Choi and Elara were out camping. It was one of his free days and they wanted to do something together. Elara was missing the forest a little so Choi took her outside the city to spend time there. Not necessarily hunting, just enjoying nature.
After putting the tent they would use to sleep up, they sat by the campfire and just enjoyed the ambience.
“You know, I kind of wish I could have a house somewhere like this.” Elara said.
“Any reason why you think you can’t?” Choi asked, confused.
“I would miss the city after a while. Just buying food is way easier than hunting it. Better too.”
“Can’t argue against that.”
“Still, I like having lots of trees around. Do you think Mia could make us a small forest inside the house in the future?”
“Given enough time I think she could do anything.” Choi said, clearly happy with what he said but showing a sign of sadness, one that Elara managed to see.
“What’s wrong?” She asked, very worried.
“I…Did you ever feel like you are not good enough?” He asked without looking at her.
“Hmm…Yeah, everyday.” She responded normally.
“I mean, do you feel jealous or envious of someone because they have things you don’t or can do things you can’t?”
“Probably, but it's not like I can just take stuff from people. What about you?”
“I…I am the weakest fighter of the house…” Was all he could say.
“Well, that is a given. You aren’t made for that.”

“See! Even you say I am weak.” He said, somewhat angrily.
“No shit about being weak. Mia already beat you to that.” Elara seriously said.
“But it’s the truth! Everyone says that I shouldn’t even try to compete with them because it’s a losing battle.”
“Why does it matter? You are stronger than most people.”
“Someone almost killed my sister! My father is not strong enough to deal with those people, my brother is not strong enough to deal with those people, not even Marry, who could be stronger than my dad could deal with those people! What if they come again? What if they come for you?” Choi said, full of emotion.
“You would do your best.” Elara said calmly.
“What if that isn’t enough?”
“Then we die. That’s how things are.”
“What? How would you be able to accept something like that so easily?”
“The weak die and the strong live, that is the basic rule of nature. I choose you to be my husband, unless I have something else to live for I will just follow you to wherever you go.”
“Elara, don’t say that…”
“And you should stop comparing yourself to other people. Especially people that are not like you. Your brother and father are two tigers. Marry gives the aura she is Bear and Mia is a Dragon. You, you are a hawk, a falcon.”
“What?”
“Choi, do you know why against everything I was told I decided to come with you?” Choi just shook his head negatively. “It took you a single month to learn to walk the forest better than I and I had years of experience, all because you wanted to find your sister and you were ready to do anything. I saw you brother and father but none of the two would be able to do much without you. You are their eyes in the sky and I know you can be mine too. If someone is coming for me, all you have to do is know ahead of time and fly back to me.” Elara said and then gave Choi a warm kiss.
“I…Thanks. I love you.” Choi said, returning the kiss.
“You should thank me too.”
“Why?”
“Because it was her that told me to explain stuff to you and not just hit you in the head and call you an idiot.”
“You were going to do that?”
“Yeah, you were being an idiot and physical punishment always seems to work, right?”
“I…”
“Not that it matters, once again she was right. Explaining stuff ‘logically’ is really easier for you, right?”
“I think?”
“Ok, I want a very fun night and when we get back I need leather gloves. My boss managed to make a deal with someone and we are getting new meat. I need something to protect my hands.”
“As you wish.” Choi said, hugging Elara from behind.
