Mia was sound asleep after the episode in the restaurant. Her family, minus her brothers and their women, were now sitting in the living room, talking with her master and his wife.
“I think we underestimate how hungry Mia is.” Maximillian said.
“I had some experience with it myself but she is in a way worse state than me.” Marry said.
“Do you think your little girl is already turning?” Hita, the wife of Maximillian, asked.
“Sincerely, I have no idea.”
“Good thing the pills will be ready tomorrow.” Maximilian added.
“Thank you for that. I don’t think I would be able to live with the alternative.” Huang said.
“I just did what I needed to. The sooner we fix this hurdle, the sooner she can train again.”
“Marry, are you sure you will be able to train Mia without unsealing your power?” Lin asked. She was a little apprehensive.
“Not like I have much of a choice. Who knows what will happen if I let things loose now.”
“Mia will get a new sibling.” Huang said, half-joking. His two wives gave him a slap on the arms.
“Well, you still have to do your training before she can resume mine, so, anything I should keep in mind when that happens?” Maximillian asked.
“Best case scenario, continue as normal. Worst case scenario, at least for now, you will need to be extremely cold towards her in anything you two do.”
“I am going to sprout wings and fly before that happens. I saw both of them ‘training’ once, they are like two kids who stole candy.” Hita said.
“We are just very passionate about what we do, my love.” Maximillian added.
“See, he doesn’t even deny it.” Hita says with a smile on her face while hugging her husband.
“The real problem will be when she gets a little older…” Marry said. Huang’s face frowned before she could even finish saying anything.
“We just need to lock her in a room if things get bad.” Lin said.
“That is almost impossible now, much less in a few years.” Maximillian said.
“There is a whole industry of people who deal with those things. I am pretty sure we can find someone who is acceptable.” Hita said nonchalantly.
“Miss Hita. Anyone normal will probably die.” Marry explained.
“...Your husband must be an avatar of vigor then.” Hita said and then gave a silent laugh.

“She was intense when I found her, but not deadly…” Huang said.
“Mia will be affected by the death mana dozens if not a hundred times more than me at my peak. Be it for the good parts or the bad parts. I wish I could just clean her up from all that.” Marry said. Her face showed that there was something eating at her.
“What is wrong?” Huang asked.
“I don’t know how to say to Mia that she can’t be healed normally anymore…”
“Just tell her!” Hita said.
“That would not be a good idea. Mia, at least physically, is just a below average 10 year old girl. Without her cultivation, her mind and body are way worse than you would expect. She is very smart but her brain can’t keep up with what she was before without some help. If we tell her that if she so much as scrapes her knee she will either have to receive healing from Kat or kill someone, there is no way to imagine how much it will change her. She might become a recluse in fear of dying, not care about her life or worse things.” Maximillian explained.
“Well, I didn’t know something like that could happen. Anyway, my brother is the best alchemist in the world so you can be sure if anything happens he will be able to make something to help.”
“Didn’t know you had them here.” Marry said, really surprised.
“Some idiot outlawed them for some reason.” Hita said.
“It was the King who did it, my love.” Maximillian said.
“An idiot, like I said.”
“The first batch of pills should arrive in the morning. For these ones in particular, make sure Mia eats all of them.”
“We will be waiting.” Huang said. Maximillian and Hita soon left the house.
Guards Barracks
“Choi, Kai, why ten of my guards, including your father, left with your sister and step-mother and only nine of them came back, two knocked out?” The commander of the barracks asked the two, very seriously.
“We don’t know, sir. We were working.” Kai answered for both of them.
“Boys, is there anything I need to know?” The commander asked with suspicion.
“About what exactly?” Choi asked.
“Your sister.”
“Besides what every guard in the city was informed about?” Kai asked. Every single official guard was informed that under no circumstances was Mia to ever be bothered by anything until stated otherwise.
“Yes, I am needing more clarification than what was officially given to us.”
“Marry said something about Mia being a step away from killing anyone who said shit a few days ago but that is about as much as I can tell.” Kai said.
“She is very emotional right now and any perceived threat against someone she likes might make her go crazy.” Choi said, clearly telling something someone else told him.
“Anything?” The commander asked.
“We are not telling many jokes in the house.” Kai and Choi said almost in unison.
“Well…Ok. Sorry for taking your time but can you do me a favor? Can you go check on the owner of the restaurant and get a statement from him? I need to do something important.”
“What?” Choi asked.
“Beat the truth out of a few of my subordinates.” he said coldly and with a smile. Kai and Choi soon left the barracks.
Later, a group of 9 guards were punished by slapping each other until only one was left standing. With the statement of the owner of the restaurant, the whole picture of what happened earlier in the day came to light. The guards challenged Mia to an eating competition and when they saw they were going to lose, they antagonized her by saying stupid stuff about her and her dad. More than one thing was probably heard the wrong way, or the right way, the commander was starting to doubt the intelligence of the guards, and Mia went crazy, actually fighting the guards for a few moments before her dad managed to be a shield for the guards and point her in the direction of the food again.
The secret rules of the guards earned another rule on that day. ‘Mia is like the Queen. You don’t joke with the Queen unless you are The King.’
