Chapter 16 - Scene 1 - Overpowering

Scene 1 - Overpowering

“Weak… What a weakling!” Eclipse said loudly for all to hear.

Eclipse eye’s shown disgust at his opponent, “How dare he? With that lack of skill challenge the pit?’

It sickened him.

Just as Eclipse was about to walk out of the ring the announcer yelled, “Wait! What’s that in the dust?!”

As the dust settled a figure stood tall; blood flowing down his face from a wound on his forehead. It was Sol! His hands up to his face created a shadow that covered his eyes.

A voice heavy with emotion resounded through the bloody arena, “I cannot be weak... I mustn't be weak… I don’t want to lose anyone ever again! AHHHHHHHHHHH!”

Sol ran at full force planting each foot into the brown sand yelling at the top of his lungs, yet Eclipse wasn’t moved in the slightest by how Sol was acting. Seeing that Eclipse hadn’t moved Sol let loose a fearsome punch!

Now close to his opponent Sol used the memories of his weapon to throw a punch full of destruction shooting forward like an arrow; all his determination into this one punch he would break through!

Eclipse eyes narrowed slightly as he moved his head in a strange manner dodging by mere inches, he counter attacked by throwing a punch into Sol’s gut. Though it didn’t connect as he expected, with a smile Sol’s hand opened up at that moment and grabbed at the back of Eclipse’s head!

With a pull of momentum, Sol lifted his leg and ruthlessly smashed his knee into Eclipses head! Yet, how could one of the top ten in the pit not expect this tactic? With just his right-hand Eclipse quickly blocked in front of his face stopping Sol knee right in his tracks.

“What fearsome arm power!” Thought Sol.

Gripping his knee still, Eclipse held Sol easily in which he ruthlessly continued his previous attack by punching Sol stomach with his free hand. Sol flew backward by two meters landing flat on his back.

All the wind was knocked out of Sol at that moment if this wasn’t the area his internal organs would have been heavily injured from that attack. Despite the lack of air, he rolled on instinct, as soon as he moved a foot smashed straight into the ground where he once was.

Eclipse eye’s turned vicious, “Is that all you got? Little punk? Let me put you out of your misery!”

As Sol tried to recover his breathing Saren, Luna and Dela were extremely worried.

Saren turned to Dela, “Why are they not calling the match? Clearly, my younger brother is outmatched!”

Dela shook her head, “The only way to call a match is for one person to admit defeat, be knocked out, not able to get up within ten seconds. We can do nothing to help Sol; we can only cheer him on.”

Luna gnashed her teeth as she yelled, “Brother! Don’t lose! Remember our promise!”

Saren yelled with a sharp tone, “You’re a man right! So fight like one!”

Dela watched on. All her attention was focused on Sol; watching her man desperately fighting a losing battle. Dela had this inescapable feeling of longing in her heart whenever she saw Sol, each passing moment watching him get beat up caused her heartache!

Relying on his weapons memories from his weapon Sol was able to dodge with difficulty trying to recover his breathing; still, his internal energy was in disorder. Sol wasn’t at the level where he could fully tap into the memories of his weapon, yet how could defend well enough.

Eclipse kept up his onslaught of attacks; finally, he noticed Sol’s strange movements and how he moved with second thoughts as if his mind was conflicted. Eclipse flashed a grin coming to an understanding.

He moved back stopping his onslaught and laughed coldly, “Ha-ha... Are you using your memories from your weapon to dodge huh? You're just using them what a small fry! You’ve yet to comprehend them and make them your own haha! What a joke and you came to fight? Let’s see how you handle this!”

Sol had finally regained control of his body; while Eclipse berated him. Sol boiled in anger over what Eclipse had said; after all, he knew it was true. Master Mo told them once that it would be a long time; before they could even hope to make the memories within their weapons their own. That was the tradeoff of strong weapons. Still! Sol wasn’t about to just lie down and admit defeat!

Sol yelled back, “Who cares that you know I’m using memories bandage boy! I rather die on my feet than live on my knees! Then lose to you without giving it my all!”

Disdain and contempt were shown upon Eclipses face. Who did this punk kid think he was? Some hero? Ha! Then where were these so called heroes when his clan was wiped out on the day of bloody eclipse? Where was his justice when his father and mother died to protect his life? What about the other children? Where was there justice? They only had Aunt Moonlight to protect them!
