It has been a full month since Mia started studying in the academy and she was not impressed by the academic curriculum. Science wasn’t a thing, history is basically hoping that what is in some books is 100% true, Mia didn't need to learn any languages and math was a joke. She was almost teaching the class herself. She couldn't fathom how society advanced to the level she was experiencing when the average person couldn't use the multiplication table. Whoever decided that math should be like writing in this part of the world deserves to get shot, at least that was her opinion.
Due to the entire situation with the special class, the older students had to help the younger one catch up with the curriculum in some subjects. That made Mia become somewhat close with all the other students as they had to study together more often than not. There were no weekends so they had to get creative. They mostly used lunch time to study and occasionally after classes.
The good part about all the studying was that it mostly involved history and geography. The bad part was that it mostly involved history and geography. Kids were not made to teach other kids. If they weren't in a military academy, where knowing the geography of a place along with how they won or lost their battles - be it by military tactics or internal policy - was actually useful information, Mia would have just dropped the study sessions.
3 groups of friends formed in the class during this time. Mathias, Luminus, Kai and Moon. Katia, Cassandra and Klaws. And finally Mia, Shishen and Narissa. Not that everyone wasn't friendly with each other, but outside of the academy or academy related stuff, they didn't interact with each other much in private.
Mia went out with Shishen and Narissa twice so far. The girls loved Mia like people would love a puppy, somewhat. But they are truly open to be friends with Mia. She still had the urges to just be a kid and the two older girls were more than ok to follow her whims. They watched a play the last time they went out together. It was like watching a movie, more or less. Magic can really do a lot of stuff. The story was basic. A prince goes to save the princess but it was engaging.
They looked for clothes after that. Mia was treated like a doll and received some gifts. As it seems, both girls were loaded and didn't have anything to use that money on. Mia checked all their boxes and they couldn't hold themselves.
Inside the academy they treated Mia as an equal. Every time they talked with each other they were adult and open minded enough to think that Mia wasn’t just pulling stuff out of her head when she started to talk about difficult topics that they themselves couldn't really understand much if anything at all. Mostly stuff she did with the principal. They still treated her like a puppy inside the academy when they could. Mia couldn't help but wonder if that is how her life would have been everyday if she had an older sister.
As for her life in the academy itself? During classes that Mia had nothing to do she mostly tried to read the first book she got from the library. That thing was bigger on the inside, like a lot of things inside the academy. Any book whose original is bigger than 300 pages, becomes a book that, on the outside, looked like it had just 300 pages. The book Mia was reading had 3000 pages. It was actually a collection of 50 diaries, all from the same person. It was about his adventures and they were something else. Shame that as she read on,continuously, more and more useless stuff was recorded in the things. The last chapter had the author describing the amount of water drops in a cave among other things.
As for the information that Mia was looking for, it looked like it was true. Some sort of religion was beginning to spread around the time of the writing of these diaries and a person that was really powerful was teaching about using mana during that period. Sadly the place wasn't the objective of the man that the author was following so just some information was written in the book. As for what the man wanted, it was a robot. The author says called it a golem but by the description it's a robot. An android to be more precise. 'A metal golem that looks like a human and feeds on the electric mana of my boss' as the author described. That was another thing on the list of things Mia wanted in the future.
As for the location of said temple where the use of mana was being taught. It was somewhere inside a volcano on the north-eastern continent. As far as Mia found out during classes along with a little research of her own, there were 50 known volcanoes in that continent, all active in some form. There were also 15 possible dormant volcanoes that people weren't really sure if they are actually volcanoes or not. Mia will probably have to track down that temple some day so it was good that the possible locations were reduced somewhat.
Another thing that came along nicely the past month was Mia's cultivation. She was finally fully healed and could use all her power and cultivate. Also, she was almost reaching rank 2 of the Ki Condensation Stage, but she knew, though, that after that things would get a little harder, as all the progress she made on this stage was just energy left from her ordeals so far that she hadn't use and which was stored in her body somehow. One thing that Mia really liked was that if she used Liquid mana for her spells, they would become extremely powerful. Even if she didn't concentrate too much on it. With that she finally had an energy option that didn't leave her weaker than a baby once used.

