Thimon Fliegenda opened his eyes and was greeted by a figure made out of numbers.
"Hello there... who are you?"
He asked, the humanoid silhouette answering with a chuckle.
"I am the Avatar of the system, and the one who brought you here... you know me as True G0d, the divinity who you are the champion of."
It took Thimon his every breath not to hit a god right into the face.
"Why the fuck did you take me here, what is wrong with this world, and why did you not introduce yourself when I first arrived?"
Thimon asked like a gun, his questions coming out as fast as he could possibly ask them.
When Thimon finally went quiet, the god sighed and began to answer.
"You would have tried punching me, and died immediately if I met with you the moment you went here. Our delayed conversation exists mainly because I think you should know that earth is pretty screwed right now, and you would not have made it much longer over there.
And, as the god of Numbers and Tricks, I thought you where a perfect candidate, especially as we recently discovered your existence as a Magus.
I was a Magus too, before they made me a god and tasked me with managing the system, and I think you would make a perfect god once you win the champion wars, of which I have no doubt. Imagine the boundless fame and eternal glory you could get, and all the bugs you could find. You can become the strongest by only relying on your own skills, something many gods are incapable of doing... so, what do you say?"
As True G0d rose from his throne to hold this speech, he summoned a holographic display of the entire world.
"This could all be yours, anything on this planet could be your domain, and all you'll need to do is to earn a following and kill a god to steal his divine spark, can't be that bad, right?"
At this, Thimon screamed. He hated this moment, and the guy he thought of as a friend for so long seemed to absolutely misunderstand him.
"TG, I fucking died because of you, and I will probably die many more times. I have told you how much I fear darkness, and when the life left me, everything was dark. I could have screamed, if I had any lungs to scream. I had to tear myself apart for my death not to be useless, and if this goes as I think it does, I'll have to do that much more often."
The Administrator's avatar extended his hands to continue his grand speech, but was disrupted by Thimon throwing something at him, a virtual stone that smashed against the gods chest and dropped to the ground right after.
The creature was shocked at first, but summoned a chair for Thimon to sit on and changed his throne into a bar stool.
"Just let me vent a little, TG. Maybe I will listen to you after, but right now I have to cope with being torn to shreds, an Elf killing my family and the fact that the urge to hit anything that is bigger than me that came with becoming Fliegenda. You could have given me a tutorial. My next character won't die as easily as Fliegenda did, and I should probably make something that might influence my emotions to the Positive. Tell me man, what do I normally do to calm down when I died in a particular shitty game?"
He finally let True G0d speak, the god smiling softly as he took a more human form.
"It's simple, you play a game that you know and try to find a fun exploit, or you exploit the shit out of the game that you have just died in.
Oh, and the people call me Lord Matt, by the way, just so you know in case it becomes relevant, and a day that you do not see any of my blue boxes, you should always be concerned. And thank you for listening, I hope to not see you again too soon."
He smiled, and then dissipated into numbers, leaving behind only the character creation menu.
"I guess I'll get to work on this, then. Maybe I should start with something better at tanking hits, something like a paladin build? No... something more on the monk side feels right, I still have to make the best of my magus skill... nah, I'll just be a berserker giant kind of creature, no way for them to kill me if I am beefy as hell... hell sounds great, but not the commonly known ones... there was a frozen hell somewhere, like a big Ice mountain... yeah, that sounds great. I'll make a giant that is hard to hit and has a thick skin, probably the handicaps overweight, fat and thick bones, as well as large to make sure I get the maximum beef for that guy...
System, you know what we have to do.
