Special Ep 2.39(p. final) - That time I was reincarnated into another world and went out with a bang
It was finally time! When you thought of reincarnating and bringing over technology from Earth, what was the first thing you thought of? Obviously, making Japanese food. But after that, it was obviously modern appliances recreated with bullshit magic. But after, that of course... the answer was guns!
After all, guns were the pinnacle of technology, and the ultimate unrivaled weapon. Even things like dragons, or anime swordsmen, or wizards who could make explosions by making a kissy face were no match for a the power of hot lead.
But... this wasn't the time to invent a gun itself. I was already stronger than pretty much anything on this world without a gun, so adding guns to the mix would just be way too OP! Plus, if I wanted one, I could just buy another one off [Sahara Prime]. But, I'd have to almost invent guns, because so far as I understood, fireworks were like guns that exploded after you used them.
"Gunpowder?" Bonbon asked, rudely eavesdropping on my shouting as she ate her ice cream. "What's that? Is it some type of seasoning?"
I rolled my eyes. Silly Bonbon with her food obsession. You couldn't eat gunpowder unless you were a cowboy.
"No, I'm making [Fireworks]," I explained. I started doing some warmup stretches. This would be pretty rough. I had a vague idea of the ingredients in gunpowder, but if the Isekai stories I'd read were any indication, that was more than enough to make it myself!
Bonbon blinked at me, dropping her spoon in the bowl. She was obviously flirting with me, but I didn't have the time to humor her right now! I was on a mission!
"Wait a second," she asked, her voice strained for some reason. "What do you mean 'make'? You can't make [Fireworks], can you? It's... it's a [Cash Shop Item], right?"
Ciel nodded. "Yeah, it's pretty cheap, too. I spend my leftover Gacha coins on [Fireworks] whenever Kamiko is gonna do a [Karaoke] Visitation."
I chuckled. "Well, don't worry. Where I come from, it's super easy to make."
"You mean, 'over that way'?" Bonbon asked, taking a bite of her ice cream. I felt a chill go down the back of my neck, and gulped in case it was ice cream I'd eaten earlier and forgotten about. T-that was close! I'd almost revealed my big secret!
"Y-yes," I lied. I waited, holding my breath, but Bonbon didn't immediately call me out. Whew! It looked like my cover wasn't blown yet. Bonbon seemed none the wiser.
"There's only three ingredients in gunpowder," I explained. "Charcoal, Sulfur, and... uh..." Wait a second. What was the third one again? "S-so...sa, uh..."
"Saltpeter, wan!" Wanda reminded me. I snapped my fingers, then reached over to give her headpats for saving my bacon. "Yeah, saltpepper," I repeated.
"Uh, we might have some charcoal left," Ciel replied, glancing towards the grill. "But I dunno if we have any of that other stuff."
I crossed my arms triumphantly, "Heh... that's my secret. You see, all three of those have something in common:"
I flexed my arm, clenching my fist. "All three of them... are made out of elements! Which means..." I grinned a smile, "I can make them with my [Elemental Fist]!"
Wanda and Bonbon exchanged a look, before scooting their chairs a bit further away from me. Huh? If I didn't know any better, I'd think they were scared, but I didn't really get why. You'd think they expected it to blow up in my face or something.
"Hiro-kun, bro... that's awesome!" Ciel exclaimed. "You'd save so many Gacha coins if you could make them yourself!"
"Well, prepare to be amazed!" I told her, cracking my knuckles. This... was gonna be tough. I could create any element I wanted using [Elemental Fist]. My right fist could punch any element into existence, and my left fist could punch any element out of existence. I could also break things down into their component elements. It wasn't that hard at a glance, but... charcoal, sulfur, and saltpeter were all made out of a LOT of elements!
Still, I couldn't give up before I'd even started! I'd just have to punch really fast, and really accurately. I got to work, punching at about 0.6 Oras, taking it slow at first to keep things accurate. I started to punch, forming the elements atom-by-atom, punching them into shape to form the ingredients I needed. Charcoal briquettes started to form around my knuckles, falling into a pile in the sand in front of me. Once I had enough, I started in on the sulfur, punching into existence, letting the powder fall into the pile to mix with charcoal. Last of all, I did the saltpeter.
By the end of it, my fingers were raw and stinging, and my MP was getting dangerously low, dipping below 75% of my maximum. Still! I couldn't stop here! I had to finish it! I punched faster, mashing and mixing up the ingredients. I let out a long roar as I accelerated my punching.
"Rrraaaaaaaaagh!" I shouted, "Take this!"
