Aiko, the first princess of Azuria, stood in an examination room with Jun, the leader of the Healers guild and Frank, the alchemist. There was also a noble man in a table between them but the man was knocked out.
“I can feel that there is something wrong but my spell can’t reach it.” Aiko said to the two men as she stopped her spell on the unconscious man.
“If we didn’t know what to look for we wouldn’t even be able to sense it. What the fuck did you use to make the pill?” Jun asked Frank.
“Snake poison, mushrooms, rotten fruit, malice, greed, Celta grass…” Frank began to list a whole list of things.
“How do you put malice, greed on something?” Aiko asked, confused.
“There are quite a lot of rituals that allow one to solidify the immaterial.” Frank explained.
“How many?”
“That I can use? One. That I know? At least a hundred.”
“You say a ritual. How bad are we talking about?” Jun asked.
“Just a complicated spell really. A tribe on the outskirts of the continent barely knew how to write or read stuff so they had a lot of physical components to their spells, hence the ritual part. I can actually do it without any materials, it's just boring.” Frank explained.
“Well, how can we heal this man for starters? That was my strongest healing spell and it did nothing.” Aiko said.
“Likewise.” Jun added.
“Hmm… I think you should treat it like it was a psychic poison?” Frank said, not really sure if he was right.
“What is that?” Aiko asked.
“Something that you are better off not knowing the details of. So, Frank, are we talking the basic kind or the fucked up one?”
“Basic. The pills should work on anyone.”
“Really wish it wasn’t. Princess, we might need a few prisoners.” Jun said.
“Why that?” She asked.
“Healing it will be way harder than just moving it somewhere else, or in this case, someone else.”
“I… I will see what I can do. Give me a few minutes.” The princess said before leaving the room.
Frank and Jun stood in silence for a few minutes before Jun started to talk.
“So, Frank. What are you cooking? What should I prepare for?”
“What are you talking about?”

“Frank, I am not stupid. You are going to do something and it will explode in the faces of a lot of people.”
“I am not going to do anything.”
“Pushing someone to do something also counts. So, what did you plan? I have no plans on stopping you, mind you, I don’t have the time or manpower for it, I just want to be prepared in case I need to.”
“I am not going to do anything.” He was definitely going to do something.
“Let’s hope so, let’s hope…”
Soon after Aiko returned to the room accompanied by a catgirl and a prisoner completely tied in chains.
“We found someone who people won’t miss.” Aiko said as she pointed to the man that both Jun and Frank could see was under the effect of some powerful drugs.
“Hey, I know you. You are Mia’s friend. Does she know what you do?” Frank said nonchalantly.
“Yes, she is my friend. No, she doesn’t know and she won’t know, is that understood?” Shishen said really seriously, sending shivers down everyone’s spine.
“The secret life of the little cat. I bet she would love to hear…” Frank tried to say but Shishen jumped him, clawing his face with ease, leaving 4 claw marks that took him by surprise.
“I can and I will hurt you if you hurt her. Also, my master seems to like to collect heads. How would you feel about being kept alive as just a head?” Shishen said ominously.
“No thanks, I will abstain from that.”
“Then we have a deal. The drugs will stay in his system for about 2 days. If you need him alive more than that he will be your problem. I will take my leave.” Shishen said as she gave the chain to Aiko and then left.
“Angry cat, that one.” Frank said.
“Leave the girl alone, alchemist. I need to see how this will work.” Aiko said.
“My turn then. Just put him near the noble.” Jun said.
After the prisoner and the noble were side by side, Jun began to weave a different spell and charged it with psychic powered mana, mana coming only from his mind and not his general pool of the resource. The knocked out noble began to scream and after a minute some sort of specter went from the noble’s body to the prisoner’s one.
“Done. I can feel it on the prisoner too.”
“So, what will happen to him?” Aiko asked Frank.
“For a few days they won’t have an ounce of greed in him. After that he will go back to what should have been his natural state.” Frank explained.
“Any chance that we can make it permanent?”
“Girl, that is brainwashing. I was under the belief that we are here to stop that, not commit it.” Frank said.
“...You are right. It’s the dose that makes the poison, right?”
“Yeah…. Frank, can’t you just make an opposite pill or something so we can just heal everyone without me having to do this?” Jun asked.
“The kingdom doesn’t have enough money to buy what will be necessary.” Frank explains.
“We have quite a lot of money ready for emergency use.” Aiko says.
“Can guarantee that it won’t be enough. You two understand that the only reason these people are still affected by the pill is that they are consuming small doses of it over long periods of time, right?”
“Shouldn’t you build endurance to poison over time?” Aiko asked.
“Psychic poison works the opposite way.” Jun explained.
“And it only reached that point because they expertly diluted the pill in water. In pill form the effects would be temporary but they transformed the water into a poison elixir that will slowly build poison inside you instead of strengthening your body.” Frank said.
“Well, we have a lot of people that were going to the gallows anyway. The worst part will just be rounding the nobles.”
“Good luck with that.” Frank said as he began to leave the room since there was nothing else he could do.
“Remember that you still need to make the purifier liquid.” Aiko said with a very serious tone to Frank.
“Don’t worry princess. Anything that will make me a free man faster will be done.”
