“We need some explanations Mia.” Narissa asked very seriously.
“I have no idea what is happening either.” Mia said sincerely.
Everyone was near a big tree, resting. Shishen healed any physical injuries they sustained and now everyone was recharging their mana as best as they could. Luckily their gamble paid off so they didn’t use much mana relatively speaking. The worst one was Mia but she also was the best at recovering it.
“But you know something. We deserve to know.” Shishen said, somewhat angrily.
“I can’t….” Mia said. She couldn’t tell anything about her being reincarnated or the things Gina told her.
“Mia! This is serious. Those people are trying to kill us. It’s not the time to keep secrets!” Mathias shouted.
“I might know who those people are or where they came from but it wouldn’t help us! I have no idea why they are coming after me. I don’t have whatever they are looking for!” Mia shouted back.
“What makes you so sure you don’t have it?” Moon asked.
“If I had anything those types of people actually want, I could deal with them myself but I can’t.” Anything that would take 6 people of the realm of power Gina alluded to would be indeed powerful and Mia had 90% certainty that if she had anything that powerful, she could use it to at least get her out of this mess.
“We still need to know who those people are!” Narissa said somewhat angrily to Mia.
“They...They...They…! AHHHH!” Mia tried to say something but she began to almost cry as if she was caught doing something bad that she didn’t really know was bad and was being admonished for it. In her head she shouted to stop that! She knew deep down that she needed to stay calm. Now is not the time to let her emotions run.
Mia was also afraid that telling normal people about what she knew would make punishment come down from the heavens or something. Just thinking what could happen was enough to make her want to cry in fear.
“Mia? MIA!? Are you alright?” Shishen and Narissa asked with worry in their voices as they saw that Mia was beginning to tear up.
“They… They are really powerful. Like you can’t imagine. And what we saw and experienced was not who they really are.” Mia steeled herself and told something. She hoped that nothing would happen if she didn’t directly tell what those people were.

“What do you mean?” Everyone asked in some way or another.
“Those bodies, they are puppets. Shells that those people can use to go around without drawing attention. They can’t use all their power, that’s why we managed to deal with that big man.” Mia said as clearly and fast as she could. Every word made her feel like someone was putting some weights on her. She was nervous and afraid of what could happen. The people at the top of the world did their very best to not be known by the masses. Mia really didn’t want those people to come after the people she cared about until she could defend them.
“So, even if we deal with them here, they might just come back?” Kaki asked.
“Yes, but not as fast as you are imagining. Probably years or decades depending on our luck.”
“Mia...Shit! Stop asking questions!” Shishen suddenly went wide-eyed and grabbed Mia as she made everyone stop talking. “Mia! It’s ok. You don’t need to talk anymore. We have enough information already.”
“Shouldn’t she tell everything she can?” Cassandra asked.
“Shut up! Can’t you see that she is almost having a panic attack? Mia, don’t worry, you don’t need to be afraid of anything.” Shishen said as she tried to calm Mia down.
“I am not afraid. I am alright. I am calm.” Mia said, lying to herself and everyone around her, to no effect. Shishen was now somewhat hugging her and that show of affection made her emotions hard to hold back.
“Mia. What are you so afraid of? I can guarantee that we can deal with this together.” Narissa tried to help in her own way.
Mia on the other end was trying her best not to think about every bad thing that could happen to her friends but every show of affection she received made it harder for her to think straight as her emotion got the better of as she didn’t want to see what happened to her family repeat ever again with anyone.
“See, even Onyx is worried about you.” Shishen said as Onyx put one of his paws on top of Mia’s head like he was petting her.
Mia was almost at her breaking point. She didn’t have time to process all her emotions yet and things were piling up. The fact that she almost lost herself in being a kid, the fact that she almost used a spell that would kill her for no reason she could perceive, the fact that stupidly strong people were after her, the fact that said people were now hunting her friends and the fact that more of those people might just show up to deal with them because she told them something that they shouldn’t hear. The dam that Mia was using to hold her emotions back so she could deal with all of this was beginning to crack.
“I’m afraid of all of you dying…” Mia said as tears began to pour from her eyes. She was holding herself as much as she could because she knew that if she didn’t hold back, she would die.
The rest of the class went silent. Mia was clearly afraid of something now that it was pointed out. Enough for her to want to cry about it. Everyone but especially the older ones there got hit hard by what she said. She wasn’t afraid of anything happening to her but to them. It was a sad situation to be in. Looking at Mia the way she was now almost made them forget that she was indeed stronger than all of them together in almost every way.
“Mia...We..” Mathias tried to say something but was interrupted.
“Now, what a touching scene. Don’t worry, all of you will be like her when I finish.” The woman who identified herself as Karin said as she made herself known.
Everyone had to snap out of their daze. An enemy had appeared, one more than willing to kill them.