I delivered one final blow on the mixture, and was met with a sudden flash of light! I jerked back, blinking, to find something odd! The gunpowder... was all gone! And worse than that, there was red text floating in front of my eyes. What the heck was this?
[Technological Violation Infraction]
You have attempted to [Craft] a [Prohibited Substance]. Your results and remaining ingredients have been confiscated. This is your first Infraction.
Huh? I glanced down to see that the divine message hadn't been lying! There was nothing but sand in front of me. What... what the heck was this?! I was instantly filled with a frustrated rage. How could this damn [System] tell me what I could or couldn't do! Who did it think it was?
"D-did it explode?" Bonbon asked. I turned to glance at her. She had retreated back to the shack, hiding behind the corner of the building with Wanda, who was carrying the rest of the ice cream.
I glared down at the empty spot where my gunpowder should have been, my blood boiling.
"Worse," I told her, gritting my teeth. "It's been embargoed."
"W-what?"
"Don't worry," I reassured her, "I'm going to get to the bottom of this!"
A dropped to one knee in the sand, but not because I was proposing to the beach. It would have been easy for me to just write this off, blame it on a technicality, or blame it on myself for not knowing better, or even just blame it on chance. But I knew that I had to do the responsible thing. I had to blame it on God!
"Ring ring," I said, waiting for Kamiko to answer her CODEC, which she did almost instantly.
"Welcome, Hiro-chan, to this place wher-"
"Kamiko-chan!" I shouted, talking over her long-winded introduction. "Where is my gunpowder?!"
"Bwuh?!" She gasped, taken off-guard by my masculine abruptness. "G-gunpowder?"
I nodded audibly, crossing my free arm across my chest. I wasn't sure why Kamiko had stolen my gunpowder, but we were friends, so I'm sure I could bully her into giving it back.
"Hiro-kun, did you try making gunpowder?" I heard the sound of typing and the autotuned choir of heavenly hosts that she used for her computer's system sounds. She let out a cute, quiet gasp.
"Hiro-san! You can't do that! You have an infraction on your record now!"
An... infraction? My gut clenched. Inside, my brain was splitting itself in two. On the one hand, an infraction was a permanent stain on my otherwise sterling record, and having to settle for anything less than perfect was terrible. On the other hand, having a mark on my record really helped promote the bad-boy chuuni image that I was clearly cultivating (I had a skateboard).
"Why are you punishing me for this, anyways? It seems kind of unfair that you would give me all these random restrictions!"
Kamiko let out a quiet groan. "That is bitter. The gods and fate are cruel..." she sighed. "But it's not just you, Hiro-kun! Those restrictions apply to everybody."
I rolled my eyes. Obviously, they wouldn't have made special rules just to restrict my power, yet. I was still in the 'Legendary Hero' realm of cultivation, I hadn't made it to 'Nation Builder' or 'God Slayer' or 'Super-Dimensional Heaven-Piercing God Slayer'. It'd be a while before they made up shit just to try to prevent me from usurping all of reality with my power. Still, this wasn't really very comforting. Who else would that rule even apply to? I don't really care if the dirtworlders on this Badass Isekai LitRPG Gamelike world couldn't make gunpowder. They'd never come up with it! They didn't know what a gun was, and I doubted they knew what powders were either!

Still... I did have one trump card to play.
"Kamiko-chan~" I said sweetly, rubbing the back of my head with the hand not already on the back of my head. "Could you maybe pretty please remove that restriction from me?"
"C'mon... I'll be good," I lied. "I'd really owe you one if you helped me out..."
Kamiko squealed stressfully, like a dog toy under a hydraulic press. "Hiro-san... I... I can't..."
"I'll only make a little bit of gunpowder, as a treat. I promise it won't get out of ha-"
"N-no, Hiro-san." She said suddenly, her voice firm. "Y-you can't! None at all! I... I really wish I could let you make anything you wanted, but if I did, my mo... Yggdrisia would get really angry. Y-you don't want that."
"Hmph," I hmphed. "Let them get angry! I'll kick their ass!"
"P-please don't..." she said. "Hiro-kun is Hiro-kun, so I bet you could. You are one to teach the gods their limits, after all. B-but, um, you probably shouldn't try that."
I sighed. "You really can't make an exception, just for me?"
"Nnnnghh..." Kamiko moaned. "I... It's not like I don't want to or anything, Hiro-chan! But I... I'm not allowed. It's not allowed. I'd get in so much trouble, you don't even know!"
