Chapter 35 - Formal Training

Chapter 35 - Formal Training

As it was specified before, the first one of those would be a manners class. The special class was guided towards a smaller building that looked suspiciously like a mansion where they were greeted by butlers and maids. As far as Mia knew, this was what a noble house would be, at least western one.

Once inside their professor showed herself. An old lady of western descent. She was old, really old, at least appearance wise. She was around 155 cm tall, had dark brown eyes, white hair in a small pony tail and was wearing a really extravagant red western gala dress. She introduced herself as Extradela.

The woman radiated energy and didn't really care about the special class. She made everyone sit, gave them a booklet and began to explain that their first few lessons would be about what not to do with important people of certain groups and races. The booklet had everything they needed and she would make sure they never forgot it.

Since this first class was just hearing what the professor was saying and memorizing it with the help of the booklet was enough, nobody really had a real hard time. Klaws was still new to the whole education thing so he was visibly sweating a little.

Their next class was the bodybuilding one. Gyms weren't something that exist in this world so they were guided to a different training area of the academy, a smaller and more out of the way one.

The professor of that class introduced himself as Dimitri. Mia asked if he was the same one that she almost killed a few years ago but he said he wasn't. It was possible to change one's appearance once you got far enough in your pursuit of power so Mia's question was not really all that strange.

This man was around 40 years old, appearance wise. He wasn't tall and probably not human either. He had a height of 170 cm tall, a really long blond hair that covered part of his upper body like a lion mane. He was very muscular, but in a compact way. He didn't go for size, he went for efficiency.

He also had a few assistants but they were all from the army so they were covered head to toe in spells that didn't let people identify them. The reason for this is that they are going to train the class really seriously, going as far as to teach some minor military secret training techniques and since not everyone was from the kingdom, they had to make sure they couldn't be identified so other people would go after them.

Everyone got one person to help them so nobody really paid attention to the others during the class. Mia got a very petite woman who helped Mia make a training schedule. Mia would focus on her flexibility for the foreseeable future. Mia was already very flexible, she could do the stuff circus contortionists would do in her old world really easily but as it seems, if she didn't continue to maintain her flexibility as she grew, due to the fact that she got past the first stage of true cultivation at such an early age, her body would try to make itself ready to have as much power as it could. The only other way for this to not occur was for Mia to gain complete control of her body and subconscious thoughts. Something that wasn't going to happen for a good while if ever for the second part.

Mia asked about her diet and she was told that, for the most part, she could eat anything that wasn't poisonous and nothing would really change. Her body wasn't going to sustain itself like normal for too long, once again because she advanced on her cultivation at such an early age. Mia was being mutated by mana to feed on mana or convert what she eats to mana. The King of Azuria also advanced at an early age, not as early as Mia but early, and in a matter of a year he didn't really need to eat or drink water as his body would use mana instead. Depending on how fast Mia advances in her cultivation before her puberty hits, the more extreme, in a good way, her mutation would be.

After some stretches, running and muscle building exercises that were going to be done daily starting that day, the class was over. Mirai gave them a magic shower, cleaning everyone like some buildings do when people exit them, and waited along with the class for the next professor to show up.

About a minute later a group of people showed up. They were also from the army and informed that for all intents and purposes, Mirai was the actual fighting teacher and they would just help.

There were more than 30 people there, all of them with the same illusions as the ones from the last class and for the same reason.

The class was separated into 3 groups. People who had to learn the minimum so they didn't die, people who had formal teaching in some form of fighting and them Mia and Klaws.

In the first group were Katia, Cassandra, Narissa and Shishen. Narissa and Shishen knew offensive spells and had received some training in weapons and hand-to-hand training but they were bad so they went into that group. Basically, they would be taught how to not die in case they find themselves in a fight.

Mathias, Moon, Kaki and Luminus were the second group. They all received military training from an early age so their group would be focused on honing their skill, be it magical, psychic or physical. Mathias and Moon were revealed to be true cultivators like Mia, but still in the first stages. Kaki was a pure physical cultivator and Luminus seemed to be an emitter, controller and mental cultivator of some sort. He wasn't physically weak but he didn't really have anything that helped him in that way too much.

As for Mia and Klaws, it took less than a moment for them to understand that whoever the people helping them were, they were killers thought and thought.

Klaws could only cultivate physically but he informed Mia that he was told that he wasn't barred from continuing after he reached rank 10. But with that he couldn't use anything else. He couldn't cultivate in other paths, he also couldn't use most known spells. Even Mia's way of using magic wouldn't work as he couldn't really move his mana outside his body.

Their trainers were there to mostly let them fight while going all out without the risk of them killing anyone. They would give advice, help them learn some actual form of martial arts, how to use weapons, how to train those things and whatnot.

Mia couldn't use her psychic powers or augment her strength with her cultivation for long periods of time until she fully healed so those two avenues were closed for the day. Mia also couldn't be trained on how to fight using magic as her magic was way too different from everyone else and normal military doctrine wouldn't apply to her. They were looking for someone to help her with Onyx too but it would take a while so the wolf was on the sidelines for now.

Mia asked if someone could teach her how to fight with a sword, if possible a great sword. Mia always liked the idea of having a really big sword and fighting with it.

The trainers said that on one hand it was a good idea for Mia to start early but on the other hand, Mia would have to change sword really often until she stopped growing and that could hinder her a lot since a good part of swordsmanship was learning how to know and use the sword in it's range of effectiveness. If Mia chose to use a greatsword, as she grew, her sword would grow exponentially with her making the range of the sword increase way more than what the range of a normal sword would.

Mia still chooses to go with it. The concept of buster swords weren't a thing as far as she was aware so until she could be sure that those things were viable, she would stick with the normal greatswords.

Mia was given a wooden O Katana and a Nodachi to see which one she was more comfortable with. She chose the O Katana. As for what she had to do, she had to perform slashes and that would be it for a good while until her body got the muscle memory from the exercise. She was to slash the air in all 8 directions(Up,down, left, right and the diagonals) in order, without cultivation for as long as she could. Normally this would be a bad idea but if Mia was to be formally trained by anyone, she had to know and be able to do the basics at least. And if anything went wrong, they had a lot of people to help fix the situation. If Mia could perform those 8 slashes to perfection it would be enough according to the trainers.

Once again, everyone had their own trainers so not much interaction between the students happened until the class ended. Mirai gave another magic shower to everyone and dismissed the class as the day came to an end. Mia was also informed that the cafeteria would open again and that they should go grab something. This time only Shishen and Narissa accompanied her, along with Onyx.
