1.4. Hunting session- Training montage.

Hunting is often depicted as an action laden task, but when you are only moderately hungry and follow the footprints of a creature that seems big enough to be eaten, it can be very relaxing and clear your mind.

Fliegenda kept Tag stomp active at all times, feeling it lock onto different targets, waiting for him to complete the skill and move him away from whatever would dare come close to him.

He kept himself grounded aswell, noticing for the first time how the ground mana increased his weight.

For the last few days, he had tried to understand the effect of grounding, as he had relied on it to learn the dash skill.

Now though, knowledge of what the skill did came intuitively, as if foreign knowledge was used to fill in the gaps of his own mind, and guide his thoughts to the right conclusion.

Grounding infused his body with ground mana, basically increasing his weight when he used it.

Immediately, he concentrated all his intuition and willpower into the skill, making him freeze up as a deeper understanding of the skill rushed his mind, gaps filled wherever they occured.

"So, kind of get how grounding works... then, what does dash do?"

And like before, he focussed his intuition on it, immediately understanding more about it.

"So... it just pushes the air in front of me away, and increases the airpressure on me, basically allowing for a free fall in every direction... explains the speed boost. And tag stomp kind of... strengthens the gravitational pull a creature has on me specifically, without any effects on others? What exactly did I do when I tracked down the elves?"

After a while of tracking, he finally saw the target and realised what he had to do.

For the second time, he did not target himself.

He saw the majestic stag look up and begin a mad dash, only for it to become heavier and heavier, until its movement slowed below that of Fliegenda.

"Well well well, stag... you will make great food for today!"

He grinned, the smug face turning to horror as the boulder like stag charged at him. Almost goring him to death until he let go of grounding completely and instead made a dash- reverse tag stomp combo to launch himself skyward, barely escaping the imminent demise he provoked.

Immediately, he began searching for more beasts to hunt, but the only progress he made was in advancing dash and grounding to 6, while tag stomp reached level 4.

A Hog, a bear, a pack of wolves and even a particularly provoked porcupine drove him deeper and deeper into the forest, as he learned more ways to manoeuvre than most would ever imagine.

It was only after hours of that spiel that he finally managed to kill something, and thus, as he dragged his proud kill towards a place he assumed to hold a cave, he did not look back even once.

For as dangerous as fighting is, most would not struggle to catch a crippled hare, especially if it already lost a leg.

The goblin side overwhelmed his human common sense, and as he noticed a lack of a cave, he just dug into the meat, sharp teeth cracking the bones and consuming the marrow, as he made sure to devoure every last part of his prey, leaving him with hollow bones and a disgusting aftertaste.

"At least its food... better disgusted than hungry."

And with that statement, he dug a small hole and covered himself in dirt, before he focussed all his willpower on grounding once more, the exhaustion ate at his mind, the additional weight remembered him of his leaden blanket at home, and the feeling of a somewhat full stomach where enough for Fliegenda to fall asleep, the soft light of the character screen banishing his fear of the dark.
