Chapter 120 - Mia’s Presents.

Chapter 120 - Mia’s Presents.

After resting for a while, returning to the book club and finishing what she was doing, Mia went back home where she had something important to do. She had to actually put all her presents somewhere they should be as they should be.

Mia got a lot of stuff, way more than it was healthy for a girl her age to have, at least she thought so. Mia had an entirely new wardrobe, clothes that is: Dresses, lazy wear, fighting outfits, even some male clothes for emergencies. There was quite literally no space left inside her actual wardrobe and a lot of stuff had to be put inside one of the many magic rings she also got as a present. Something that Mia absolutely hated since they were all cheap so she couldn’t get much detail on what was inside them and she couldn’t just equip the stuff directly from the rings.

After clothes there were the accessories. Necklaces, rings, earrings, tiaras, armlets and even an anklet. All enchanted in some way or form, some even for combat. Mia didn’t have a jewelry case so her father had to make one.

Following that were the dolls. The one thing that Mia actually had an actual space ready to put stuff into. She had a doll house with dimensional magic used on it so she could store her dolls there without problem. She used it mostly to put the dolls that wouldn’t withstand being left out normally but now it was used as a storage unit.

The second worst type of gifts were the books. Instead of normal books, Mia was showered with books that clearly shouldn’t be just put on a pile or a stand. More than one had jewels and precious metals on their covers.

The worst ones were actually the stuff to put on her wall. weapons, scrolls, paints, a monster head and a magic array. Mia really didn’t know what to do with all that.

Of course saying the best or worse ones was just one way to classify things. Mia was angry that people didn’t take into account if Mia had space for everything but she was extremely happy with everything. She couldn’t say a single gift was something that she wouldn’t want and that warmed her heart a lot.

Now that Mia had to use her mana to fight, there was no better thing to do than just use her magic to allow her to actually store all her gifts properly and just be done with it. Mia was trying to abstain from using magic as she was almost fixing her cultivation and when she did use magic it took up to half a day for her to be able to continue working on that.

First thing she did was put stuff on the walls. Mia understood more clearly how permanent magic worked so she was able to create nails or other similar things so she could hang things on the wall without having to ask an adult to actually hammer stuff there. Telekinesis worked wonders with that.

She started with Cassandra’s gift, a sword. She put it just above her bed as it was the first place she always looked when she entered the room, it would also serve as an emergency weapon if absolutely necessary. Above the sword she put the strange array carved on a piece of wood. It was the gift of one of the mothers of Mia's’ club members and it absorbed ambient mana to clean an area around it, which was just bigger than her room. Following that Mia began to try and just put stuff on the walls. Among everything the second best decoration she had was a spear made entirely out of bones that Kaki gave. It was from a monster from the desert her family came from and could be useful if Mia ever finds her way there. It wasn’t normally strong but if you were in that specific desert, it would be pretty much indestructible. Something to do with either a god, monster or powerful cultivator. Nobody that knows tells anything and the rest either die or give up trying to find the truth of this mystery.

Mia then went to her wardrobe. Usually, when using dimensional magic, you made an entirely new space inside another that was bigger inside than outside. There was actually a mid-step that wasn’t really dimensional magic, more like something you had to be able to do to use dimensional magic. That is, a crude form of space magic. Space magic allowed one to pretty much screw with the world, making things bigger, smaller, heavier, etc… on a physical level and not just like an enchantment would. Space magic was also naturally permanent most of the time. Mia focused on her spell and just made her wardrobe way bigger inside than outside. She had to actually put her head inside it so the twisted space was entirely visible to her but that wasn’t really a problem, well, for her. Anybody who tries to take anything out of her wardrobe would become extremely confused as they will pop at completely random places inside every time they try. Mia can actually choose where she will appear because it was her spell. She wasn’t good enough with dimensional magic to actually bypass that flaw yet.

Once her spell was over she began to put all her new clothes where it was needed. She started with the dresses. There were both western and eastern ones. Just looking at them Mia knew that they weren’t long for her wardrobe. Her mother told her the moment she fixed her cultivation she would start to grow again and she would quickly lose any clothes that weren’t ready for that, like the dresses. They are too tightly fitting. She will still be able to use a lot of them, a lot of her friends had birthdays after her so she had a reason to dress pretty but she was seriously considering just putting some of them to go to the academy and change when necessary. Probably to the new clothes made for combat she had. Her usual pink uniform now had all the color variations she could want from the rainbow. She also got clothes that reminded her of monks, both Buddhist and xiaolin ones.

Lazy ware were everyday clothes most people used normally. The male clothing might also fall in that category depending on Mia’s mood. It was mostly a design and color difference but a very big one. Mia always thought that it was strange but there are patterns that could be seen as offensive if on clothes a woman is using. One example is a strange tiger pattern. Nobody told it straight to her but she understood that that specific pattern was usually used by people who were sexually active and wanted other people to know. A woman using it was basically admitting that she was a slut. Put that same pattern on a young boy and the message just transforms into wishful thinking of his parents, wanting him to be good enough to make children himself. Put it into a young girl and is basically telling she will have no worth as a wife later in life.

Mia then moved to her new jewelry. Most of the gifts she got from her schoolmates were jewelry. Katia gave her the anklet. It had an enchantment that would allow her to lose her balance most of the time. If someone pushed her she would still fall but if something happened to her head and her natural sense of balance got screwed she would manage to not fall because of that. It also helped with some poisons that might cause something like that. Luminus gave Mia a ring that created a psychic force field around her that protected her body from almost anything and could consume her own mana to recharge itself. Shishen gave a necklace that was made specifically for her that had a healing spell that could actually heal her if necessary. Klaws gave her a ring that could hold food perfectly. It was strangely the best magic ring that could store stuff Mia had. Moon gave a pair of small earrings that served as mana batteries. Mia already charged them but she never used earrings nor could she at the moment. She was fighting everyday and until she was able to safely store her stuff she couldn’t really walk around with it. There were other small trinkets but they mostly had enchantments to make them clean and durable. Mia just separated the battle stuff from the stuff that was just pretty in her new jewelry box.

Her doll collection was the last thing. Mia took a good hour to dress the dolls she got as best as she could. She was surprised by how realistic the doll Narissa gave her was, she was beautiful and Mia’s new favorite. She also came with a lot of clothes. The doll Mathias gave was also very nice but it just wasn’t on the same level. The same with the dolls that the King and the Queen gave, at least on the appearance side. Those two dolls were way easier to control with magic than any other doll she had. They were also stupidly sturdier. Mia was pretty sure she could kill someone with those dolls by using them as blunt weapons.

Mia also received two dolls that were objectively bad but they were special. Elara and Mei each made a handmade doll. Mei made a plushie doll that looked like Mia and Elara made a wolf doll out of wood. They weren’t beautiful, well made and not durable in any way but they made it themselves so Mia would take good care of them.

Looking at her dolls Mia got an urge to make a play with them. She had a whole new cast to play with now. Once her cultivation was fixed she was going to put a giant show with all her dolls. It was a waste to not do it.
