2.0. Gorons ascension.

2.0. Gorons ascension.

Goron opened his eyes, and like every day, he regretted waking up.

Moving his body was a pain, even as he was the strongest in his tribe. Becoming a seventeen year old took him a lot of work and determination, but he finally awoke today to be greeted by the system and the lives of two people, one of them a creature called a human which used to be called Thimon, and a goblin called Fliegenda.

As he looked around, Thimon began assessing his surroundings for things that might be useful, while the Fliegenda part wanted to find a family and get revenge on Elves.

He never met those Elves, but as he delved into those memories of his, he learned a lot about them. Arrogant goblin killers that more often than not where too strong in something called videogames.

Until five seconds ago, Goron would have never seen being strong as something bad, but two lifetimes of hatred and prejudices made him hate them more than even his innate hatred for those born of snow triggered within.

He was pulled from those daydreams as his brother in arms Norman, a much more agile hunter than he was, opened their tent flap.

"I know... It's time to go and search for better lands, but have you ever thought of going south?"

He asked, grinning as he offered the option most considered one of their kins greatest mistakes.

"Those snowmans can't hurt me, my skin is thick. Once I start running, nothing will stop me. What do you say, will we slaughter them like they killed our ancestors?"

Norman quirked his eyebrows at that, the serious Njord visibly doubting his friends sanity.

"The only reason we still exist is because they think we are as frail as them, did your system unlock somehow freeze your mind?"

He asked, leaving Goron to ponder the situation and draw up his character sheet.

"I can speak four languages, three of which I have never heard of. I have assigned stats and some pretty weird perks and handycaps. You remember how we always made fun of my weight and strength, and how we could never beat eachother? Yeah, it makes a lot more sense now..."

Norman stared at him in disbelief.

"You are saying that you are a mutant? The kind that is somehow harder to hurt than others?"

As if to demonstrate his point, Goron stepped out of his tent naked as the day he was born and ran towards the closest lake, the iceshards and snow not even slowing him down, as a bit of movement made the titanic creature sweat, only the thickness of the snow saved them from a minor earthquake with every one of Gorons steps, Norman keeping step only because he had always been running around.

"Do you know what class you will be?"

Boron asked, waiting for Norman to respond as they set down next to the body of frozen water, the ice thick enough that they could walk upon it, even as their instincts screamed at them not to trust the Ice.

After the silence stretched on, Boron continued.

"I will be a Berserker or one of the Beacons, I think the life of a beacon would be great. Increases to growth and sturdiness, an aura of my choosing and the ability to be a safe space for you. And if I take that, we can probably spread the wastelands further down... just imagine what that would be, an age of champions won by a Njord, just expanding the northern wastes and maybe giving birth to new Njord kin. Like the Troglodytes back when we still lived in caverns, wouldn't that be great? To spread like those pesky humans, and everything in our way are those damnable born of frost and their tamed beasts."

Norman laughed at that, letting himself fall into the snow behind him, where Goron soon followed to make a snow angel.

"What do you think, is there an option to reunite our kin? A way to bring back those glorious days when we still had working tribes? We are brothers in arms, man. Why can't their be tribes or kingdoms?"

Norman sighed and replied

"A tribe or kingdom would draw their attention, we can go down towards the cryonic gazer and look whether they still have their guards posted everywhere. But like I said, the last procession revealed that they where still there, and it was only 50 years before us."

A grin spread across Goron's face, he would catch an opportunity whenever there was one, and this felt a lot like one he had to grab.

Going south would ensure he met other champions and allow for further slaughter of the people he hated so much.

It was then that a memory of power bubbled up within.

The feeling of his environment and a hint of control. An ability to change his own body, rebuild entirely with the use of intuition, wisdom, willpower and intelligence, he froze mid movement and used the mana of his surroundings.

Ancient fractions of reality were stitched together and held in place, as he cobbled together memories of become breeze, restful petrification, groundbound and ice mana.

The memories of the spells structure was distant, thus, he did not know that he was creating something new.

A part of him filled into the environment and raised the ice around him into a minor blizzard.

When he finally patched everything together, the aura skill was born.

Blizzard aura (ice) (skill): raise your surrounding ice and turn it into a shield of projectiles. Born from memories of a fallen goblin, this skill has been optimized to spare the user any colloteral.

Smiling, he stood up and began to whistle.

"Let's go and become our peoples heroes, maybe we can unite them in the common goal of a crusade."

And thus, they began their jog towards the mountain used by their people to keep watch of the Snowmen that drove them that close to extinction.
