When the Njord awoke, it was to the barks of the Bol that slept along them.
It was a small creature, barely higher than two meters as it rubbed against Gorons leg, wincing and barking for him to wake up.
"You really act like a mixture of dog and cat, maybe you can help me achieve a class for this life..."
Warning: a class is assigned to a soul, and cannot be changed unless divine influence is used to seperate it. The separation resets the user back to level zero of their current tier.
"Oh... so I'll have to choose something that generally supports the respawn skill, as it is even more permanent than that class could possibly be..."
At his monologue, the Bol looked up at him in curiosity, gnawing on a bone that must have been another Bols femure. The final member of the party awoke with an annoyed groaning, followed by a skull thrown Gorons way.
"Good morning, Norman! Have you slept as well as me and the little Bol over here?"
The answer was another grumbling, before the second Njords comparatively lean body rose from the snow.
"Now that we are gonna travel with this girl over here, I think we should give her a name..."
"Can't you shut up while I try to get moving? Some of us needed to put a bedroll down because they can't just sleep on their own skin. Really, since when are you a morning person anyway? Don't you normally take an eternity to stand up?"
Norman asked, his face twisted in a thundering yawn, while Goron was busy cooing scratching the Bols ears like you would a happy dog.
"Yes... who's a good girl? What should we name you, huh? What should we name you?"
The question was repeated for quite a while, until he finally came up with one.
"Frostbite? Yes, you will be frostbite, the furry little jaws of damnation that will tear apart our enemies... now, calm down. You'll need all that energy to walk, because I can't just use you as a weapon or carry you all the time, right, Frostbite?"
The Bol didn't need to understand any of the words that Goron spoke, but the energy behind them assured her that it was something good, and thus, she barked and jumped up on Gorons legs, only calming down as Norman packed up and the trio continued their yourney towards the forest.
The closer they came, the smaller the beast they managed to see, where at the beginning they could see the occasional stag or Bol, now unihorns dominated the landscapes.
The rodents hung from the treetops and fell once something dared to venture beneath them. Tarned as icicles, Goron managed to get a few of them stuck in his skin, only to grab them once he felt like he needed a snack and bit the flesh clean off, throwing the horn for Frostbite to run after.
"And, what do you think of the area so far? Free food, easy travelling and nice companions."
Goron asked, and as he turned around to face his brother, the other Njord was trying his best not to scream in pain whenever a Unihorn penetrated his skin.
"What next, Norman, do you need armor to your weapons? How is it that everyone has a skin so much thinner than me? Our people can't be that weak, can they?"
It was mostly said in confusion, but as he realized how most of them where too stupid to work with their own family, he quickly dismissed any hopes for his people.
"You are probably the smartest Njord there is, Norman. With your brain and my brawn, I am sure we can avenge our ancestors... all we need for that is the intel from that damned mountain. What do you think, how long will it take until we reach that place?"
He asked Norman, now walking right behind the faster man to protect him from any horned rodents that might decide to fall on his head. An overall pretty smart Idea as Gorons hands where looking like a porcupine in no time, prompting the Njord to proceed to turn them into snacks and throw the horns for Frostbite.
"This is getting annoying, I'll have to scare these bastards away to make sure that we get through easier."
And thus, just as Norman learned of his plan it was too late. Goron had gathered the air in front of him and infused his words with gravity. And as the spell took hold, he took a deep breath and roared as loud as possible.
Immediately, a sense of exhaustion set in. All his stats struggling to recover from the sudden over use, but its effect was obvious. Unihorns fell from the trees left and right, and for a minute or so, they didn't see any creature except themselves.
It was only after about ten seconds that something answered the challenge, and a well known arena formed around him, leaving Frostbite and Norman just barely outside, as a birdcall answered his own.
Freezing winds picked up in speed and a pteranodon started a dive attack against him, his own blizzard skill not enough to hold against the creatures hail storm.
It was almost upon him that he casted featherfall again, stopping the beasts descend as the introductory sequence started.
"I am Goron, champion of True G0d and thickest of the Njord."
He proclaimed, ready to put his hands around the throat of the descending beast.
"I am Nag'mal, Champion of Lara, godess of Blizzards and hail."
The best answered, barely escaping Gorons swing, and taking a somehwat painful neck wound. As he ascended at a slower pace, Goron picked up a few stones and began throwing them, the rocks hitting the Storm herald everywhere as he said something Goron would never have suspected anyone to say.
"I give up."
It screamed, and as the barrier fell, it ran away at full speed.
"Wait... that's not how it's supposed to work..."
As he followed the creature with its eyes, he wondered what happened, only the gentle sound of someone tapping a tree stopped his thoughts.
"That's not how what works? Why didn't you tell us that we had to expect sudden magical walls to form? When did you plan to inform us that you are a champion? We cna travel normally to get out of this forest, but once we make camp, we will talk about this..."
It is obvious that on this day, the trio mysteriously walked until they collapsed, not stopping just because night came upon them.
And even though they would all love to sleep, Normans annoyed gaze made it obvious that the night would be horrible unless he confessed everything.