Huh? She'd get in trouble? How would a God get in trouble? And, now that I thought about it... hadn't I heard the word Yggdrisia before? Where had I heard that? Wasn't it...
!!!!
Suddenly, everything clicked into place. Yggdrisia... Kamiko getting in trouble... Mother Exposita's boring story... Flavos... it suddenly made sense! The dark secrets of the world were laid bare before my brilliant deduction.
Kamiko... wasn't the only God. There were more. I was glad that I was already kneeling, otherwise I probably would have stumbled and fallen from how hard that sudden revelation hit me.
"Why'd you want to go and make something like gunpowder anyways, Hiro-chan?" Kamiko asked. "You're way stronger than a gun!"
Stronger than a gun? That seemed a little doubtful, but I still couldn't help but rub my nose at such praise!
"W-well, I wanted to make [Fireworks]," I replied. "We're at the beach, so..."
"Oh!" Kamiko said, "Well, good news! You can actually buy [Fireworks] in the [Cash Shop]! Melodio wanted some for his stage shows, so mom added them in."
I shook my head. "I... I already spent a big chunk of my Gacha Coins earlier... I can't really afford to pay for [Fireworks] right now..."
I let out a sigh. "D-damn it... I guess... my beach episode will have to end on a sad note." I glanced sadly over to the rest of my harem. Bonbon and Wanda had cautiously crept back over to the table, while Ciel had moved closer, hovering a few feet away and vibrating slightly as she watched me. She was clutching a decorative beach towel, which had a design of some hot anime girl in a high school uniform. Huh. She kind of looked like Kamiko, with the same eye wheels, crown, hair color, and even the same iconic ribbon! But, it couldn't be her, because Kamiko still looked like a ten year old. I wasn't sure who this beauty was, but maybe Kamiko had an older sister or something? I'd have to ask about it later, maybe.
Ciel's eyes were sparkling as she watched me, which was kind of making me nervous. Still, I could sympathize with her! She was probably super excited about the [Fireworks]!
"Ufufufu..." Kamiko ufufufued. "If that's all, I can solve it easily, Hiro-chan! Just hold on a second while I..."
[YOUR DEVOTION HAS BEEN RECEIVED]
The [Divine Brat] Kamiko has blessed you with 150 Gacha Coins as reward for your piety.
Praise Yggdrisia! Praise Kamiko!
I arched an eyebrow. Devotion? Piety? I'd made ice cream, not pie! I wasn't sure what that was about, so I'd better ask immediately, before she forgot to explain.
"What was that all about?" I asked.
"Ignore the message," Kamiko replied. "I just used the built-in reward system. I gave you some free Gacha Coins, Hiro-kun! Buy some fireworks with it~!"
I gasped, my eyes going wide. F-free [Fireworks]?! Praise Kamiko!
"A-Arigato very much!" I shouted happily. "Kamiko-chan, you're the best!"
Kamiko let out a cute, giddy giggle.
"Hehe... yeah! I am, aren't I?! Praise me more!"
"You're smart! You're cute! You're the best!" I replied, pumping my fists as I started planning out the fireworks I'd get.
"Nnnnnnnnn~" She squealed.
"You're the cutest god! You're smart! You're cool! Kamiko-chan is-"
"Iiieeee~ Okay, okay, that's too much," she gasped, making all kinds of inarticulate anime girl noises.
"Okay, I've got to go!" I told her, "But thank you again! I can't wait to light these off with the rest of my harem!"
"O-of course <3," she gasped. "Anything you need, I'll be here t- wait, what?"
"Bye!" I said, closing the CODEC call as she started to shout something else. I didn't catch what she'd said, but it probably wasn't too important. I'd ask her about it next time. Right now, I had more important things to do!
I quickly sorted through the [Cash Shop], purchasing a nice assortment of fireworks! I bought a bunch of sparklers, a few fountains, a few firecrackers, and even a couple of those mortars that made the big cool explosions in the sky! This was going to be great!
"Alright!" I said, as the fireworks materialized in a pile in front of me. "Now we've got everything in place for the ending!"
I stared up at the sun, which was still in the sky for now. It looked like we still had some more time to kill before night! The real beach episode started now!
"Let's have some fun!" I shouted to my harem, jumping into the sky for a freeze frame pan out into a commercial break.

The stars twinkled gently above us as we returned from the ad break. We'd had a fulfilling day at the beach! We'd split some watermelons, built a big sandcastle, dug a hole, played around in the water. At one point, Wanda had stolen Bonbon's top, and we all had a good laugh, while I collapsed from blood loss via nosebleed. It had been everything I ever wanted from a beach episode!
