide open. The only thought this beast of flame had, was to consume everything in its path, which unfortunately was where Ren was currently standing.
Sweat instantly drenched his back, as a claw of death seemed to grip tightly around his neck, making his breathing forced and shallow.
Having a premonition of certain death, Ren sheathed Night Star and pulled out Othin, the blade he had found at the smith’s place, and up until now, he had never dared unsheath it. For he feared it would suck him in again with its lullaby.
Bracing himself for her attack, ‘All or nothing’ were the only words on his mind as he pulled out Othin. He didn’t know any of -Night Stars-attacks so he could only go for one desperate move to defend against Karrin's overbearing attack.
He hoped that Othin’s song this time would be completely different in his time of need. When the blade made contact with the air a song of tranquillity began to play from the blade blowing away his feelings of despair and certain death under a warm breeze, controlling the fear it submission Ren eyes glazed over.
Qi began to gather.
