It was just a little after noon. Mirai and the principal were eating lunch, something they didn’t really do due to their level of power. The situation in the academy was stressing them a little and eating some food helped them relax a little.
As they were enjoying their food, a knock was heard on the door.
“Come in.” The principal said. Soon the door opened and Moon got in.
“Good day principal, professor Mirai.” Moon said before being guided to one of the sofas.
“Have you eaten lunch already?” Mirai asked, offering some food to the boy.
“Thank you but I will eat after this.” Moon said politely.
“So, what brings you here?” The principal asked neutrality as he continued to eat.
“I came to give my report.”
“Then go ahead. I can do two things at the same time.”
“From the day we got there until we went to find Mia I can’t say anything relevant happened. The bandits we had to take care of were weak. We did encounter some minor problems and maybe became a little insubordinate but I can say that fighting against people here in the academy would be more dangerous than fighting those bandits. Sadly I can’t really give you more details as they are incredibly hazy in my mind and I also believe there are a lot of other people that can give way more precise reports than I can at the moment.”
“Why? And after that?” Mirai asked.
“Because it seems so insignificant. Can you remember every pebble you saw last time you went for a walk? As for what happened after that, you know. We were played with, beaten up and then saved by that crazy girl.” Moon said strangely calmly.
“You talk like you expected that.” The principal noted.
“Of course I expected that! She stayed 6 days inside an underwater dungeon, alone. She can fight almost everyone native to the academy. This includes professors and staff. Every time someone has to fight her, she pulls something new and more absurd than before. I had no doubts that she could take care of the situation herself.” he said a little more passionately but still calmly.
“I heard that it was you that first brought up the idea of giving Mia to the enemy. Is that true?” The principal coldly asked.
“Yes… We were in the way. We needed to leave and not be a burden on her. And even if she was unconscious, she would do something. Do you know that she can just sense when someone is trying to do something to her? Anything?”
“Yes, I observed that she has an incredible perception of her surroundings, most of the time.” The principal said.

“If we weren’t there, she would get so hurt and would probably have finished things faster and none of us would have been as beaten up as we were.”
“You realize that her pet would still have tried to defend her, right?”
“He can be revived, we can’t. It’s stupid to throw our lives away.”
“Were you afraid?” Mirai asked.
“Of course I was! People as stronger if not stronger than our professors suddenly attacked us and we can’t even stop being a liability on the battlefield. We had 4 non-fighter with us that had to fight against people that I wouldn’t even dare to consider to challenge. And that crazy girl kept saying that it was all her fault and that she would protect us. She should have just left us and gone alone, they wanted her, not us.” Moon said somewhat angrily.
“Is that what you think you felt during the time or what you know you felt during the time? Because I fear that whatever intention you might have had, they might have been lost when you talked.” The principal said
“I…I know that I can be dumb sometimes, and angry, and a little impulsive. I am trying to fix that. I don’t clearly remember what I said, so it might have gone out wrong as you say sir…”
“...It’s good that you believe in at least one of your colleagues so much but you have to remember that they are people just like you and me, not the power you think they have. Also, Mia is not as strong as you believe. Did you know that out of all ten of you, she has the lowest amount of mana?”
“Wait, what? How?” Moon asked, clearly very confused.
“She is extremely, to the extreme, efficient with her mana. I learned quite a lot from her in that area. I am thinking of having a lesson just for that once I finish compiling everything.”
“She is a monster…”
“Please do not call her that. It would really hurt her. As you are probably finding out, words can hurt as much as a fist.”
“Huh, well… yeah. Sorry.”
“So, what do you plan to do now?”
“Don’t know. But I should probably try to explain myself before someone tries to kill me in my sleep, right?”
“Anything else comes to mind?”
“...No.” Moon said after thinking for a few seconds.
“Then you are dismissed. Have a good day.”
“Thank you.” Moon said before leaving. A few minutes later Mirai turned to the principal.
“He seems alright. Better than the others so far.”
“And yet he has a very heavy burden on his shoulders.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well, I received a very angry letter from a certain royal family saying that a possible crown prince might be removed from the academy if we don’t fix the problem with our security.”
“What? I knew he was royalty but not that type of royalty.”
“Well, until he got here he didn’t really have any chance of being considered. His situation came as a surprise to me too.”
“So you are saying that everything he said to us is just a facade?”
“No, but he can’t show his feelings anymore. At least not in any way that might hurt his position.”
“But does he really need to do that?”
“If he wants to at least have a chance of being the king of his home country someday, he will need to. If anyone finds anything that might hurt him, they will use it. Cambina is a very cutthroat kingdom.”
“...” Mirai could only stay in silence as she couldn’t really think of any alternatives on how her student could survive his new situation.