And now, we were setting off fireworks! This was great! I lit the firecrackers and threw them down, quickly stepping away from them. They lit up with a series of loud cracks, causing Wanda to raise her hackles and bark at them. Ciel and Bonbon were crouched nearby with sparklers, holding a contest to see whose would last longer. I smiled and started setting up a fountain to set off next.
I reached over and Nina handed me another smoldering twig. I'd offered to use my magic to set the fireworks off, but for some reason, the rest of my harem didn't think that using [Blaze Ollie - Lvl 10] would be a good idea. I ordered a flip lighter from [Sahara Prime] so that I wouldn't have to worry about this in the future.
I lit the fountain and stepped back, sitting on the sand.
"Fireworks are the best!" Nina shouted. I nodded, as Wanda settled in next to me. She looked over at us curiously, then leaned over. I blushed a bit as something soft brushed against my shoulder.
"Master, wan," she whispered. "Isn't she an enemy?"
I raised an eyebrow, glancing over at Ciel and Bonbon.
"...which one?" I asked hesitantly. If one of them was an enemy, then...
Wanda pointed across my face, causing me to lean back and look in the direction she was pointing. At the end of her finger, several inches away, was that [Ninja] from earlier.
"W-what the?!" I shouted, leaping to my feet and turning to face her. H-her stealth was unbelievable. It was like she'd appeared from thin air!
"I thought you ran away!" I shouted, drawing my katana. She glanced at my sword without a hint of fear, simply crossing her arms and giving me a smug, but cute look.
"I came back when I heard [Fireworks]," she explained. "Anywhere there is fun, you can be sure I'll be close by. That's the duty of a [Ninja]!"
I wasn't sure about that, but I nodded anyways. She seemed pretty confident about it, so she probably knew what she was talking about.
"These [Fireworks]... they're too much for either of us to handle on our own," she continued. "What say ye to a truce, at least until tomorrow?"
She extended her hand to me, and I stared down at it, my heart starting to race. A... truce? Could I really shake her hand? She was a [Ninja], right? There might be any kind of poison, acid, needle, or bomb on her hand, and if I proceeded without caution, who knows what she might attack me with. That didn't matter that much, since I had [Absolute Invulnerability] after all, but more importantly, she was a girl! Could I really touch her h-hand?"
"Deal, wan!" Wanda said, stealing a march on me and shaking Nina's hand. I was part jealous and part relieved as I watched them. I guess it was... safe after all?
"Mmm, wan," Wanda noted, nodding. "You used [Dreaming Oil]. That's one of my favorite opiates, wan!"
I put my hands on my hips. She'd tried to drug me? That scamp!
"Ehe~" Nina smiled, sticking her tongue out and bopping herself gently on the head. I sighed. Even if she was cute, she was still an enemy. But... I guess we were on a truce right now! After all, it was a beach episode! I'd probably have to murder her with excessive force on another day, but today was a celebration!
I started setting up another firework, one of the mortars, when a thought tickled the back of my head. Huh... celebration? Was there something I was forgetting?
I lit it up when I heard footsteps coming from the beach behind me. I turned to see that one [King]. My left eye started to throb, but then I reminded myself that this was a different [King] from the one I had to kill. But, he looked pretty angry. Maybe I'd better kill him anyways?
I debated whether regicide was the easiest solution when he came to a stop, giving me an irritated glare.
"The preparations for the feast have been complete for a while, now!" He announced, gritting his teeth. "Did you have any intention of joining us for the celebration of your coming victory?"
Bonbon jumped to her feet, her face paling. Ciel also stood, looking away sheepishly. I frowned a bit. Why was the feast happening now? I'd been spending time at the beach, I hadn't decided to advance the main plot yet. I glanced wistfully at the last few fireworks we hadn't set off, as the mortar I'd just lit exploded in the air, bathing the scene in red light. That just made this guy look even more intimidating!
My stomach rumbled in either fear or hunger. Well...
I gave one last longing look at the fireworks before I swept them up in my [Dimension Box]. I... guess it was about time for dinner. We'd had a fun time at the beach, but... I guess all beach episodes have to end some time. I stared at the sights, the sparkling of the starlight on the water, an elf falling into that hole we'd dug, my harem members looking good in their swimsuits... Nina running away at full speed...
I'd made some good memories here... but I guess it was time to get back to work, and enjoy an extravagant feast held in my honor.
"Alright," I said. "Let's go!"