Mia's trainers were also very happy with her recovery, because they could finally treat Mia like a soldier and make her train her body, soul and mind during the training classes. A few trainers tried to steer her away from the idea that she had to train just as a cultivator but Mia knew that there was no reason for her to train like a controller or emitter. Her Master told her as much. The only thing holding her back in those paths was the fact that there wasn't enough free mana for her to use. The principal only got his rank of 150 when he was tested somewhere where there were no people around and he could use his powers to the limit. If he tried inside the academy, quite a lot of students would become unable to use mana as the principal would have control of anything not inside their body.
Mia was also learning how to use a sword at a very good pace. Now that she could use her psychic powers again she was using them to make sure that she never got her movements wrong by creating barriers around her body and the path of the slashes. It also helped that for some reason that no one saw fit to explain, using psychic powers on your own body to make it move, increased the speed with which you would gain muscle memory.
A trainer tried to do something with Onyx but he gave up. The wolf could perfectly coordinate with Mia but that was about it. He refused to listen to any of them. Strangely enough he would listen to Mia's family if Mia wasn't present or awake.
Manners class was pretty much worthless. The teacher was a witch that fed on the frustration of her students but it wasn't anything that Mia couldn't deal with as her memory was getting better by the day ever since she recovered. If she really put her mind to it, she could remember a lot more stuff now.
For the stuff that happened after classes ended, two weeks ago Mia defended the book club, for the first time, against the fighting club. The competition between the clubs were settled with spars between members but each club could get help depending on how the club worked. The book club could get help from any student in the academy who had read 5 or more books from the library, not related to classes they had. Something that happened often enough, but not with people willing to fight for the club.
In the spar, Mia had to fight 50 members of the club at once. She easily won and to her surprise Moon was among the people she defeated. Good thing she took things seriously and just finished the fight as soon as she could by drowning everyone inside a giant dome of water. Moon had been slowly reverting back to being a dick but after that fight he began to be good again. Now he was just fighting in the club and not picking fights with everyone.
After the fight Cassandra tried to buy Mia from her parents and was laughed off their house. Or at least that was what Mia was told.
With her win, the club got a much needed upgrade. It included got a club room - not that they were going to use it - and the option to have a professor or staff member as a supervisor. With those, the members could do stuff outside the academy using the academy name and the professor or staff name if they allowed. In the club's case, they went around a few bookstores around town and tried to trade some books from the academy. They managed to trade a few, not that the academy wouldn't have those books anymore as everything inside the library was a copy, but nothing of note was traded from there. Just some fiction. Something that you didn't find much inside that library as most people didn't care for those there.
As for the training with her master, the principal, that was coming along nicely too. Little by little she was getting the hang of how to use dimensional magic without using traditional magic like her master. Using traditional magic she could create a pocket space the size of her head using all her mana. Using her own method she could do the same with just 1% of her mana. Her master was now in the process of perfecting his spells as he trained Mia. They occasionally did some experiments with rare materials to see their mana structure and to see if Mia could recreate those materials with her magic. Some things went better than others.
Mia could fully create any material related to a natural element that was just one thing down to the speck level, the smallest size a node of mana could be. She could also make those materials stay fully materialized into the world and not return to being mana after a while by charging it with a 3 to 5 times more mana than it was used for their materialization. So far, as far as useful stuff went, Mia only created some coal, pure iron, copper and a type of wood that was really more mana than wood.
Being able to create all that stuff was good and all but Mia had no use for them yet. She coulnd't even sell magic-created materials since there was a non-zero chance that she didn't perfectly create the item and there is the fact that those materials still count as spells so they can be dispelled by a mage with enough skills. Fixing this was the next step in Mia's training once she mastered dimensional magic somewhat.
As Mia prepared herself for another somewhat boring day, Mirai appeared in the classroom with a serious expression. She had something important to say.
